If we are talking about mongering, let's say "bar" is a beer bar. Beer bars are located in places like Soi Bukao, Soi 6, Tree Town, Soi Maid in Thailand , and let's say Myth bar complex. They are also located in other areas as well, but these are the more well known areas. In these beer bars you can sit and buy drinks for yourself and chill. These bars also have girls working there and you can buy them a lady drink that will cost around 150 Baht give or take 10-20 Baht either way. The girls will mess around with you in the bar by twerking, dancing, sticking their hand down your pants and give you a wank for a few seconds and so on. Bar owners got deals on their rents during covid and most of those are now coming due for renewal at a higher rate. Some signed 2 or 3 year leases to lock in a lower rent. Those are being increased now for their renewals. You are only speculating where I am getting my info from

I'm not speculating, it's simply the law of supply and demand. If the demand goes up, prices go up.
Or can go up, I must say, because in reality there are more factors involved of course, like the cost of the leases that you mentioned, the competition, the wages for the staff, and so on.

And by the way, the price increases due to the influx of Koreans and Japanese already started years before Covid.

What about inflation? Most expats in Pattaya refuse to believe inflation even exists in Thailand and it never exists in Pattaya in their minds. These are the same punters that complain that prices go up. They think girls and bars should continue too charge the same forever I think. Yes, we all want to save money and that's a given. However, inflation is a real thing in Thailand too. Maybe foreigners don't want to believe it or see it, but the Thais do. I have been in Thailand for 15 years and I kn ow you have been coming here for a long time as well. Rents are higher, food costs are higher, fuel prices are higher. Do I need to go on?

Yes. You should go on. In 16 years my rent has not gone up 1 baht in Pattaya. Still paying the same 4500 baht that I always have. My water bill is still the same 150 baht / month. Still getting 1. 5 liters of water out of the machine for 1 baht.

Maybe the rent that property owners are charging bars have gone up, I do not know. The only things outside of bar fines / girls that I have seen any significant inflation on is fuel and cigarettes. I do not smoke, but it was the government that added more taxes to make the price on cigarettes to increase with the excuse of trying to curtail smoking.

I remember a couple years back when either Chang or Singha wanted to increase the price of their bottled water and there was a big to do about it. The government told them that they could not do it. It would stand that if fuel prices go up then the price of other goods should go up because the products have to be produced and transported using more expensive fuel costs. But I really have not seen that at all.

Fuel prices have indeed doubled. I remember when it would cost 120 baht to fill up my motorbike. It is now 240 baht. But as I have said many times before, I am still paying the same prices for other things as I first did 16 years ago. Ride to and from the airport still 800 and 1000 respectively even though the price of fuel has doubled.

Should the price of hookers go up? I don't see why not. But as has been said many times before, if there is any inflation, the doubling and tripling of hookers prices is working independently of any other inflation that may exist. If that was not the case then I would expect my rent to be at least 10,000 baht by now. And a few of those gogo girls do live in my building!

In your world I guess that means that if you tip a waitress in a restaurant let's say 500 Baht, which by the way, I have done before, then the restaurant will raise all the prices on the menu. Sorry, but you have lost this one. That tip would have nothing to do with the restaurant raising their prices on the menu in any city in the world. How would they even know if you handed the money directly to the server. Do you think all staff inform the owner or manager of the tips and the amounts that they receive from customers. The answer is "no". Then there are the places that share tips. Meaning they put the tips into a pot and divide them up at the end of the shift. The business owner will not raise prices because the staff get good tips. They raise prices because of inflation. If their expenses go up, they will raise prices. For example, the bar on walking street renews their bar lease and the rate was increased. They will try to make that up by raising prices for drinks or the bar fine. What they won't do is raise the bar fine or drink prices if they heard one of their ladies was paid 10,000 Baht ST by a Korean punter who she gave BBFS CIP to and allowed him to film the whole encounter. This tip she received for doing this will have no bearing on whether the bar will increase their drink prices or not.

So, in summary, whether the good tips are just once in a while or happen often, the business will not raise their prices because if this.

But I am a business owner. When inputs to produce your products or services go up, you have to either eat the costs as they detract from your bottom line, or raise the costs (within the confines of market restrictions) in order to increase revenue, or cut costs in such a way that it does not impact the quality of your product or service. Possibly all three. This is why I comment all the time about wage slaves. People may not like my term. But if you have not ever had to make a payroll then you don't know what pressure is about. It was easier to confront armed opponents than to run the business I currently own. I do not envy bar owners and would not like to be in their position.

It had also a lot to do with the amounts of money they were spending, and that included tips. I disagree. Pattaya has villas, resorts, 5 star hotels, penthouses, suites, top fine dining restaurants, and other things considered "classy. Hilton Pattaya is right off beach road, which I definitely consider classy.

As a backpacker, I plan to visit and stay in Thailand for 35 days this Dec (preferably Pattaya, as it tends to be cheaper than Bangkok and Phuket).

I'm eager to immerse myself in the local culture, explore nearby attractions during the day, and experience the vibrant nightlife.

I would appreciate it if anyone could recommend accommodation in Pattaya for a 35-day longer stay. I'm open to different types of stays, from (hostels / guesthouses / hotels) to (homestays / Airbnb). Any pointers like where to look for it would be helpful.

For the nightlife, I heard Walking Street is a tourist trap. I can go for a night to experience it. Since I am staying for a month, which place would be great for clubs, parties, drinks, attractive girls, and sex?

Quick summary. For more specifics, RTFF. From Monday-Friday, I would meet up with freelancers from Thai Friendly, go to a few beer bars, and then try a few gents clubs. The girls normally charge 1000-2000 baht ST and 2500 LT and up to 4000 LT or higher if they are stunners.

3. Gents clubs.

These are really laid back bars. They cater to expats who live in Pattaya, but they are also frequented by tourists. Beers and drinks are cheap for customers and you can go there just to shoot the shit with the boys or get naughty with a girl. The girls working there range in all ages, shapes and sizes and are ugly, cute, sexy, fat, beautiful with the odd stunner in the mix. Most if not all gents clubs have short time rooms for 400-500 Baht where you can take the girl for an hour or two. This will cost you about 1000-1500ST to the girl. You can also bar fine LT for about 700- 1000 Baht. The girl will normally ask 2500+++++depending on the girl. What sets this apart from a beer bar is that right in the bar, the girls will do some dirty shit. For a few drinks, they will get naked, let you touch them, and even give you a BJ or let you eat their pussy right there in the bar for everyone to see. Then they have curtained areas for about 300 Baht. Behind the curtain, you can basically do the same with the girl as you would do in the Short time room. The only difference is that you are behind a curtain while outside that curtain, customers and other girls are there. Generally the girls there are instructed not to be too pushy when. It comes to asking for lady drinks. You can also usually play or request music that you like. These gents clubs are located in Soi Bonchot, Soi Pothole, Soi Boomarang, and the rest are spread out all over the city. Central Pattaya, Jomtien, Pratamnak and other areas. My experience in these gents clubs has been excellent. As swell as walking street, there are Go go bars in LK Metro, a few small ones on Soi Bukao, such as Red Hot and Blue, and them a large one called Play Girlz. Then, there is one go go bar called Kink on LK metro. It is a strange fusion Go Go bar / gents club with Go Go bar prices and gents club action right there in the bar. This happens upstairs, so don't stay downstairs. When you go in, head directly upstairs. Then on Walking street there is Windmill, a scaled down version of Kink. For talent, meaning the youngest and sexiest girls between 20-25 would be Pin Up and XS on walking street.

Pattaya has something to offer everyone with different budgets, price ranges and tastes. That's why it is a fucking great city.
