Although I'm no longer a very frequent traveler, I use Global Entry and appreciate it. I don't understand what you mean by "extra steps. " I can't judge whether Global Entry is faster than Moible Passport because I only use Global Entry. Global Entry now operates on facial recognition. From the time I reach the kiosk (I've never had to wait longer than it takes to walk up to one) to the time I exit the immigration area there is a 1 to 2 minute period. I don't know if you could spend less time in immigration unless you stay home.

I agree. The kiosk takes my picture and you go to special line to wait for an agent. Usually it only takes a minute or so. I go to the agent and he will ask you a few questions and you're done. You don't get any special privileges when you are in Colombia but the additional feature of TSA PreCheck is wonderful. Much quicker and you don't have to take things out of your bag.

It is well worth the $100 for 5 years. A bargain. Free if you have certain credit cards.

So in Miami theirs a designated line that says mobile pass control? I don't remember seeing it, their is definitely not one at fll that mentions anything about it.

Yes, when you enter passport control the sign points saying Mobile passport control and global entry both together. After passing the main point, it separates. The security guard will tell you which lane to go to when you flash the MPC to them.

I still have to stand in reg line the several times I've used it, I never see line or sign for Mobil pass control, what am I doing wrong? Thanks any advice will be appreciated! Do you say you have global entry when asked?

I don't know about Miami, but in Fort Lauderdale and Orlando the MPC and Global Entry lines are one and the same, so you just walk following the MPC / GE signs.

Mobile Passport App users bypass the kiosks entirely.

Yeah, it might be different in other places, but in FLL and MCO using the free Mobile Passport Control app is faster than Global Entry, since they use the same line and Global Entry folks have extra steps to perform at a kiosk.

There definitely are nonpros out there looking to date foreigners. Some of those nonpros will also be curious about anal. I was thinking I would definitely avoid centro, but now I am curious to see just how bad it is. I mean, everyone says Colombian girls are some of the hottest in the world; I guess seeing what the bottom of the barrel has to offer really makes one appreciate the 7's and 8's that are out there.

It's been a while but I'd say Parque LLeras averages a 6 and Centro averages a 4. Your chances of find a 9 in Lleras is about as good as finding a 7 in Centro. One upside to Centro is that there are a fair number of bars and casas in the vicinity. If you want to get a look without going just peek at the numerous Youtube videos out there for Centro Medellin. They're of course showing the best of what they've shot but it'll give a sampling.

That Global Entry gets picked up by most credit cards and is a good tool to have. I would have it even if it was not picked up by my CC. Clear is also picked up by my CC so I have that.

Now if we could just figure out how to get through the long lines in Medellin.

The Global entry kiosks take me less than 30 seconds and usually more like 15. Some people may just mess around for longer.

Mobile passport is not part of trusted traveler program so at times you are going to get the third degree from customs agents. You are much less likely to get that with GE. Typically, I am asked if I have anything to declare with GE and that is it. Last time I went through customs I was literally asked nothing. You also get the free TSA precheck with GE which is a great value.

Yeah, GE is $100, but many, many credit cards offer up a $100 rebate if you buy GE so in essence it is free for a many travelers.

I agree that mobile passport blows away the regular lines and it is an alternative to GE but I have done both, and GE is way, way better.

To my fellow Centro rats, just out of curiosity what is the back story on the change of name / ownership of Premier Plaza to Botero Casa? The only difference I could see besides the sign is the absence of the gringos who used to hang out on the balcony overlooking ground zero.
