I have never bought or used a sex toy in Thailand but my observation as I walk along Sukhumvit past the few table vendors who sell them is they much prefer a low key interaction with customers who do approach them, discouraging picking them up even in their display box to make them more visible to passersby and, presumably, the police.

But if a security camera or interested law and order party witnesses them being made aware of it overtly then they can't ignore it or pretend not to have noticed and will then be compelled to deal with it and shut them down.
This would be my observation as recently as last month or so.
Maybe the law the cops would be enforcing is about embarrassing the kingdom, tarnishing its image and so on and not exactly a specific law in the criminal code regarding sex toys. I don't know since I never researched it. I also don't know if the only issue the cops care about is the toys being on display on tables in public and have no issue with someone having one in their luggage or in the privacy of their room. I don't think I have ever seen or heard of a tourist being hassled and their shopping bag being searched and confiscated because a big plastic dildo was found in it.
Just passing along my observation of how it is treated at the vendor tables; Not all that casually, they don't want to draw the cops' attention to it.

Posts: 405Except the barbie doll, super light skinned, generic looking Thai girl is a 7 for me. I far prefer darker, broader featured Issan girls. It is a matter of taste, not fact. And THAT is a fact.

A few years ago, I brought in a few battery-powered toys in my checked bags. The bags were not inspected upon arrival. So I don't know if a problem would have been encountered. Probably just confiscation. I have seen recently-posted YouTube videos showing table merchants along lower Sukhumvit opening displaying a variety of toys. Leads me to believe things have loosened up. There must be some expats here who can give "today's" availability.

Has anyone here ever tried entering Bangkok or Chiang Mai with this type of sex toy before? I've never traveled with one anywhere before and I read Thailand takes sex toys seriously, however they are working to change that. Any knowledgeable assistance from someone who has experience bringing in sex toys would be appreciated.

I call BS. So I glean two pieces if info from this report, Cambodians are the biggest liars and honesty and indifference increase as you go down the list.

Posts: 6734Chances are the best looking girls you see are with expats who live here or guys who visit Thailand for a few weeks every couple of months. On my first trip I wondered the same thing as you did when I was struggling to meet the very TOP looking Thai girls. Then when I moved here within months I had quite a few of them and no they weren't bar / massage girls.
