Okay I'm a senior member and know enough to read the threads before asking questions. I admit Japan is a little more confusing then the rest of SE Asia Think I have basics.

Understand the soaplands. Also understand foreigner bias and sticking to foreigner friendly venues. Which really means for me some soaplands, some delivery, and street girls -- aka tachinbo.

Couple questions:

1. Are most hotels in Shinjuko near Kabuchicho girl friendly if register for two people? What hotels in this area are recommended? JP gave me his on recent trip (granbell) but its booked. Needs to be a decent nice hotel; not a love hotel shithole.

2. From looking at videos of tachinbo (I'm assuming they're in Kabuchicho in videos), some of these girls seem pretty hot. I can see myself partaking. My questions:

A. Many seem to have men standing nearby. Look like middlemen. Is that the norm for street hookers? Are these guys okay to deal with? I doubt I'd have a lot of tolerance dealing with them. What's procedure for negotiation?

Be. Is it like Brazil where you have to be very specific about services upfront, or Thailand where you just agree price, bring them to hotel and they're pretty much up for anything (maybe with a little more cash)?

I know this post is a little old, but I'm responding as more of a PSA to people who want to pick up a tachinbo at Okubo Park.

If you want to pick up a tochinbo, I don't recommend going there to do it. Youtubers, journalists, activists and plain clothed police officers are out there regularly now due to it being a well known area. The videos and articles you've seen really put the spotlight there. Also, some of those girls are runaways and / or underage. If caught, your situation will be 100 x worse if it turns out she's underage whether you knew it or not. If she looks too young, ask for her ID. It's better to be safe than sorry. It's the difference between a slap on the wrist or going to jail and getting your passport blacklisted.

Syphilis and HepA are also big problems.

The guys who hang out with them are usually just friends and clients who have nothing better to do.

They want to know what you want to do before they come with you. It can be a little difficult if you don't know the lingo, but nothing google translate can't handle. As for hotels, it's honestly best to go to a nearby love hotel. On weekdays, you can book 1. 5 hrs for less than 5 k yen. Lapia is a good place. They also provide complimentary popcorn, soft drinks and 1 free cosplay rental if you're into that.

You'll notice that they're always on their phones. That's because they network with each other and they advertise on twitter. (Safest place to book a girl).

They also hangout near train stations and at random spots in Kabukicho. Don't mistake them for the older Chinese ladies who randomly walk up to you asking for a "massage".

You can book underground AV models on Twitter too. The "FC2-PPV" porn videos are basically guys who do that and record their encounters.

The experience can also be a hit or miss because some of them are all business with no emotion. You can get GFE, but you're not guaranteed it or they charge extra.

Honestly, the only benefit of picking up a tachinbo is if she's ok with it, for 30-50 k depending on the girl, they'll let you go all the way. BBFS CIP and everything. If that's not what you want to do, it's better to go with the agencies you see on other posts here.

TLDR.

Okubo park is starting to become risky due to mass reporting of the area and STDs. Watch out for underage runaways. Tachinbo are only worth it if you want (and they offer) BBFS CIP. Otherwise, go with an agency.

I love breakfast in Japan too. Fantastic breakfast for $3-$6. Would be $20 for that in the USA now, exact same order but lower quality food even. Things get much cheaper once you leave Tokyo. Once, I ate a bunch of sushi. It was $16. In the USA it would have been $60 and not as good. This was a particularly good value shop, certainly there are more expensive sushi places in Japan and they're not all as good as the $16 one. But, they're all better than 95% of USA sushi.

This goes to the point that when in Japan, choose their specialty. You can't get soapland this good elsewhere, there are imitations including in Thailand. Kgirls offer nuru in the US. Shin Okubo and Okubo park are not the same place. Shin Okubo is a small koreatown not far from Shinjuku. Okubo park has streetwalkers who may or may not pleasure you at your hotel. If there happens to be a thai girl or someone standing that speaks English, you can invite her back to your room and I and others have no idea what the two of you in private might say or then do. It is a complicated discussion but you are legally safe to do this, Japanese law doesn't punish the john (unless the girl is underage) and in any case does not allow investigation once it becomes private (between just two people). This is a one sentence summary of everything, hope that helps.

I could not find any physical location for it, but I prefer to go into the shop and view more photos, and usually there are love hotels nearby. So I walk in and I'll look at all their posters on the wall, asking about the oppai pubs and picking one. The staff will make a phone call to the shop and ask "Hi, may I introduce a customer? He is a Japanese speaking foreigner" They only take people to legit Japanese establishments because they rely on repeat visitors. They are upfront with communication, like sometimes the shop might say back "Sorry there will be a 20 minute wait is that okay?" and you decide okay or not. Around 6pm-8pm the wait is because girls are still showing up - you will not pay for the waiting time and can drink free beer and maybe snacks. Around 10pm-1am it will be because I and other guys are cockblocking you, keeping the girls busy. Fair enough right.

Also, Manzoku will get you the best rate by far because it is so competitive. Luxe for example is officially 13k cover charge, don't ever pay it. Of course on 2nd visits you can use any discount card a girl gives you. Google street maps are very useful, but keep in mind they are often 2 years old so things change. Plus google photos are from daytime which looks totally different including things being shuttered. Luxe is not on the google street photos yet since they're from 2022. But from Manzoku you can actually see Luxe, it's 1 minute walk. Hosekinobako is like a 6 minute walk with a street crossing and the guy sucks his teeth lol. Nothing good comes easy. There are multiple Manzoku shops but to find this one I find the central Family Mart and it's really close. Manzoku is the shop with the giant black bat. A different shop photo (pink) was a 'English friendly' information booth but things change all the time. I saw it this year.

I always remind people that fs (full sex) is not my thing, I go out of curiosity to compare with the USA. Everyone wants something a little different. Are you looking for FS or sampling something unique? Japan has a lot of different levels of play. I'll try to summarize them below. My hope is to visit Japan again May 2025 but not confirmed yet.

Shop types
Maid cafe = No alcohol. Girls in costumes come and call you master and serve you curry and other simple dishes, etc. You can pay for a polaroid with them and play other games and activities. There are many variants based on them, often based on the type of costume. But the basic idea is the same. Very tame.

Hostess club = Old fashioned club where you talk to ladies and get served alcohol and compliments. They light your cigarettes, remember your birthday, laugh at your jokes. Vast majority are no touch but girls might gently touch you. Some offer takeout UTR but that is between you and the girl only and not the main draw. If you want a cheap and easy soapland to try out that is foreigner friendly with no gaijin tax, Kira Kira in Yokohama is a good start. They have rule sheets in Japanese, English, Korean, Chinese. There are much more expensive options all around Tokyo.

Japan is the best at most of that list. When you go to Japan, you order sushi not McDonald's. Order what they are good at, that's how you get good value. Best to avoid any street touts in Japan. Also best to avoid Chinese / Korean providers.
