They are pushing for drinks now, they push for the 5 racks of tequila shots (5 * 160 = 800 bahts).

Some bars have "drinks only" girls, which means these girls are ready to entertain you downstairs if you reward them with drinks but they won't go upstairs.

They might accept to be barfined though if you put the price (a lot of drinks plus a lot of money for her), most of these are the prettiest girls of the bar.

Yes, rooms are usually 400 baht now. LDs are around 150,170 baht.

Many girls ask 1.5 K or 2 K, maybe even more and they are not even the most popular girls.

4 K for ST with a beer bar girl? Seems that they were really convinced you were a newbie, but we've all been through these kind of girls, asking too much and not wanting to negotiate at all.

I am sure they could "smell" new guy on me, but it take long for them to adopt an attitude when I respectfully tried to negotiate a more reasonable price. At that point I probably would have said no if they said they would go for free. Okay maybe not, but I was no longer interested. Funny thing it was a two different bars, on different streets so it wasn't like they could see me moving from bar to bar. It just felt like they were pissed at not having any customers. I just left Pattaya, on my first visit and stayed 8 days at the Empress, I was mostly very pleased with the hotel and would stay there again with not a problem. The staff was very helpful. I tipped the housekeeper 40 baht a day and she gave me extra towels and waters and was very responsive to any other request I had. The location is excellent if you like the beach. I also used Nam for the transfer and everything went perfect with one exception. They originally assigned Dream to pick me up and her photo was pleasant. Just prior to my flight I was told that they had substituted Nikky to pick me up. Nikky was efficient, professional, and got to the hotel in good time and with not any fuss. Let's just say, I was not interested in chatting her up AT ALL, which was fine since she had very limited English skills. Not her fault she is not attractive, but it was a bummer and I felt bad because I know she saw the disappointment in my eyes when I met her. I will use Nam's again with no hesitation. BTW, about 10 meters up Soi 12, (away from the beach) is a taxi stand. I used the guy a couple of times as he was recommended by the hotel staff and he also took me to the airport today for the flight back. If you use him tell him the guy that gave him a unopened bottle of Absolute recommended him. He also took me to Camel Toe twice, more about that later.

2 - can anyone recommend a massage place near the Empress?

That is really hard to do, since there are so many and the choices are immense. I will give you two that I used. I went to O Ring on Beach Road (There are two locations side by side). It is a legit place and will not even do HJ. The girl I picked told me that before I got the massage in a quiet voice. She suggested I get a foot massage which I did. Turns out you can "bar fine" the massage girls for $400 baht a day. Of course the expectation is they are going to make some money with you, but the ladies are under NO obligation to say yes to going out at all.

The girl I chose was probably close to 40 if not over, but was well preserved. I paid the $400 B and told her I wanted a 2 hour oil massage and then we would decide what else to do. She gave me a very nice relaxing massage and enjoyed my romantic overtures. Let's just say that she told me she had not been laid in almost a year and I believe it from the reaction. It was a wonderful full evening of pleasure and we went to eat after the sex. I gave her $1500 B, she had never asked for anything, and I felt like it was very fair. I would have liked to see her again, but she went back home for a 2 week stay, I forgot to get her Line ID. The other place I went was just across from the Subway shop, on the corner of 2nd Rd. And Soi 13, which I think is Soi LK, the name is Aree Massage. Same kind of thing, except they will do HJ, but nothing more unless you take them outside. Listen, I get that these are not 22 yr old stunners, but for me there is something about a attractive massage lady and good sex. They know how to touch you in a way that makes it more intimate in my experience, and to be honest when they are face down in a pillow and a cute ass in the air, I find I am unconcerned about how big are their tits, and if they look 19 years old, but that is just me. Again, I found one that I like her look and just got a foot massage, to get a feel for the vibe and then offered to buy them out of the shop for the day. I did this twice at Aree, and went to eat with both ladies first then took them to the Empress. It was fun both times.

I am not sure about anything before the last week, but I was there three times last week and a full bore session twice in a private room about 40 feet from the bar. I didn't go there, but I did go to MClub, and I really liked it. There are 2 or 3 really pretty ladies that work there and it is a bit more upscale. Take a look at their IG account and I saw most of the ladies in the photos there at some point in my two visits. One thing I will say, the girl with the huge tits in the manager and I don't know if she is willing to play or not, but I suspect that most of the rest are up for everything. I didn't run into "only for drinks" gals in either of these clubs. I would go back to MClub again as well.

I did not go into any go gos for more than one drink as they are not my jam. I did chat up two really pretty late 20's gals at different beer bars and they were complaining about how slow business was and then when I asked to leave for what I knew to be a reasonable offer, they both said ST was at least $4 K plus bar fine. I went to Korandos one afternoon early and it was DOA but two really hot girls, but I wasn't in the mood. I also went to Maggie Mays and again had just finished a session, so was just window shopping, but there were some nice offerings as well.

At least one evening take a stroll down Beach Rd. There are a lot of VERY average girls, and a couple of real hot LB's. The first question I asked any Beach Rd gal was if she was female at birth, and none of them pushed back or seemed put off. I suspect they get asked a lot. The first night I found one that looked like a school teacher, but was really built well and was wearing a nice fitting skirt and crop top with her glasses. $1000 B later she was naked in my bed and teaching me some new tricks. I made it a habit to walk down Beach Rd. Every night just to see what was available, but usually I was tapped out by then.

BTW, there are two massage shops on Soi 12 as you are walking away from the hotel and they each have at least one gal I wish I had asked to come the hotel, I was always afraid I would find something better, but you know how that goes.
