Here's another review of another high-end soapland. This is the first soapland I've ever visited so I had no idea what to expect. My expectations were too high which led to some disappointment that I'll discuss more below. But I'll also say that I believe others can have a much better time with Sei than I did if they knew what to expect before going into it so I hope this helps.
Appointment:
After too much research into the various soaplands, I made my decision based on Sei's physical description and photos on the site and the diary page. This was a noob mistake on my part as I went solely based on looks which I even knew were probably edited. I guess I needed to experience it first hand and learn from the experience. Booking was easy. I found her Line account, messaged her using a translation app, and booked the appointment directly with Sei. I then confirmed with her again the day before my appointment.
Introduction:
I showed up 10 minutes before my appointment and was escorted to a room with a few single-seat couches. I admit I was quite nervous as this was my first time at a soapland. I needed to use the restroom and noticed there was a door in the room so I opened it thinking it was the restroom. It was actually a door to another waiting room, and I saw another foreigner sitting there which was a little awkward and a mistake on my part. One takeaway for everyone is that a lot of soaplands are open to foreigners if you do your research. I've visited Etoile, Cordon Blue, and why-shirts. I can also confirm that girls at Versailles and Moulin Rouge told me they can accept me but I ultimately didn't book appointments there.

The muscle girls bar is not representative of girls bars, none of them are because they're all different from each other. It is literally "a bar with girls". BTW Hooters is a straight up girls bar - Hooters would be an "American themed maid cafe" if not for the alcohol. Japan just has a ton of other types, a few with really young really cute girls which would never fly in the US.
Girls bars are unlike Hostess clubs which are formal. I know most guys are not looking for this, but in my experience it was wholesome fun. You'll notice sometimes the prices are cheap like 2000 yen to 4000 yen, I always got it. Maybe 30 mins or 60 mins with unlimited beer. Some are themed like 'princess' or 'muscle girl' and I don't think tourists would be interested in most. It takes some Japanese speaking skill usually. Note that SW from oppai pubs and hostess clubs do not stand outside, I assume for safety.
There is such a variety to girls bars that even women are welcome in some. Others are small bars where the girls are the bartenders and rotate between customers. They will often take polaroids or selfies with you, especially maid cafes. The reason I don't have much experience with girls bars is I would bar hop 2 or 3 oppai pubs a night to take advantage of their discounted entry fee. So I can see 6-9 girls. I have had Manzoku straight up call Hosekinobako and say "Can we send you a 2nd time returning customer?" for the discounted rate 6K or 8K and the answer is yes. But usually I will just walk to the shop and hand over a girl's card for a discount, but only if I like the girl.
Walking around busy parts of Japan after 6pm, you are going to see girls holding up signs. You can see in the first photo below 3 girls with signs listing the price hanging on their necks. Like they were puppies on sale. That's hot. It shows it's a 3000 yen "special entry rate" for a girl's bar / pub. If I had to pick two girls, I would pick the girl on the right twice. Just saying.
Girls with signs are most often advertising for girls' bars or maid cafes where you chat with cute girls. Chat only. Girls who don't hold up signs are more often going to be offering somethings else, there are a lot of varieties. For example on a few streets I will encounter Chinese girls calling out "massagu" - massage. Hjs are sometimes possible but the cuter girls tend to only offer massage and the lightest extras. Extending always costs more, their business model is to get guys in cheap but the next 40 mins is 50% to 100% more than the promo rate. If I really like the girl, sure I'll extend. * Kira Kira made an English website and raised its prices 5000 yen ($33) after some guy kept writing guides about how to use them last year. They also hired a bunch more girls, the girls tend to give excellent service. Multi-shot friendly, good attitude. When you go to a more upscale Tokyo soapland, you are basically paying more for a hotter girl but the service is going to be comparable on average. Obviously, any shop might have an outstanding girl as an exception so we're just talking about average expectations here.

It's about 8 thumbs up for Kira Kira, 1 thumbs down, some "good but thailand cheaper" reports. About 7 thumbs up for Luxe, 2 thumbs down, multiple "glad I went but no repeat" reports. Obviously Thailand is going to be cheaper, but if you are in Japan anyways and like Japanese women there is fun to be had. Compared to Japan's other options, Kira Kira is very budget friendly with good service, we are expecting a "good enough" decent girl not a stunner. Oppai pubs are much cheaper than US strip clubs for what you get, but unfortunately only Luxe is fully foreigner friendly. About 2 years Japanese to get into the others with Manzoku, but Atex managed to get in with a friend and by showing receipts.
If you have some language skills, girls bars and hostess bars are quite cheap. The entry is 3000 to 5000 yen for most places. I have rarely done these but on some occasion a girl standing outside holding up a sign is so cute or beautiful I'm just stunned. In Osaka 20 years ago I met one such girl and chatted with her 30 minutes, then extended another 30. It was only 2000 yen ($13) to "date" her plus 1000 yen ($7) to "keep" her instead of switch girls. I lucked out because I remember her to this day, she said she was 20 and looked 20, cute and adorable. Most civilian women cost me a lot more just to date. Obviously, most girls are neither that cheap nor memorable but it sometimes happens. That's why girls stand outside holding up signs, there is no B+S you get the girl you pick. Once the night gets late, the good ones get taken so you see fewer and fewer girls "not taken". Just talking and beer, a girls bar is no touch but the girls sometimes gently touch me. It is literally cheaper than a Japanese language teacher and when a girl is cute enough I pay full attention to her every word.
The advice on avoiding touts is specific to Kabukicho where there are B+S, scams, and shops that suck they will take you to. I actually never had this problem in other cities in Japan, but out of caution I don't want to simply say it's okay elsewhere. Just that within Kabukicho you want to research your spot and ignore touts, or go to any Manzoku shop where every shop they list is legit since they rely on repeat customers.
About race restrictions and places that suck, the best approach is for us to just go where we are welcome. Give those places our business.
The purpose of the "getting laid on a layover" guide is to illustrate how to navigate Japan's public transportation as a tourist. The first time is hardest, but it's actually quite amazing, on-time, and well organized. Most people work very hard to provide good service.
A reminder that no matter the country, you can make things cheaper by exchanging money at a good rate. 711 convenience stores are all over Japan and they have ATM machines that take international bank cards in my experience. I believe you get the very best rate if you choose Yen. If the "mid-market" exchange rate for Yen is 154, then the Buy rate might be 151 and sell rate 157 since that's their profit. There may be ATM fees, which worked out to be another 1%-2% depending on your bank. CCs can be good for regular tourist shopping, but sex shops often have to pass on extra fees since CCs will charge them extra in turn.

It is an ad site, so just by being on Yoasobi it confirms the shop is open to foreigners. The staff might not speak Japanese, but if you use LINE or wechat their staff who speaks English can answer and help. Japan is generally very safe. If someone can confirm that it's fine to link, I'll let you know where to look. And yes, I knew the price before booking. Hinata told me the total price before I confirmed.
4. Cordon Bleu and why-shirts. I'm not saying they're not great, just saying Etoile was the best. And someone may prefer the girls at the other locations. I'll post reviews of the other two soon.
