At least at Chicago, but I think just about everywhere. Now the greedy owners have pushed drink prices to, what, $11 now? The peso is running between 17:1 and 19:1, soon to be 20:1. And the chicas get 50 pesos.

So, in the last 15 years or so, the girls went from $3 a drink to just over $2 a drink, while contending with massive inflation. Meanwhile, the bars went from a $3 profit on ficha drinks to over $8 profit. Proving, once again, that HK management truly cares deeply about the welfare of its employees.

I ran into a 70 year old expat in Medellin and he said he gets two 90 day visas in Colombia, then has to leave. He cycles through a few places, knows deal and where to life cheaply, and has girlfriends in each place he visits. Occasionally he takes a break and spends a few months in the states at his sister's place. To me that could be a pretty fun way to end my days.

"Ficha" not "fecha. " Ficha is the Spanish word for card (like maybe an index card, not a credit card which is usually tarjeta), or maybe token. Because they receive a "ficha" when the drink is sold.

A "fecha" is a date, as in calendar.

It's funny you hate the fools running TX yet many are leaving CA to go to TX because the fools that run CA. I don't know what you were offered but I would have to be a lot for me to leave the 949 to move to TX. Hopefully you get to come back sometime soon.

I think we can all agree that this board only survives by guys writing about what they discovered when traveling.
