Is this worth the maximum 0. 5 point gain Harris needs to win 270+ Electoral College votes according to some PA Poll Consensus on virtually every credible Poll Aggregator website?
That and her massive Get Out The Vote / Ground Game in that state vs Trump's bupkiss because he pocketed the dumb sucker Repub hillbilly money earmarked for that purpose, along with the fact that pollsters and 2023/2024 special election results tell us they are now over-sampling likely Trump voters and therefore under-estimating Dem election strength by a whopping 5-7 points, of course.
Time will tell.
The Philadelphia Inquirer Endorsement:
Kamala Harris for president.
There has never been a more important presidential election in our lifetime. The road to the White House may well run through Pennsylvania and every vote matters.
https://www.inquirer.com/opinion/edi...-20241025.html
Voters face an easy but tectonic choice in the race for the White House.
Will they choose the first woman or the oldest man to be the next president?
Will they choose the prosecutor or the convict?
Will they choose the candidate who supports restoring Roe v. Wade, or the man who bragged about overturning it?
Will they choose the candidate with a tax plan to help the middle class or the one who wants to help the superrich?
Will they choose the candidate who backs a tough bipartisan immigration law or the guy who killed the measure?
Will they choose the candidate who wants to combat climate change or the one who thinks it is a hoax?
Will they choose the candidate who upholds the peaceful transfer of power or the one who summoned a violent mob to attack the U.S. Capitol?
Will they choose the candidate who stands up to Vladimir Putin or the one who said Russia could do whatever the hell they want?
Will they choose the candidate who champions education, health care for all, and sensible gun safety laws, or the person who wants to close the U.S. Department of Education, repeal Obamacare, and told supporters after a school shooting to get over it?
Will they choose the candidate who supports the working class or the one who is anti-union and opposed raising the minimum wage?
Will they choose a woman of color who wants to unite the country, or a man with a history of misogynistic, racist, and divisive comments and actions?
Will they choose the candidate who supports LGBTQ rights or the one who wants to roll back protections for the gay community?
Will they choose the candidate who will uphold the presidential oath, or the one who was impeached twice for high crimes and misdemeanors, profited from the White House, dangled pardons to cronies, and was indicted four times?
This bakers dozen list could go on, but the choice is clear and obvious.
Vice President Kamala Harris wants to help all Americans.
Donald Trump wants to help himself.
That is why The Inquirer endorses Kamala Devi Harris to be the 47th president of the United States.

Posts: 7457Yet Harris is still only 0. 1 to 0. 4 po in one state away from 270 plus in the polls
Ah yes, the polls are fun. Glad to see a Winger finally getting back into the fun of them here!

Such as Trafalgar, Rasmussen, HarrisX and others. And that is despite the fact that, try as they might, even the Winger-bought and sold Rasmussen just posted a national head-to-head showing Harris ahead of Trump! Which is why I enjoy referring to demonstrably Winger-leaning RCP sometimes myself.
However, now that there is finally someone in the opposition at least "singing the praises" of the polls here again, albeit the joke Repub biased RCP, it is worth mentioning a few other factors about the polls:
- Millions of voters around the country have already voted, with the large majority of those early and mail-in voters being likely Dem / Harris voters. And people who have already voted are no longer likely to respond to polls. They have already voted and moved on to other things in their lives and pollsters are no longer capturing them among respondents.
- Pollsters flat-out told us that over the past couple of years they have been over-correcting for their previous over-sampling of likely Dem voters when they were over-estimating likely Dem election strength in the 2016 and 2020 elections and are now over-sampling likely Trump / Repub voters, therefore likely over-estimating Trump / Repub Election strength. LOL. Lots of "likely"s in this poll game.
Why election polls were so wrong in 2016 and 2020 and whats changing to fix that:
https://www.cnbc.com/2024/05/04/why-...ndroidappshare
That accounts for why polls have been underestimating actual Dem votes in 2023 and 2024 special elections by a whopping 5-7 points.Levy added that SCRI is also taking an extra step to target Trump voters by modeling their sample to include a higher survey quota for people who are considered high-probability Trump voters in rural areas.
"If you think of them as M&Ms, lets say the Trump M&M vote is red, Levy said. We have a few extra red M&Ms in the jar."
- Polls virtually always tighten this close to an election and that does not necessarily indicate "momentum" for anyone.
- Despite all of the above, at other, more credible and less Repub-biased poll aggregators than RCP (not hard to do), Harris is still holding her own in the national polls and is only a 0. 1 to 0. 4 point away in one battleground state, PA, from the magical 270 Electoral College Votes she needs to win. A tiny amount that even if the reading of polls at this late stage where record numbers of voters have already voted could easily be overcome by election day due to Harris' massive Get Out The Vote / Ground Game, especially in the big three battleground states of WI, MI and PA that are always her best path to 270, while Trump has practically none:
538
https://projects.fivethirtyeight.com/polls/
As of this writing, Harris still leads in the National Polls in 538. Ignore the word "even" in the WI, MI and PA state entries you see on that first page, tap on each and you will find that Harris is actually ahead of Trump in WI and MI. Granted, by a small margin but not too small for RCP to fully give Trump a state by that margin. LOL. Harris is behind Trump in PA by 0. 3 point.
538 Who Is Favored To Win
https://projects.fivethirtyeight.com...tion-forecast/
Scroll down to the state polling favored to win and you will see Harris is still ahead of Trump in WI and MI and only 0. 4 point in PA separates her from 270+ EC Votes.
Nate Silver Bulletin
https://www.natesilver.net/p/nate-si...on-polls-model
Again, there Harris is still ahead in the National Polls, ahead in WI, ahead in MI and only 0. 2 point in PA from 270+ EC Votes.
Race To The White House
https://www.racetothewh.com/president/polls
Yes again, there Harris is still ahead in the National Polls and still hitting 270+ EC Votes.
As far as banking on the polls goes for this election outcome, unless Trump is even dumber than he looks and sounds, his awareness of the demonstrably Winger-leaning RCP vs much more legitimate polling aggregators plus the 2-3 year long significant underestimating of Dem election strength in polls should have him wishing he had Harris' numbers in 538 or 538 Who Is Favored To Win, Nate Silver Bulletin and Race To The White House instead of those razor thin leads in RCP.
Or even if he had a 4 point lead in every battleground state on RCP!

Posts: 7457The American Working Man GAINED Ground under Biden-Harris
Don't be conned by the ill-informed or outright intentional Winger BS.
Thanks, Joe and Kamala:
The typical U.S. worker out-earned inflation by $1,400 a year, data shows.
Even as price growth has surged in the pandemic era, earnings of middle-class and even lower-class jobholders have risen too.
Aug. 28, 2024
https://www.nbcnews.com/business/eco...ows-rcna168579
Anybody else been reading and hearing about this in the typically pro Repub Mainstream Media since this analysis was released months ago in this critically important election year with the first evidence of it going back to December of last year?In the tug-of-war between paychecks and prices, the typical American worker has come out on top.
While higher costs for everything from milk to medicines have preoccupied U.S. consumers in the pandemic era, earnings have also risen enough, on average, to push up households purchasing power a bit. And blue-collar workers have been the biggest beneficiaries.
An analysis published in July by economists at the Treasury Department found that the median worker can afford the same representative basket of goods and services as they did in 2019 plus have an additional $1,400 a year.
.......
This solid increase continues to reflect an improvement in the purchasing power for the median worker since before the pandemic and is good news for American households, the Treasury researchers wrote in an update to findings released in December that first highlighted the trend.
I mean perhaps 1/100th as much and as often as we've read and heard about Biden's age and stutter and Harris' laugh and choice not to have children?
How about a September 2024 poll question that goes something like, "Now that your income is likely outpacing higher Trump's Pandemic Crash and Inflation costs by an additional $1,400 per year, which Party and which candidate do you think would be better at handling the economy"?
Anybody see a poll result based on a question like that?
You know, just to get a bit more real world context, facts, data and reality into those poll questions and the public square.
BTW, today the average cost of a gallon of Regular Gas in the USA is $3. 14, just 24 cents more than it was in May 2019, prior to Trump ushering in and exacerbating Trump's Pandemic.
https://gasprices.aaa.com/
And that is LOWER than it would be today if the price had simply increased annually by 2%, the Fed's annual target inflation rate.
Yep. Thanks again, Joe and Kamala.

Posts: 7457Trump is a Fascist, Part Infinity
Not sure what more Trump's closest associates in the only somewhat real "job" he ever had can say to the dumb Repubs who are handing their vote, their money, their investments, their retiremrnt income and their life over to a textbook definition of a Fascist:
13 former Trump administration officials sign open letter backing up John Kelly's criticism of Trump.
Kelly told the New York Times that Trump meets the definition of a fascist and also said he observed the former president on multiple occasions praising Adolf Hitler.
Oct. 25, 2025
https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/202...ohn-rcna177227
If you want that for yourself, your family, your friends and your country, then by all means DO NOT vote for Kamala Harris. Instead, vote for Trump, vote for one of those forgettable no-name third party nothings, write-in a joke name like Mickey Mouse but at least a name someone has heard of and can remember or decline to vote at all."We applaud General Kelly for highlighting in stark details the danger of a second Trump term. Like General Kelly, we did not take the decision to come forward lightly, the letter said. We are all lifelong Republicans who served our country. However, there are moments in history where it becomes necessary to put country over party. This is one of those moments.
........
The letter, released by the Harris campaign, is signed by former officials including former press secretary Stephanie Grisham, former chief of staff at the Department of Homeland Security Miles Taylor, and Olivia Troye, former national security adviser to Mike Pence. All three former Trump administration officials have become high-profile critics of his after his presidency ended.
........
In their letter, the former Trump officials said Kellys claims were disturbing and shocking. They added that because we know Trump and have worked for and alongside him, we were sadly not surprised by what General Kelly had to say. This is who Donald Trump is.
You have been warned by the experts as much if not more than Trump was warned by the experts in 2018 and 2019 not to do something so dangerous and stupid as to defund and remove the highly successful Pandemic Prevention teams from those Chinese labs.
You have been warned as much as America has been warned by Larry Summers and dozens of Nobel Prize-winning economists that Trump's economic plans (and border "control" agenda) will once again skyrocket inflation and prices, reduce investments, incomes and retirement funds and drive us into another Great Repub Depression or Great Repub Recession and all other typical Repub economic policy and stewardship results while Harris' will expand and grow the economy, create jobs, increase wages, keep Social Security solvent and all other typical Dem Economic policy and stewardship results.
Choose wisely.

Yes, if it wasn't so serious, as vying for the Presidency of the USA, it'd be funny as hell, how the morally corrupt, Repub right-wing sycophant brigade, are twisting themselves in to pretzels, putting out Trump "fires" and "stink bomb" hate speech, by white-washing and "sane washing", trying to justify the Nazi sympathizer's apparent love affair with "HITLER" and any and all Nazi goose-stepping nostalgia.
Which BTW, all this Nazi and Klu Klux Klan (KKK) love fest, is just par for the course, for one Donald Trump and QAnon/MAGA, but just inexcusable for MSM and anyone going near the WH.
Look JD Vance, didn't call Trump, "America's Hitler", for nothing! It is just about the ONLY thing, I'll give him credit for not lying about. But to see MSM media, now bootlick, grovel and kowtow to Nazi fascist propaganda, is bride too far.

Posts: 2386The alt right is the far right. And the alt right's agenda to promote protectionism and raise tariffs sky high would make the USA a worse place. Americans overall would loose jobs, loose purchasing power, and labor at low skilled tasks that are better done in other places. Workers in other countries would be hurt too. The plus though is that there would be a few more cheap hookers in Asian countries as the women try to find a way to feed themselves when they lose their factory jobs.

The wealthy and the elite tend to gain from inflation and the middle class loses out.

None of which would have happened for Trump if he hadn't descended that escalator back in 2015 with a major career decision to start conning dumb Repub hillbillies out of huge chunks of their entitlement checks now that daddy's millions had vanished and all he had left was a legacy of one ridiculous business failure and bankruptcy after another.

So McDonalds stock fall is no different than Chipotles 10 years ago. When they had that outbreak the place was on the verge of shutting down. No one was eating at the one here and I'm sure it was all over. They basically have a very popular item coming off the market and people will react and not go. Its a business financial hit for sure.
