Yes, I'm going to go down in infamy here as the board member who single handily ruined mongering in Medellin with all my posts going back several years now.

There's been estimates by others that as a result of all my posts, thousands of new mongers have shown up that have changed the mongering landscape.

This trip was so odd. I had been in Bogota the first weekend of August and it followed the standard Santa Fe routine. Street girls, club girls, street girls and done. All good.

It's not one of the explanations. I've watched many Medellin working girls try webcam or Onlyfans. They almost never make any money. Onlyfans, if you're going to make money, you need to post pics and videos every day, plus work at least 4 or 5 hours every day on social media, making contacts and getting your name out there. If you keep that up for a month or two, you will probably get paid. You might even earn as much in those 2 months as you could have made from 1 Facebook date. 200-300 hours to earn the same as you could be making in 1 hour in bed?

Webcam is basically the same amount of work, before you start making money. To make webcam worse, a girl has to sit in front of a cam, smiling, keeping attentive and active for hours at a time when nobody is tipping, nobody is chatting.

Neither option is easy money.

Even the legit studios usually keep 50%, at least until the model starts making good money. The ones working for the gangs don't last long. The real studios have a higher success rate, but they're a lot more selective about who they'll hire.

The website takes usually takes 70%. Then from the 30% that's remaining the girls get 50%. For every dollar you give they get 15 cents. And they have to convert it to pesos so if the exchange rate goes down like it is now it affects how much they earn. And that affects how long girls decide to work if they work at all. There are dedicated studios. There are houses they turn into studios. They make studios out of hotels that aren't as busy when tourism is low.

Girl do this thing called being a satélite. Which is they can take the equipment from the studio and set it up in their house. This way the studio only takes 10% to 20%. And the studio gets the space back so that they can bring another newbie girl.

Another thing girls do is save up the money to buy their own equipment and then they get that 20% back.

The holy grail is when they become independent do multiple websites with varying percentages that they take at the same time, have an onlyfans for subscriptions / passive income and use instagram as a dating app to get flown out by sugar daddies.

It's not new, but it's definitely increased in popularity over the last few years. I think it's mostly because of COVID, it's ever since that broke out that quality has gone down in Colombia. Re Only fans and other webcams. Yes it's an issue. I read a report that said recently there are 200 k webcam models in Colombia, that said only a small fraction of them make big money. Remember there is no limit on number of viewers a single chica can have, whereas they can only fuck one or two at a time. So the breakdown of $ is quite interesting and like everywhere else in competitive sports a lot of factors come into play and many of these cam girls return to the game. So not all accurate saying it's all shifted online. It's a factor that's all.
