Do you really pay 5000 Short time to a Soi 6 girl? Do you not know short time is 1000-1500 baht plus the room? Anyways, I am not saying I have not paid 5000 Baht ST before, but it was under unique circumstances. TM47 is more of 90 days reporting. Most tourists travel here on a 30 day exemption or 60 days tourist visa. If you stay under 30 days, you don't have to do anything. If plan on extending your 30 day exemption to an additional 30 days extension, then a TM30 should have been filed 24 hours upon check in at hotel. This is the same for the 60 day tourist visa plus another 30 days extension. However, Immigration has some recent issues with their online TM30 website that the hotels and landlords use. So nobody was able to file the TM30 online for their guests. For most, it wasn't necessary because they stayed under 30 days. But for those wanted to extend, there came a shock when they tried to extend without the TM30 ever being filed. They had to pay a 2000 fine. Because the law is that it's still the tourist's responsibility to file their TM30 (within the 24 hour window) if they are going to extend, website down or not. You can do that at Window A Immigration Jomtien for free. Do it pithing 24 hours of arrival and check in. Just bring your hotel receipt and their contact info or business card. That way Immigration has you registered with an address before trying to extend. There will sample an address notification slip into your passport and you can come back whenever to do the extension for 1900. Don't the TM30 in 24 hours and you will be paying 2000 penalty and 1900 for the extension.

Thank for properly writng it. Majority will be under the time period and if you decide stay longer using Airbnb particular if own by foreigner he / she better have a work permit.

Those like myself who has a address of my wife everytime I leave come back must file a new TM30 Although same address supposely can't report online unless I upload documents esch time.

We have the TF-Beach Road. Soi 6 group, who often pay 1,000 baht.

We have the Top Tier Gogo group, for whom price is no object.

And there are people in the middle group, who may pay 1,500ST in some cases, or other amounts in other circumstances.

So you cannot expect a One Price For All Ladies.

I happen to be at a meeting in regard to Immigration this week. In Jomtien, effective October reports so far have been inconsistent but the news is in regard to the TM47.

This form is normally filled out by the hotel to immigration. It has been on the books since 1979, but has never been an issue Jomtien now has made a big issue of it a few years back it was the same old stuff.

The report must be made within or within 24 hours by the hotel. At Jomtien immigration there are changes in the waiting area or outside the main building parking lot is no more it has a number of offices broken down into departments. Outside of doing your 90 reports or obtaining a TM47, you need to Q up at the information desk to get into the main building for a Visa extension.

Those who reside at a Hotel, resort, or Airbnb, and don't stay longer than 30 days generally do not need to worry but if you decide to stay longer and need to make a visit without the TM47 you will run into a problem. The key although it is the responsibility of the hotel, owner if you don't have a TM47, you will need to pay 2000 in a fine..
