Baht bus vs taxi de ruta.

The baht bus is more convenient, there are more of them, they are easy to get in and out (no need for doors because it's never cold in Pattaya like it is in Tijuana in winter).

BTW, it's "baja!" to get off the taxi de ruta.

No it's actually "bajan" that they say in Tijuana. I lived there for 7 years before moving to Medellin, Colombia and am fluent in Spanish. You can also say Bajame or "Dejame en el semaforo" o "bajame donde pueda" But when they just say one word they add the and and say "bajan" I think it's a regional thing as I've only heard it in Tijuana and Ensenada.

Staying at Dusit Thani Pattaya. I can't bring girls to my hotel since I will be sharing my room with a colleague. Please recommend economically priced hotels for ST, preferably near Dusit Thani hotel.

I am not aware of any short time hotels near the Dusit Thani. Doesn't mean they don't exist. Perhaps others can recommend.

Another option for ducking away from colleagues for a short time is Soi 6. From the Dusit Thani, walk to Beach Road and catch a baht bus headed south. After about one kilometer you'll see Soi 6 on the left. Plenty of girls, starting in the early afternoon. Short time rooms available in most bars. To return to the Dusit Thani walk east on Soi 6 (away from the beach) to Second Road, then catch a baht bus headed north. You'll pass the Terminal 21 shopping complex on the right, and then arrive at the roundabout with the dolphin statute. The baht bus will turn left and you'll see the Dusit Thani on your right.

I am reaching Pattaya tomorrow and spending 2 days in Pattaya and 1 day in Bangkok. I have here come with a group of work colleagues and staying at Dusit Thani Pattaya. I can't bring girls to my hotel since I will be sharing my room with a colleague.

Please recommend economically priced hotels for ST, preferably near Dusit Thani hotel so that I can take in girls when time permits.

Also forgot to mention that I was able to get the Line of every girl I went upstairs with on Soi 6.

Almost all Soi 6 and beer bar girls will happily give anyone their Line. You don't even need to buy them a drink. Had several last trip who wanted my Line and I refused to give it to them. Some gogo bars have rules no exchanging Line unless you barfine the girl. But we all know rules are meant to be broken there too.

Isn't the baht bus similar to those taxi de ruta vans in Tijuana where you flag them down and hop in and then it drives along a fixed route and you yell something to the driver when you want to get out (in Mexico it's bajan) then you hop out and pay the driver the fee, preferably exact amount in coins or a small bill. I imagine if you paid with a large bill this would be problematic as the driver may not have enough change to give you back your change, and it would take him time to stop anf count out the money for your change even if he did have it. From my life experience in different countries, I would say always carry coins on you for the baht bus.

Should be noted that you can only avoid bar fine when she is not on the clock. If you make a true connection with one of them, arrange to bar fine them just to get them off work. Treat them well and have them throw in the sex for free. Not my thing, but I have a few friends that run that game.

What should I be looking to do when I'm in Treetown? There's a larger concentration of establishments than any other place in Pattaya that I've seen. They don't have the Soi 6 type of bars that I know of. I don't smoke or drink and not interested in buying any more than 1 lady drink (and I don't even like buying that one). I briefly stopped at a few places there last December and sat with girls who were obviously just trying to milk me for lady drink money. I went to a BJ bar (Maggie Mays, I believe) that was not much cheaper than FS on Soi 6, with less selection and less attractive girls. I went to a few massage places there and it was BJ only for 1100. Is there something I'm missing as to why this place might be better than Soi 6?

Pattaya Part II (3 Nights) -.

Ended up returning to Thailand a few weeks later but this time kind of had it figured out. Instead of taking a bus from the airport, I booked an SUV. I stayed at a 5-star hotel across the street from a huge mall. I was far less concerned about appearances and embraced what I was there for. Used the bellboys and hotel staff to my advantage this time around.

As far the girls, I tried to avoid girls with fake breasts this time around. Also avoided porn and other girls for two weeks leading up to it.

Went through 9-10 girls in less than 72-hours.

Your opinion would rise above the level of silly if you had left your hotel and explored. You can't form an opinion about anywhere just staying in a 30 meter box and calling room service for everything.

It's always better to have the 10 baht ready when you leave the baht bus. It's a waste of time for the driver to look for the change to give you back, in many cases he is blocking the traffic too. As said by another poster earlier, buy a small 5 baht bottle of water in 7/11 to get the change before boarding the baht bus.
