Walked up Soi Excite a little after Midnight to the big bar complex to the right of the street. Only 3 or 4 bars open but one of them, Area 39, had at least 200-300 people in it, seeming to be mostly locals, while the other bars had maybe 30 at the most. Anyone have any idea why that bar is so popular?

Or maybe you are speaking from a purely exchange rate point of view. And if you are, it is not like you will be saving tons if you stay away. 1000 baht at 36 baht per USD is $27.78. 1000 baht at 34 baht per USD is $29.41. Not really worth it to forego a trip because you are waiting to pay $1. 63 less for a hooker.

The way my work schedule is I won't be able to make it out to Thailand until August or so. So I'm just looking at the financial benefits that happens to entail, however miniscule it may be.
