It's different if you are taking over an established business but if you are starting a new bar then low season is a good time to open as it gives you time to get set up properly. I have heard stories from bar owners on another board and there's a lot of prep work in opening a bar and once opened there's still more to do as it's never complete. Something else that they might have to deal with is people not working out, the managers, cashiers or mamsan not measuring up or moving on.

Personally, I'm a value driven man when it comes to all aspects of life and so I like to find the sweet spot for quality and value. In the last week I've noticed a significant price drop which is a good sign for those of you currently out there and I think by July we'll see another ten percent plus drop.

The market is currently screwed up. Too many bars opened at the tail end of High Season, all employing bargirls who missed most of High Season. Now these bars are suffering and the ladies are bored and poor.

Are you saying that bars should only be seasonal? If they open new bars in October as you suggest, what are they to do come May? I can't understand why they would open a bar in the first place.
