Wikipedia is a great resource. I tend to adlib a lot of my trips but would always check the airports' Airlines and Destinations section to make a rough plan of routing options. That's how I came to make use of Clark for Domestic transits and a few days fun rather than a dedicated road trip to and from Makati.

I have no idea why I never focussed on it as a International Arrivals option. I always assumed that it only had a few inconvenient flights so I never investigated further.

If you are going to numerous destinations, consider skipping the bus altogether and include Clark in your flight routings. PI doesn't have very good direct flights between regional towns but operates on a hub and spoke model with three main hubs: NAIA, Cebu and Clark. With a bit of planning, you can fly to your destinations and have fun at the various hubs without having to bus for hours all over the place.

We've all used the busses but I'd certainly rather arrive into Clark by plane, have a few days fun, then fly out to my next destination. Avoid leaving Manila by bus on a Friday afternoon at all costs.

Hear me out. From what I can tell there are at least 2 gay bars in AC. Why anyone would travel to AC to get gay activity is beyond me. I'm pretty sure it's free in your home town. I can only assume these are money laundering fronts. But, there has to be a market for the ladyboy scene, otherwise there wouldn't be so goddam many. Grabbing us, following us, constant propsitions that can be uncomfortable and annoying. Why doesn't some enterpriser open up a ladyboy bar and get them licensed and tested and off the streets? Free idea. Make some money.

Sailor Jack always tries to book a Clark arrival flight hoping to avoid MNL altogether. However, from Sailor Jack's part of PussyHell the connections are always really bad. Definitely try to book a Clark arrival instead of an MNL arrival if you can.

I was about to reply that there are only a few CRK international arrivals from SIN and HKG and that TJB would be better off trying to transit thru, rather than arrive in, CRK. However, a quick Google identifies many more CRK international arrivals that I was aware of and that flights from my own Pussy Hell are both $'00's cheaper and many hours shorter than MNL.

If 3500 is the going rate, and I decide to take a taxi, wouldn't I be better off watching all the taxis go by for the biggest most comfortable one. Some of these taxis are death traps in third world countries. If I reserve a taxi or tell the hotel to Angeles to pick me up, god only knows what will show up.

Sailor Jack has used private taxi's from Kokomo's, Margarita Station, Beeway Travel, and the same set up by the hotel that SJ booked. Every vehicle has been clean, roomy, and comfortable. You will be the lone passenger. Ask for some cold SMB for your trip, for a low extra charge.

Most of the time they send a small van. Last time it was a Toyota Innova. Clean, roomy, good AirCon. I guess you could also ask what vehicle they will send, and maybe specify the vehicle.

Flying into Clark is definitely a better option than flying into MNL. Sailor Jack always tries to book a Clark arrival flight hoping to avoid MNL altogether. Yes, its non-stop from NAIA to SM Clark for drop-off, then it travels a few more minutes to Clark airport. It departs NAIA every hour from T3. Not aware of any reservations, just hop on the bus at NAIA and pay the p430 once the bus is moving. This allows to skip the Dau connection. Last time when I got off at SM Clark, I just walked to my hotel (10 minutes). It was about 2. 5 hours ride and early evening arrival, with pleasant cool temp. There were taxis waiting, quoting p300 to anywhere. They wouldn't dicker down, claiming the fare minimum was part of their 'system'. There were also no trykes at the bus drop-off at the SM (others told me that the trykes are p100).

In general, its faster to taxi from your place in Makati/Malate to Terminal 3 and catch the Genesis bus. Assume taxi is p300, Genesis is p450, and the taxi at SM Clark to your residence is p300. That's p1k total. If going directly to AC from NAIA, its p750. Cheaper than a private car.

I'll be staying near robinsons place mall in malate for a few days and check that area out. See if I like the KTV bars. Then off to Angeles city for a few days, see how I like that area, and then probably go to makati for a few days and see how that area is. Eventually I want to go to boracay beach for a few days. That will take up my first week. I have no idea where I will go the second week.

I'll admit that for the bus I've typically been going the other way, AC to MNL. When staying at the Dusit or Greenbelt, Victory was pretty convenient. However, I'd agree that if TJB has to travel to the bus connection, then going to NAIA makes a lot more sense. Not only is it quicker overall but the Makati stop is in the heat, dust and fumes near the highway behind SM. Hardly a pleasant place to wait. As I said, I've typically been going the other direction.
