Spent three weeks in Medellin, stayed at a hotel near the Veracruz area. What a time! Thought I'd give a few tips to people who want to go into the what can feel sketchier areas:

1. don't be clearly white (like, you can be, but you'll stand out). I can just about pass.

2. don't look around like you're a tourist, imagine you were walking to your house around the corner.

3. hoodies are good, but be prepared to get stopped and searched, happened to me twice.

4. the more exposure you have, the easier and more experienced you become.

5. but this experience can make you complacent. Don't get complacent.

6. if a girl is in a group, pull her away a little.

7. google translate is fine, but watch your phone.

8. keep your wallet ideally in a zipped pocket or hidden.

I've never had anything bad happen to me and I've been doing this for years, but that doesn't mean it won't. So keep your financial downside low, cheap phones, not all your cards, etc.

Had some really hot spinners this time. 40-50 k each, always tipped well if they did well. Enjoy!

They aren't available. Not her specifically but if you don't see the profile she's just not available. They often do this. Either they quit or They are not in bigots or Medellin for various reasons. If you talk about that plaza, then I can tell from my observation that during the weekdays before dark is probably the best time. Friday and Saturday it ebbs, Sunday is probably the low point. All of that is to be expected.
