SubCmdr, as someone who frequents WS Go Go's (a lot) & G Clubs, my opinion is that they are not mutually exclusive. I see the merits in both venues. I'm just here to write about my own experiences and to pass answers to questions that I asked myself recently, and that I feel can be helpful to others. I visited: Kink, Sugar Sugar, Dolls LK, Las Vegas, Paradise, Crystal Club, and Fever in LK; Red Hot & Blue and Stunners in Buakhao; Playgirlz and Heaven Above in Boomerang and Windmill in WS. I also visited Pinup previous time around and. Katoeys Are Us, out of curiosity.

My general conclusion is that non of these clubs are bad, I would claim the differences with few exceptions, are mainly about how fully dressed the women are (all full bikini; all full bikini with 1 dancer topless. But that might depend on your luck, time of the day etc. - you definitely want to consider coming back later if the place is empty. Feel free to do a self-guided gogo crawl, it's probably the simplest method.

So what are the exceptions, outliers and funny visits?

Kink. Obviously!

Stunners. This is my new catch. It's a very small (narrow) gogo, and located pretty far from LK, separate from all the other venues. It's essentially "the local gogo", just like you have your local shop, your local library and your local pub. The customers are in large majority living locally (mainly farang), the atmosphere is light and unofficial, the girls are chatting even when on stage, but it's in a good way, the customer doesn't feel left out. It's a low-stress atmosphere. The mamasan sat next to me and started talking, which at first made me wary, but turned out she just really wanted to know what I'd like. I didn't really tell her, but the first girl to approach me seemed pretty good looking, but most of all extremely friendly, so I bought her a drink. It was fun, so when she offered for a friend of her's to join, I agreed. The girls were very easy going, eager to please and easy to joke with, and I found ways of making the first one burst out laughing consistently absolutely every single time, at wish. What can I say, that was a lot of fun! The funniest part was when they looked at my drinks' bill (reasonable.) and they were alarmed. But that just tells you what type of customers they have.

Windmill. Two years ago I loved it even more than Kink. The girls were perhaps not as good-looking as in Kink, but they were wilder and more enthusiastic. Some would look at me as if they're just going to rape me there and then! This time around, a bit confused by the changes and the 2 Windmills, I entered the new Windmill on the left, were I was shoved (gently, but still) by staff to a table on the ground floor, before I could even look around. I got high-pressure drink requests, but there wasn't much happening, not as much as in Kink anyway. Well, I drunk up my own beer, payed and left. 
 A few days later I rolled by, this time I avoided the crowded staff in front of the "new" Windmill on the left and pointed straight to the "old" Windmill. They got the message. Anyway, I went in, and straight upstairs. There were 8 girls who forgot to put on their underwear standing on the main stage, and 2-3 more girls sitting naked in an extension of the stage. Customers close to the stage were mainly 60-year old local expat regulars, all drinking their draft beers, just 1 or 2 buying LDs, but all pretty happy. I bought an LD, got a lap dance and some touching, it was quite OK, but Kink still wins for me. At least this time around. But if you stay closer to Walking Street, might be worth a try.

Sugar Sugar. Mentioned in a previous post.

Playgirlz. I felt somewhat out of place there. It wasn't too crowded, but I was actually told twice "you can't sit here" without being told where I can sit. But ah well, perhaps they were having a bad day. Anyway, I sit down, get offered the card, and the first pages are bottles of alcohol for 5000 THB etc. , before I get to the beer section at the very end. Hmm. Then there are these ladies walking around with enormous bunches of fake plastic THB bills around their necks. I've seen similar in other gogos, but these were much larger. It was all screaming, at least to me: spend all the money you have. Yes, I know that's their brand, and I went out of curiosity, I can even imagine customers who will want to throw around that cash! But honestly, I was hoping for something more eccentric, like (fake) pearls everywhere, gold paint, some sort of throne and crown for the big spender. Perhaps something more gangsta, like in 50 Cent's PIMP music video! Either way, curiosity satisfied.

Red Hot & Blue. Gogo / GC hybrid, or that's how they market themselves. It was pretty empty, I was the 3rd or 4th customer. There was one guy, perhaps Indian, who did not abandon eye contact with his phone even for a second for a good 15 minutes, and looked very sad. A roughly 55-year old white man was playing Connect-4 with a lady (in a gogo! And I think there was an Asian customer just sitting with a beer. Three ladies were prancing on a mini-stage, no eye contact with anybody. Actually, I was having a good time and giggling, because it felt a bit like a scene in a movie. Hoping to lighten up the mood, I started prancing myself, the 3 girls eventually caught on, synched with me and smiled. Even the Indian dude took eyes off his phone and started laughing, clapping and waving his arms. Yuppie! I sat down with a smile. The waitress ran up to me and asked: 3 lady drinks for the ladies? Well, no. I answered. - Oh! - answered the waitress and ladies, and they all immediately left to smoke cigarettes outside. It was still a memorable and fun visit, but not for the reasons I'd imagined. Might be more conventional fun when crowded.

Heaven Above. Supposedly a gogo / GC hybrid. Some of the girls are stunners as per reputation, yes, but most are pretty average IMHO, and I noticed one that I would rate as a 3. The girls mostly dance on the table (well, they bend their legs), which I've been told is a wonder for leg lovers, but not for me. The girls are pretty insistent about drinks. It's worth noting, that this club does have its wild enthusiasts. I'm not quite sure where that comes from, I did not notice any giggles, shenanigans, or enthusiastic conversations, mostly topless women sitting next to men and sipping on their drinks. But ah well, whatever rocks your boat! I bought a drink for one young girl, but all she did was sit next to me, nod her head and sometimes smile awkwardly, with very little conversation despite some level of English. I wasn't very happy, but indeed I should have tested the water more: my bad! So I tried switching to an older lady who kept catching eye contact with me and smiling and smiling. But somehow her enthusiasm subsided, and then she misunderstood my lady drink orders. Nothing terrible, but all together that was a bit of a mood killer. Of course I could have sorted it out with the boss, but I just felt like moving on to the next place.

Katoeys Are Us. I went there 2 years ago or so, it's a ladyboy gogo. Yes, I went there on purpose, although I have (nor had) any sexual interest in ladyboys. I don't know how things have changed since then, but if they haven't changed too much, I'd recommend a visit if you're a tourist! Just be nice, and absolutely never laugh in their faces. That's universal advice for interaction with anyone, but I just have to mention it. So preferably, go there before drinking and not drunk. The performers were very nice, no pressure whatsoever, and it was all interesting, a one-time experience that satisfied my curiosity. I even bought a LD (or LBD) for some conversation. It was quite the opposite experience of what you might think passing by certain spots in the Buakhao area. Anyone who's been to Central Pattaya must know what I'm talking about.

Pinup. Also visited 2 years ago out of curiosity, but I hear from other forums that little has changed. It's mainly a pickup spot for the hottest and most pricey stunners, visited mostly by Asian customers. It's worth buying a beer and spending 20 or 30 minutes just looking at the scene, even if you don't plan to "buy".
