I'm guessing you're planning your trip based on what country gets the better results?? If anyone would know it would be the Centro Rats. As someone who speak Spanish and talks to locals every day and watches the news I can tell you without a doubt that the hate people in Medellin have for tourists right now is at an all time high. In Thailand and the Philippines, the locals welcome you with open arms, and you don't have to be worried about getting drugged or robbed by locals who rejoice when gringos are murdered. Yes there are tolerated zones that are propped up because some businesses fought back but the general sentiment among local is disgust and resentment.

It's not just 'no sex tourists' signs at the airport or airbnbs. It's not just the mayor making speeches practically every week vowing to stop gringos. It is now a deep source of frustration for the locals who are blaming all of the gentrification on foreigners whether it has to do with them or not. The hatred that locals have for foreigners is what allows them to drug and kill tourists without remorse. I'm so tired of people on youtube who want you to sign up for their Patreon and others on these forms that completely downplay the negatives. Tell the truth, let people make their own informed decisions. If this form was honest, every other post would be a story about somebody getting robbed or drugged because it literally happens every day in this city.

If you know people that rejoice and have no remorse when foreigners are murdered then you should reconsider the company you keep. Also, you don't seem too concerned about it yourself.
