I Stayed there many moons ago and it was not chica friendly but things change. I have visited the casino many times as well and the bar for live music. The bar did have some high end couples and maybe some potential hottys but no obvious working girls. I picked up a girl in the casino once. I have seen very few obvious working girls. Jaragua is definitely the better choice. Right on the Malecon. Largest casino in Dr. Three other casinos right next door. Casino gives good change rate. Oasis is about a10 minute Uber. The Blue Mall is in Piantini. Mostly apartments and restaurants. Nothing to do at night.

In my opinion chicas have always been a draw to Republica Dominicana. When it comes to sheer chica options and other things to do, nothing beats the greater Santo Domingo area. But, the infrastructure sucks compared to many cities in other countries. In Santo Domingo you need to be able to run with the big dogs, have game, speak Spanish, but age is is not a factor.

I would instruct readers to review my post again. Especially the part in bold. Santo Domingo has no beach. But most people know this from the jump. Personally I would not goto the Dominican Republic and post up in Santo Domingo. In fact in over 10+ years of actually living there I NEVER lived in Santo Domingo. But anyone who cannot figure out things to in Santo Domingo then they have either never been there, have no imagination or have worn out their welcome and should find other places to explore.

Personally I just like walking in Zona Colonia and along Avenida Espana. In fact I used to walk Avenida Espana everyday and like Zona Colonia before the major upgrades. I only actually vacationed for 1 week in Santo Domingo. Stayed in Zona Colonia while I was there. I liked it so much that I moved to the Dominican Republic three years later. While I lived there I enjoyed visiting the malls. The malls in Santo Domingo are like town centers with everything in them except for medical facilities.

Please note that I write from perspective a man who had "boots on the ground" for year. Not a visitor. Now I have not been in the Dominican Republic for almost a year. But I don't mind sharing my impressions of the place. If anything has changed dramatically I am not aware of it as I have friends that live in both Santo Domingo and Santiago giving me continuing updates on constant improvements that are being made to the transportation infrastructure, upgrades to the police and military and new constructions projects both commercial and residential.

Sales pitch, let us know on other things to do in Santo Domingo (yes, we are done with the aquarium, the cathedral, the Botanical Garden, the Columbus place, the caves). Since there is no beach, where would you chill for a couple of weeks? There is always a competition from other LATAM countries.

Personally I don't give a fuck if someone prefers to visit other countries in LATAM. I suggest that they visit, enjoy themselves and post about their experiences in the other country forums. It is something that I do also. I like Colombia, Mexico and I am interested in visiting El Salvador. I never understood the consistent posters (and there are many of them) that feel the need to make those comparisons. As if the men reading these forums and threads cannot make their own comparisons and decisions.

No sales pitch needed I have no dog in the fight. I do not own a car rental agency, AirBnB hotel or tour agency. But all anyone needs to do is to check the tourist statistics (number of arrivals at airports) for the Dominican Republic and you are smart you will come to the conclusion that something is attracting millions of people to the country. Anyone tired of Santo Domingo can get to anywhere in the country if they are willing to sit on a bus for up to five hours and can afford to pay 350 DOP.

I have visited Punta Cana; La Romana; Baharona; Santiago; Nagua; Jarabacoa; Sosua; Las Terranas; Samana; and my personal favorite Las Galeras. Since the Grand Jefe mobile is still operational, I observed all the pueblos along those routes where you stop for refreshments and take a break. If you post up in Santo Domingo for weeks and get bored, in my opinion that is your own damn fault. You will not be able to convince me otherwise. Cause I could spend my time hooking up with chicas all day.
