To clarify on the airport ATM. If you DECLINE their offered conversion (always do this), you will get your banks own preferred conversion. BUT this specific ATM charges an additional withdrawal fee (I forget exactly, something between 25-30 k or so) for each withdrawal. Hence the advice to just withdraw the $100-120 k you need for the cab ride into town and withdraw the rest at an in-town bank ATM.

That varies by bank. I use Davivienda ATM's. The max withdrawal at one time is 2 million pesos. You can make multiple withdrawals in one day. I don't know their daily limit because I have $1000 daily limit with my Schwab card, and I can withdraw that amount. With BBVA bank, I think the max per transaction is 400 mil. I don't know if you can do multiple withdrawals in one day. At Scotiabank Colpatria, the max per transaction is 900 mil, and you can withdraw either three or four times daily. I don't know any of the limits at Bancolombia because I stopped using them years ago when they started charging a fee before hardly any other bank. Now almost all banks charge an ATM fee. I think Davivienda and BBVA do not charge fees.

Before anyone chimes in, I know Schwab, and some others, will reimburse the ATM fees if they are stated on the transaction, but I don't like to reward some banks when others don't charge a fee.
