She then pulls out here phone and shows me money transfers she's received from passport bros 2 of whom she's never MET! One works as a bus driver and the other in a warehouse. I guess you have to go by the vibe, I speak enough Spanish and speak enough that it's comprehensible and if you don't negotiate a reasonable price then move on. I mean, there's dozen of ass out there and if one has an attitude then do you really want to pork her? Haven't been down to Cartagena yet but in Medellin, no female I had to negotiate with gave me a problem, one or two were chatty but I still payed below the US price.

If they ask in USD negotiate lower, if she won't budge then find another that will.

    More dangerous during Christmas time?

    Hi guys,

Thinking about going to Cartagena around Christmas time 2025 and spending new year there. I now read some comments about CTg being more dangerous around that time. Is that true?

My friend and I are from Europe and our Spanish is really minimal and we never been to South America before. I try to gather as much information as possible, to be prepared.

With all the changes I'm hearing it's harder to find girls on the street but I am curious to know if the price drops due to them spending everything for the holidays.

    Simple.

To be on the safe side assume that they may have got something and use protection.

They had all the signs as victims, probably didn't speak Spanish, probably got a spot with no security or checkin ins and why is there 4 vs 2 ? Each time I hear these stories I always see the flaw in the exectution, it's hella sad really.

    Boca Grande

I came into Cartagena last week. Didn't have any pesos but took an Uber to Boca Grande where I had an Airbnb lined up near the beach. The exchange rate at the airport is a paltry 3800 something so I waited until I got to Boca Grande to withdraw money from an ATM which was downstairs. I checked with the owner prior to booking about "guests" had no problem with visitors as he was an American with a Colombian wife. My suggestion is to download WhatApp and meet ladies from the internet. I had no issues other than aggressive ladies offering massages on the beach. Avoid their "free masaje" you will end up in a nasty argument with them.

    Passports have ruined the city

What a surprise. Passport Bros and weekend warriors have ruined the city. Everybody's talking about the drop in quality. What did you think was going to happen when you have a bunch of broke Passport Bros throwing money in the air, making Colombians look like poor beggars, going to the clubs smoking hookah, wearing stunners shades and bringing in gangster rap, Miami strip club culture, embarrassing the locals, and making a place that was supposed to look like, supposed to be good for vacation for families, a trash *****house. You all did this. You brought your strip club, I-want to-look-gangster-in-front-of-everybody culture, and the city shut it down.

Man those raggedy hoes are broke. They do not have any hitters on retainer. They are flying between cities because dudes are paying for the tickets and it is cheap as hell anyway. Even if you did not rip her off, what would be stopping her from telling any said muscle that you did? You are really overthinking hookers.

If I went back into the hooker game, I guess than I would need to talk to the locals and see what recourse the women had if they pulled a "I said 800 k not 200 k" stunt. My guess is the women do not have much recourse if you threw 200 k on the floor and said, "Nah, we agreed on 200 k" and walked out, but the problem is even in the USA, you have crack hookers being made out to be trafficking victims and are the ones with all the rights. I am seeing Colombian women do not have much in the way of rights despite Colombia trying to portray itself as tough on trafficking.

    Motels

Anyone knows what motels in Crespo among Las Dunas, La Cangreja, La Jaiba, are still open and operating, if any?

They were my best venue before COVID to take special girls. Google Maps reports them as still open, but I know by direct experience (I tried to go there last year by taxi) that at least La Jaiba was closed and terminated to operate.

    Thanks.

    Safety first

Here we have another set of individuals who decided to walk in Torices, the barrio that's directly across the bridge from Marbella. I know they are developing high rise condos there and selling them for cheap, but that neighborhood is a no go and at this close to Christmas its definite NO especially on foot. Do not stay in an AirBB there even if its in one of those newly built buildings.

Someone just got their Christmas presents early.

    Stay safe out there!

I was in Cartagena two weeks ago and from my perspective nothing's really changed. I always do everything onilne and in fact rarely leave my apartment because it's far cheaper and efficient to have everything delivered than to go get it yourself. Up to and including girls. Going out walking around for hours looking for girls is such a waste of time. It's all online and cheaper.

And that said, I'll probably never return to Cartagena again. I just wanted to see it again because it was the first place I landed 3 years ago in Colombia. And yeah, nothing's changed except for that it's more expensive and girls are flakier. I used Tinder during the pandemic and girls were more interested in talking more than a few seconds. Now they reply once or twice and nothing beyond that. I had some good times and Colombia is still great but it makes more sense to move on. That said, you can still easily find girls even on Tinder for decent prices. I've never paid over 200 mil for a domicilio.

The price you pay isn't commensurate to what you get in Cartagena. Definitely not compared to the rest of Colombia. If it was a literal clone of Miami then sure. But we're talking shitty roads, weather, pushy vendors, annoying wannabe rappers, beaches, etc in comparison.

Also just saying but if you don't talk any Spanish or very little then the coast of Colombia is the worst place to learn or understand what they're saying. I'm now fluent but I learned the hard way, that's for sure. You will learn much faster in Bogota.
