Good thing about G Hua Hin is its walking distance to Market Village Shop centre. Staff were great, buffet bfast good, pool is awesome. Its hard to falter.
G Hua Hin is a little out of town but a 15 min tuk tuk fare easily took acre of that- and its close to Wonderland and massage shops on side Road.
Its a bit like the landmark Hotel in BKK. Yeah its nice but there are plenty other really good options at cheaper prices around. I don't like when OS places try to rip Westerners off.
Some will disagree.

Just a quick note of thanks to all who responded with thoughts / comments and suggestions on hotels.
I think I've decided that I'll get to BKK, go to Pattaya as planned and see what it's like. If not as good as my trip in the sunshine of April (Songkran was fun but became too much) I'll head to HH. If the old Ferry from PTY to HH was still running I wouldn't hesitate. It's not so its a good 5 hours from Pattaya so I'll like do a night in Bangkok. I prefer Silom / Thaniya to Sukumvit despite not being Asian) and then if BKK is not looking great and the weather is ok (a lot of ifs and buts) I'll do a few days in HH. In which case the least I could do is then report back. Thanks guys. Much appreciate the feedback.

Personally, I wouldn't bother going for a couple of days, but if you fancy a change there's plenty of accommodation to choose from. You're probably best staying in the middle of town near Soi 61, so you could try:
1) The Hilton (£110 / night).
2) Centara Grand Beach Resort & Villas (£110).
3) The Standard (£90 for normal room or 230 for Villa with private pool).
4) Marriott (£135, but a bit of a walk to the action).
5) Baan Nilrath (25 - budget hotel but very nice and in a good location).

I have an upcoming flying visit to the LOS. I know Bangkok and Pattaya well and will manage only 2 days in BKK and 6 in Pattaya. I have 2 other days. I've never been to Hua Hin. Is 2 days enough / even worth it? Checked and train and taxi time from Bangkok is 3 hours minimum. Longish trip to do unless it's really worth it. I know there is the old adage "you won't know till you go". So I'm tempted. Just wanted to ask the regulars / senior members who either live in, or frequently visit Hua Hin, is it a case of "don't do a 6+ hour round trip for only 2 nights", or is it still worth the journey? The posts in the forum are not particularly inspiring and of course there a multitude of offerings to conduct our sport in Bangkok and Pattaya. But if the area is well worth it, and / or regulars think the offerings (even in low season) are well worth the try, I'm tempted.
Reading back some pages of the forum I can see that Llantarnum and AggieDad1 are fans. I like the very honest assessments Llantarnum has provided “if you are after bright lights etc…..stay away”, and his 35%/35%/25%/5% analysis! Here’s the thing: I’m in my early 60s but very fit, young in mind and heart and definitely want some mongering activity daily. When I go to Pattaya I stay in Pratumnak or Jomtien because Pattaya is too loud, too busy, and only 10 mins in a Bolt so I can pop in for the fun and return to “civilisation” for a nice quiet breakfast in the morning, stroll along an empty beach etc. I’ve even found myself preferring the mongering in Jomtien. Ok it’s not got the 8/10 and 9/10s of Walking Street, but I still find the odd gem and I’m quite happy with one each night and am happy to put in some legwork to find her! So what I’m reading about the Scottish guy arriving in Hua Hin for a few nights and being there 2 weeks later still sounds like the sort of thing I’d do!
So overall I’m thinking it cannot hurt to make the journey and see somewhere new. On that basis, what’s the best upmarket hotel in Hua Hin and best located? Budget isn’t an issue - I’m over on business and as it’s my business I don’t have a cap and legitimately claim it on business travel. So luckily the Skys the limit! But no point me choosing on Expedia the best hotel for 30 miles around only to discover its not walking distance to anything! So would appreciate some help rather than just hitting Trivago and picking a most central Hilton for example.
Would appreciate thoughts / opinions / comments. Thanks.

Arrived Wow Leelawadee yesterday around 5 pm. Was led to the bar area. A bell rang and eight ladies came out and sat across from the bar. I decided to sit at the bar and have a beer. One thing that immediately stood out was none of the ladies were smiling. It felt really awkward. I was the only customer there. The lady bartender asked me which lady I would like. Since all were frowning and seemed so unhappy, I asked the bartender to choose a happy lady for me. Someone who is nice. She called over a skinny gal who appeared to be in her early-mid 30's. She was from Udon Thani and didn't speak any English. Tried to make small talk with her using Google Translate, but my cellphone wasn't getting a reception. Tried using their wi-fi and still couldn't get a reception. Had already purchased a drink for her, so I used the bartender as a translator. Beers were 120 baht each.
Went upstairs and she filled the tub with water. While waiting for tub to fill, she gave me a massage that definitely could not be considered a professional massage.
After about 30 minutes we got into the tub. Definitely NOT warm water. Was hoping the unit would still work. We finally shared some laughs in the tub. When she had removed her clothes I could not believe what I saw. Such an amazing petite body with be cups. She could not have weighed more than 100 pounds. In bed she was extremely accommodating. Damage 3000 baht plus 360 for the three beers.
Will I return? I don't know. Someone needs to tell management to tell the ladies to fake a smile and not look angry when a customer walks in. This place might be fun during times when more customers are there. If it's ease of daytime service I'm looking for in the future, I may return. But there are so many more options in this town I'm sure. After a few days here I've collected a couple numbers, and if I had more time would surely have more connections for good daytime service.
One morning a couple days ago I did go into one of the massage places at Soi 57 and Poon Suk road. It was a very good massage. Actually fell asleep. On the turn she asked me if I wanted happy ending after a while. I said okay. She asked how much would I give her. I asked her how much she wants (bad mistake). She said 1000 baht. I wasn't in the mood to haggle, so I overpaid with the 1000. But I was okay with that. (Now will wait for posts scolding me for overpaying and single-handedly driving up Hua Hin MP rates). .

Posts: 109Fun times at Nanny Bar
ThaGoodTimes,
Yes, I think it was you who mentioned Visa hotel. Thank you.
And I bet you are correct, probably was your buddy there at Nanny Bar last night. The older gal I was with mentioned that he is a regular customer. I didn't have a shot with any of the other ladies at the bar. They all were encircling him and taking turns at doing very interesting things with him. When the older lady came to my room, she showed me a video that one of the ladies sent her. Seems he took them all to a nightclub after the bar closed. Good for him! Enjoy your time in Hua Hin.

Might have been me recommending Visa, I try to stay there all the time.
And will be doing so in a few days time.
Joes Bar is always alive, especially when my group of Aussie mates are in town for their annual "golfing" catchup as they are right now.
It was likely one of them down at Nanny Bar too as it is his usual haunt and modus operandi that you described.

Staying at the Visa hotel for four nights. This hotel was recommended by someone on this board. So to whoever it was, thank you.
Got the deluxe room which is still a basic room. Bed and pillows are good enough. AC and WIFI have been good so far. Hotel is about a five minute walk to Soi 80. Breakfast at hotel in the morning is unimpressive, but I don't need much in that regard. Coffee and water bottles provided in room. Average price per night including taxes is around $50.
Villa Market, a big grocery store located directly beside the hotel is a plus. Large selection of beer and wine, lots of produce. Ate at Uncle Vill Steakhouse a couple times. Located in the same little complex as Villa Market. Very good hamburgers.
Last couple nights strolled around Soi 80 around midnight. First night randomly chose a couple bars, bought a lady drink each time and chatted a little with the ladies, but didn't feel a good connection. One of the bars was Red Lion bar. There was a younger, slim lady who was really beautiful who I chatted with for a while, but couldn't tell if she was interested in returning to hotel with me. And the bar was dead and lacking energy. Across the way I could see ladies and guys having a great, wild time at Joes bar. I could have asked but didn't. Moved on to Euro Bar. A slim lady in her mid 30's walked out into the street and tried to pull me in. It was late, I was tired and wanted an easy catch, so I went in and we had a couple drinks. Exchanged Line IDs and went back to my room. Ended up messaging her just before 1 am. She agreed to drop by my room after she got off work at 1 am. Very friendly accommodating service. I'm certain she would have accepted 2,000 baht, but I didn't pay a bar fine and decided to give her 3 k. Very satisfactory.
Last night dropped in Nanny bar around midnight. Started chatting it up with a very friendly, somewhat chubby gal in her early 40's. There was one other customer there who had all the other ladies to himself having bought all of them several rounds. It was fun watching all of them get crazy with him. Several of the gals were young and attractive. I brought chubby gal back to room with me. 2 k. She asked if she could spend the night. Didn't really want her to spend the night, but couldn't say no. Late night and early morning sessions were nice. She wanted to stay in the morning but told her I needed to work.
Hoping to get over to WOW Leelawadee this evening or tomorrow. Will post if I do.
