I may have to try the Skype number. I still have a Magyar Telekom sim card from last year that WhatsApp and Viber work with, and my German number usually does not scare too many off. Though usually I will make a list of the girls I like before my trip and create a generic message in Google translate and blast it to all of them. Thanks for updated information about e-sims. I agree Yettel (former Telenor) is good about pricing and also their stores have friendly and usually english speaking staff too and that is more important for me than saving few bucks.

This was my second visit to Budapest and I had a better idea of how to make things work for my circumstance. I travel with my spouse and this trip was with a tour group. I have went to Yettel (can be easily found within any of the big malls) to get a sim card. The whlole process took 5 minutes. I have also inquired about the E-sim and you can actually buy them while your still outside of Hungary through their mobile App Yettel HU.
