Words to such effect are also posted on many of the ads. Scammers have gotten hold of some phone numbers used by these businesses and tried to bait money out of guys.

FYI, among all the places I've ever contacted in Korea, I've never been asked to send payment in advance. To make sure that they get paid for each appointment, the operator usually sends a stock message stating that failure to show will result in being black listed. So, if you book an appointment, make sure to be on time. If you don't show up, they'll block your number.
