Oh, I love a good logistical exercise! Ok, here's how I would maximise 17 hours in BKK. I would book a hotel or Airbnb in the Sukhumvit Soi 15 area, for strategic reasons. I'd book 2 nights (yes, 2!) to ensure that my room is ready when I get there (landing at 6 am will have you at the room around 8 am, which is 7 hours before conventional checkin times). I'd get something comfortable, with a pool and some decent aesthetics to calm the brain.

Then upon arrival, a quick nap if necessary, shower, swim and perhaps breakfast nearby. Then at 11 am I'd hit up Wood Bar or one of the many BJ spots to get a nice looking girl to kneel down and suck me off until I pump a load into her mouth. To enhance the experience, I might pre-wank (not to completion) to enlarge the load, but that's just cause I'm a perv. I aprreciate the advice, as I would like to make cashless payments from time to time. However, there really is no nightmare using an ATM card. For American bank accounts, the Fair Credit Billing Act limits liability to a fraud to $50 if reported within 60 days. /.

A few years before the pandemic, my Bank of America ATM card was cloned in Rio de Janeiro. The assholes withdrew and charged about $21000 to my account in just a few days. The bank reimbursed me 100% (for some reason, they did not even charge me the $50!

You get all your foreign card fees reimbursed and you think cash is king. Wrong again! Do you know how many holidays have become nightmares here in Thailand because a drunk tourist leaves his card in an ATM machine not connected to a major bank and can't contact the bank in time before they confiscate the card? Keep your foreign cards in your safe for emergencies and use your Thai bank account to go cashless. If you need cash for some off chance, you can do a card less withdrawal using your phone. Simple and easy. CASH IS NOT KING HERE NOW. I even pay every girl using this method. Never cash.

Definitely good advice but I don't want to open a wise or local bank account. I'm not in Thailand long enough. I use my Schwab card at ATMs and Samsung Pay at 7-11's, nearly all restaurants, and some other merchants. Tap to pay.

(Samsung, Apple, Google Pay) has become more popular in the last few years which leads to more cashless transactions. Many ATMs I use, especially Krungdri ATMs, make you remove your card before dispensing cash. Great for forgetful people like me.

There it is. Use your Thai bank account to pay by scanning QR code, transferring to their account using their account number or phone number with prompt pay. Every bar accepts this way to pay except the Fuck wish group in Pattaya as they don't want to show transfers coming into anyone's account.

What's that? You think you can't get a Thai bank account on a tourist visa or visa exempt entry. Alas you are wrong.

Full proof strategy. Link up your foreign account to wise and use it to transfer your vacation money to your Thai bank account. Stick your foreign cards in a safe in the hotel only for emergencies.

I remember my very first trip to Thailand. From Suvarnabhumi to Pattaya taxi ride. I was a bit clueless on what baht looked like. Taxi was something like 1300. I gave the taxi a 100 and a 500 thinking I was giving a nice tip. I thought the 100 was a 1000 after 24 hours of travel. I was deservingly reamed at by the taxi driver.
