Posts: 84Guest friendly places to stay
Yes, but they want "those" guests to stop by the front desk where they will check ID and keep it until that guest leaves. No extra fees. The front desk was manned by two different guys around 35-45, who both were very easy going, and I think both of them were more concerned about the safety of the main registered guest than they are with presenting hurtles and blind rule following. They also want you to escort your guest out upon which they will return said ID to the guest.

Headed back to Cartagena. Is the Soy Local Central Historico guest friendly. A guy on the hotel reviews made a point of saying it was but I am looking for experienced advice. Thanks.

Posts: 782New label on an old term
Not exactly stupid question. Those are the questions that actually spark conversations.

Currently to an outside observer there is hardly any difference between Passport Bro, Tourist, Backpacker, Digital Nomad, Permanant Resident, etc, people just like to use whatever label is currently trending. Back in the day the trending term was Blue Book Gentlemen, I'm constantly around many retired American military GenX and Boomers who married women from outside of America and the ones who still rocking the Yankee fitted, Jordans, in the sweat suit with 1 pant leg rolled up are now calling themselves Passport Bros, still trying to be down even though they travelling with the whole medicine cabinet in their carryon JAJAJA.
As for simps messing it up, yes, there are allot of awkward men with extra money who just don't know when they are being taken advantage of and they will get their pockets emptied until they hit that rage moment and start bashing all women for what some women do. As for buying the expensive jewelry and expensive handbag perhaps I can provide an alternative view as to why. I myself have brought girls expensive items such as Apple products and spent more time in ELLA watching them shop than I want to be. Are these gifts? No, to me its just another form of payment to one of my regulars that ill be spending allot of time with such as a week or 2 weeks, if its Apple, I bring the item with me, if she wants to go on a shopping spree then that's even better because I can track how much I'm charging and when it gets to the agreed limit for her services the shopping stops. For example chaica says she wants Air Pods, I calculate $250 max hit the apple store and bring them wit me, she come stay a weekend with me and she gets her AirPods. So from the outside looking in, we don't know exactly why that gringo is buying those expensive items for the girl but if it is gifts on top of what they already paid for services then their pockets, their choice. Just something to think about with an alternative view point as these girls are becoming more materialistic, I remember girls in Sosua use to do services for weaves, guys would pack a suitcase full of hair and dresses and they were good for a weekend.
As for the guys whining about paying $100 are broke, perhaps these are the type of guys who are accustomed to paying 5 times that amount for a fraction of the time with a woman whos not as good looking and got crazy miles on her. Before the migrant crisis I've seen what was in Tampa, Maimi, Houston, San Fran, NYC Metro Area, Chicago, DMV Metro Area, NOLA, etc, usually its all the major Blue cities and the price they wanted for 1 hour for what they offered was more than the price of a roundtrip plane ticket to DR. It made more sense to grab a few friends and leave the country for a long weekend in a 3 bedroom 3 bathroom AirBB and split it 3 ways. Also I've had too many back and forth with too many people in Sosua chat groups that say they pay a low price for a chica but they never show what the chica looks like or say what services the chica performed and its for a very good reason due to the chica being very un attractive or overweight. I've also been on the other side where I said I paid a low price for a girl and I was called out, I'm a man of facts so I provided pictures and the conversation of the agreement, and what they did was go out of their way to find the chica tried to get with her for the same price and when she declined they showed the chica the conversation I had with her, chica got pissed and blocked me. When I told my friend what happened he said I should have never opened my mouth, I learned.

Posts: 782Don't tell them youtubers nothing
Can't really tell those degenerates nothing. The moment someone try to educate them on why they shouldn't do certain things in a foreign country its met with instant backlash with the same dumb responses, "stop pocket watching, stop hating, stop dick policing, etc". Then years later they come to the same conclusion and start saying how people messed it up when they themselves were part of the problem and opened the door for others to push new boundaries. When the behavior that was contained to Delirium, started spreading to Dolce and Space I knew it was only a matter of time. Dolce went from a no filming policy to having girls dance on the bar, on that new raised platform, hookah and money guns shooting stacks of 2 mil bills. Space turned up to a straight hookah bar and having girls dance on the bar then then the Sisters started showing up in there trying to "turn up". I remember right after the lockdown people kept saying how Cartagena was too big to be ruined like Sosua and people should never compare it to Sosua but surely enough with enough time those same exact people are now saying how Cartagena is ruined.

Posts: 782In my early days when I used to stay at places with 24 hour doormen / security I tipped when I needed them to look the other way or ignore certain things. Such as chica arrives without Cedula or the apartment / house has an occupancy limit and the chica shows up with a few friends and were clearly over the limit, trust me on this it helped big time at the Marina Club and Palmetto Sunset, places that I would never stay again now that I know better.

But over the years all that has changed and I started only staying at places with nighttime security then no security at all and I prefer it that way. I just chill over in Getsemani or San Deigo and don't have to worry about anyone looking at whose coming and going.
Now that I think about it, I don't even know if what I did is considered tipping or just bribe money to break the rules jajaja.

Posts: 2636If there is someone to tip, that is the doorman. I always give a tip to the doorman on first night. He will be your best "friend" to cover your shoulders, should that be needed.

Posts: 582My best guy was my doorman at the Airbnb. He took the ids and would not give them back until I came down or called him. Had zero issues in 10 years. Its not giving away money when they provide a service. Its like when you first get to a place you don't know. You pay the toutes to learn the game. When you learn the game you still tip one or two just to keep your knowledge of the area and people looking out for you tight.

Posts: 18154To me those are opposing pieces of advice. (Be smart and tip your door man.) Why would I need to tip my doorman? Never done it before. Never seen a need to do it. Are other people living there tipping the doorman? Foreigners love giving away money.

Posts: 43I've slept with countless women throughout these countries. The average spent was $50-75. But I speak fluent Spanish and I don't deal with hardened pros who get flown to Dubai, Paris, Barcelona by simps and walk around the brand new iPhone and fake tits. You need to understand that the average monthly salary in these places is anywhere from $250-$500. If you really believe the average place is $130 then you are clueless. And just because people don't want to pay the highest prices doesn't mean that they're broke. That means that they rather save their money for other things. Fighting to pay high prices for working girls is really insane.

I'm not a passport bro but I do have a stupid question to ask. In countries such as Guatemala, El Salvador, Nicaragua and even Costa Rica chicas are demanding on the average $130 for service and you got plenty of guys paying gringo prices for pussy and they're not passport bros at all. Hell even I remember visiting Cartagena with my wife I saw guys buying hookers jewelry and expensive hand bags and they were not passport bros. What makes you think that simps haven't messed the game up with give me's? It was a guy on this thread bragging about guys who whine about paying $100 are broke. And I think I was the only person who gay him some advice and I'm pretty sure he was neither a passport bro nor a bro bro period.

Are these the kind of dudes that are going to Cartagena LOL? He has to be the biggest dumbass I have ever seen LOL. As soon as the dudes were hiding their faces you csn tell something bad was about to happen. Why was he even with them, should have told them to fuck off and kept it moving. And why is he giving out US dollars to people. I wouldn't give out a fucking penny not even to a homeless person.

The whole story is probably just fictional. But if it is true he is incredibly stupid.

Posts: 4630LOL. Well, I had my gal buy a Starlink mini dish. We did not use it in Cartagena but a place North of Bogota. Still, the plan in Colombia is $60 a month for unlimited use which is half of what the USA is and why I had her buy the dish. Also, dish price was $300 in Colombia versus $600 in USA. Peak speeds in Colombia were 120 mb per second. Average was the 20 to 40 range, but the big thing is Starlink unlike the rural internet that was there was always working and reliable. The internet that was there was not working half the time.

As far as why Cartagena is getting ready to explode, the first part is if you go to Florida in December, January, or February, and think you are going to get warm, think again. I have frozen my ass off in Florida during those times. You are not safe in Florida until March.
In Cancun-Tulum, you get the mid 80's for highs and what used to be fantastic beaches. Tulum could compete with any beaches in the world with its white sand and crystal clear water. Thing is those beaches are now flooded with smells like ass seaweed. What shocked me is the airlines are now cutting service to Tulum's brand new airport.
On one of my flights to Cartagena, the flight was loaded with a group of fun loving and loud guys. I started talking to one of them and it turns out they were professionals on a bachelor party. They got a big airBNB where they could all hang out and hired a chef to cook for them. I thought about it and Cartagena really is the perfect place to have a bachelor party. You have hookers, casinos, decent restaurants and enough things to do for a week. You are guaranteed warm weather, seaweed free beaches, and do not have to worry about tropical storms or hurricanes. These guys wanted to get out of ice cold Chicago, and I was thinking how many guys in NYC, Philly, Boston, or DC are going to come to the same conclusion and fly to CTG. So the mayor's move to push the hookers underground and prices rising makes sense.
After just being in often cold and cloudy Bogota, it reminded me of how every woman I met and asked there would love to spend a few days in sunny and warm Cartagena. If you want a hot Colombian chick in Cartagena on the cheap, that IMO is the way to go. Hell, you might not even have to pay her if she likes you and you show her a good time. I started coming to Colombia five years ago and have never seen much I ever liked woman wise in Cartagena itself.
