Posts: 1010More likely it was because the boyfriend was ok about her going with a farang for money (that she would later share with him), as we don't count, while drama would ensue if he saw her go with a Thai man.

You say you went with other Thai guys too, but I suspect if your friends were motorbike taxi guys, or of similar stature, they'd be much less welcome.
One mamasan I fucked a few times (for free, when I was still young and handsome, after meeting here at a regular club the first time) said she did not want thai men inside her bar because they worried they could be undercover police, but I suspect a bigger part of the reason was the aforementioned "sex with farang for money doesn't count to the thai boyfriend".

Posts: 480I've read plenty of times that the girls at Classic are pretty much forced to work there. Main thing that's put me off trying Jakarta.

Posts: 6734For me it's hands down Jakarta right now and has been for years. Walk into Classic and you'll wonder why you haven't been going there for years. Jakarta is mainly point and shoot like Soi 6 with rooms on premise. Read the Jakarta forum. I try posting updates every few days only to have LoveItHere continue to rag on me that all my posts are story telling. Of course he doesn't post any reviews and says he's there. Anyways off topic.

No, you won't videos of these places on YouTube cause everyone is afraid of backlash from the Yakuza. Expensive? Damn right for a cheap arse like myself but you have to spoil yourself once in a while.
Beautiful girls in HCMC too but quick FS options other than online stuff is limited to massage places. Check out YouTube videos of Cherry Linh Spa. Stunning lineup. I think it's Asian Nights that posts some good YouTube videos.
Another favorite for many guys is PP. Khmer girls aren't really my look so I don't go.

Posts: 720I have the same mentality. If I am being short changed or overcharged, I let them know that and if they don't rectify it I let them know that I will not be returning. As you said, let your money do the talking.

My. 2 cents is to not frequent Soi 6 bars. So many reputable bars and GCs in Buakho and around Pattaya and Jomtien where you don't have to worry about this kind of stuff, especially getting your a $$ kicked or killed. That's why when Indo go to the 6, I simply talk to the ladies from the curb, negotiate and head up for ST. I have never and never will I frequent a Soi 6 bar for drinks.

Posts: 1957Your final paragraph is interesting. If FKKs and Thailand have descended out of the top two (for me they are still in both slots!) where do you prefer? I've not done South America despite a lot of mongers urging the trip. I have a pal who went out to Columbia and Brazil for 3 weeks. For sure the girls were pretty but he was mugged twice in Brazil, robbed at gunpoint one of those times and was sure they would have killed him but for him paying up, and had two guys beat him up and steal his wallet outside a bar in Medellin. To be clear. This friend of mine is over 6 ft tall, 42 yrs old and has a good physique. He is no pushover but as someone once correctly said "muscles don't do well against bullets". So not sure SA is on my bucket list anytime soon. I've done Cambodia. Cheap but not stellar options. I have mongered in Spain for 30 years. Again - no longer cheap and poor options. Same is true of France, Germany outside of FKKs, Australia, Bali, Singapore. Dubai has fabulous options but is far from cheap. So I'm interested in which would be your top 3 for example and why.

Posts: 31Lots of bars on soi six are infamous for this, had this occur during my last trip in April when I was sitting with the same girl and had ordered her a ld and myself a new beer, got the updated bill and it had gone from 2 ld+1 beer to 5 ld+2 beer, I pointed out the mistake, the girl went to talk with the mamasan who offered a quick apology and it was fixed.
No point in causing a scene or being upset or aggressive like these guys but on the other hand don't be stupid and naive, these people aren't your friends.

Posts: 6685Keeping it 100. First visit to Pattaya my friends taught me the system. I have yet to visit a bar or restaurant that has not followed the structure you outlined. One time a waitress at one of my favorite restaurants made a mistake on a bill charging me a side order when it was included in my meal. I pointed her error out on menu. She said she served me two the the particular item (she had not). I paid the bill and simply did not return anymore. When it comes to business I simply vote with my baht. There are too many business competing for my money to allow myself to get caught up in games any business owner wants to play.

Examining every bill when it is delivered is standard procedure for Thais. I know this from having dinners or lunches with them and they pick up the "check bin". There is nothing rude about doing this. SOP in Thailand. Legitimate mistakes can be made.

Posts: 669Don't mess with the locals!

What is wrong with some of these touristy types out there? They think just cause they're of a certain nationality they can mess with the locals? I'm firmly on the side of the Thais on this one. Don't mess with the locals! In any country you're in. Have some respect for the local customs and people, and learning some phrases of Thai go a long way too. I bet these idiots got drunk, went all belligerent and thought they could punch their way out like they would do in some shitty british pub somewhere. But boy did they get what they deserved. Can't get away with that shit in Thailand. Granted, I'll just say that certain types of foreigners will get treated like Gods in Asia, even if they look like freaking Danny Devito, but in this case these morons crossed the line, and you know what that line be? Cash money baby. Cash money.
Although those 2 kiwi idiots that tried to kill a cop, definitely got what they deserved. Just looking at the reports from the NZ side of things, they can't seem to be neutral at all, blaming everything on the Thai cop, but read the full story and you'll see the cop was just doing his job. Don't be that guy fellas. Don't be the ugly foreign tourist. Let's learn a thing or two from our fellow East Asian brothers, who monger quietly, respectfully, under the radar. Never causing problems. Just saying. I spent some years of my youth in South East Asia, cause of Uncle Sam of all things, so trust me, I know a thing or two about conflict.
Be nice.

Posts: 6734Well run bars bring you the bill after every order and it sits in front of you. Very well run bars even make you sign the drink bill after each drink you order. ALWAYS check your bill EVERY time you get a new one. Dispute it on the spot if it's padded. Pay for your drinks round by round if they don't bring you a new bill after every order. Mistakes happen on bills. It's happened to me at a regular gogo bar I attend. My girls yelled at the cashier for me!

Posts: 68Maybe she was on the phone with the other bar to send security over it's all speculation as we weren't getting to many details at the moment but maybe just maybe the girl got them to rack up a bill of lady drinks than refused to be bar fined (golden rule one drink rule always ask if she's open to be bar fined) maybe that's why the disagreement followed by one of the friend on his bill or maybe they padded his bill we can't say for sure but yes always just pay your bill and never go back if you were scammed lesson learnt but getting a beat down that brutal over 110 $ Canadian bucks (2800 bhatt) is not worth it and one article says he's in the ICU in serious condition with no more updates but than u saw a video of him getting up so who really knows. I personally thing he’s in the hospital that’s why the Thai police were quick to arrest the guards I think the bar should be held responsible for the guards actions they should've called the police not send in blood thirsty goons to brutal assaults someone that bad. Just intimidation and they were judge jury and Executioner.. laws for a reason let the police handle it

Posts: 3373It is sad reality these freelancers are hired by a bar or a number of them but the police, media making sure names arent throw out. Hopefully just making them apology and claiming they are going to face charges regardless happens but don't hold our breath.

Everyone knows about security guard attacks but what didn't make the headlines is the dude walking with his girl friend to 7/11 at 430 am in Phuket when he saw a fellow Brit tourist getting ganged by bunch of locals so he went over to what was happening he ended up getting stabbed and stumbling into the 7/11 went to the counter with blooding coming out his mouth trying ask for help but couldn't talk and collapsed on the floor and to undergo surgery.

Posts: 68I watched one video online it's been removed now I believe but it was CTV footage inside the bar didn't look like he hit that chick on the face at all. When the 3 thugs showed up his friend was holding them back tryna de-escalate it but they were just running up on the guy they weren't there to talk that's pretty obvious when it went outside they beat the shit put him than same thing happened to his friend 2 dudes just kicking the shit out of him while ones on full mount punching his face in non stop than after they finish him the one dude Went Wwe Randy Orton (not even joking) and did the punt kick on his dudes skull he later motionless after that his friend tried to get back up to his feet the (the one who was tryna de-escalate) and one of thugs was still tryna beat him up the bar girls on the street all started holding the thugs back even they knew that was way to much the guy almost didn't stop I think the bar lied about him hitting the girl etc so it wouldn't hurt their business / jobs and to protect the security guards. The business for sure should've called the police not 3 thugs looking for a fight.
