I have been searching for the post but can't find it. About a month ago, someone posted some great information on which option to choose if you are paying with a credit card. One of the two (Dollars / reais) was the better deal. Anyone remember the post?

I am not sure about credit card. But at the ATM always decline conversion. You always get Reals regardless. But if you accept conversion then you get a scammy local bank rate. If you decline conversion then your US bank uses spot rate.

Assume this is same for credit card. Decline conversion. Pay in Reals.

All termas in Rio including 4 x4 add scammy CC surcharges, but if you're just short of cash, they'll let you pay cash and top it up with plastic.

This is now the unofficial high temple of voodoo of vagabundo. I can't recommend it highly enough as a place to go smoke a cigar and have a macallan neat after fucking a girl at 116 (who costs more than the macallan). Well last night Vagabundo and Alecbrwn went to meet up at Cinelandia Starbucks, and after rapping a little, then did a patrol over to 4 x4. Then we foot patrolled into Lapa and had some late dinner at contemporaneo, went by ganja coffee shop which was closed, and then vagabundo ubered home, all while texting manu meier about whree to meet but the morena hoar was on a overnight in botafogo, and will only do hours with vagabundo. Look Vagabundo is just a man, a normal dude, a little overweight, old, greying beard, but he looks forward to reaming manu's ass soon, maybe tomorrow, as payday was today.

What p4 p is in Rio or any city is in Recreio.

As has already been noted, there are equivalent of VM here -- posto 10 to 12, Master Club, Av Gilka Machado, and the area from Gilka Machado to Master Club. Look on gparena dot net etc, and session with well reviewed girls.

Recreio Terapatias has some hot girls, and the beach kiosks and restaurants have hot waitresses. At a certain moment Transamerica appts asked 180 Euros p. And. ? The Ubering from and to Olegario Maciel is also a hassle and pricy. I decided to just relax here, hit up some clinicas in Recreio and Barra. I will be back in Copa on Monday and things will be better again, but unfortunately around posto 2. The posto 5 accommodations were still expensive.

P.S.: I'm not a fanboy of Copa accommodations (except posto 5), its just easier to move around.

I used to live in Recreio. It's pretty chill but there is a usually one or two quiosques on the beach that are rockin' - one specifically around posto 11. There are also quite a few garotas working Lcio Costa between postos 9 and 11. Interestingly I never did try Paris Club as I was in a pretty tight relationship at the time. I highly recommend Recreio if you want to hang out and chill. There's decent Airbnb options and a few hotels along the beach.

I've never felt unsafe while in VM as there are always a lot of people around and unless you start a fight with someone, no one is going to bother you or rob you. Getting there from the Sao Cristovao metro station or Praca Bandeira bus stop may be a little dodgy but can be avoided by Ubering to VM. The problem with VM is almost all of the girls there are unfuckable and even if you found one you liked the rooms are tiny, filthy little cabins with narrow beds with sheets that are not changed after a session (this applies to the bars in the horseshoe. I don't know about the bars across the street). Went there last Friday and, out of the dozens of girls working there, only saw one blond in the horseshoe that might be fuckable and another in one of the bars across the street. It could be worth going there just to see what the poor locals are fucking and to say you've been there, but don't go there expecting to to fuck anyone.

I always find something there.

At times, very hot girls among the uglies.

Just takes patience and I always use the very seldom used suite rooms that a few of the bars have available.

Why anyone would use one of the normal crappy rooms there, I don't know.

I've experienced sao paulo's clinica scene & like it, but how does that compare to Rio's massage spot scene? Quality & price wise? I've never tried massage spots in Rio. Just termas at night.

You won't find many such options in Rio. Most so called terapias are straight-up bordellos. There are a couple of massage joints, but they offer manual release only. I recommend Alice in Tijuca. A mature woman with a gorgeously sculpted 20-year old body but a 40-year old face, LOL. She's not ugly, mind you, but don't expect a 20-year old beauty.

But more importantly, she has superb massage and sex skills and charges under 200. I don't remember the address, but you can find it on GParena.
