The 60 day thing ended the other day.

Once in the Kingdom, the stay is allowed for 60 days without an extension, and an extension may be requested at a Thai Immigration office. It is up to the discretion of the immigration officer whether the 30-day extension will be granted. So we are basically saying the same thing. I was asking whether there was a way to get the full 90 days at the outset, without having to go to immigration for an extension.
This is the correct info. Sub is also correct but you two are just using different terminology.

I will break it down for you guys.

    Visa exemption.

If your nationality qualifies you can enter Thailand with no visa. Depending on when you come, the officier will grant you either 30 days permission to stay or 60 days permission to stay under the current law. Then you can go to immigration and request an extension of stay for 30 more days. That giving you a total of 60 days or 90 days permission to stay.

    TR (Singe entry).

This is the tourist visa. When it's issued by the Thai embassy or consulate it has an expiry date on it. That expiry date is the date that you need to use the visa by. Using the visa means you enter Thailand. Then at the airport the officer will stamp you in with 60 days permission to stay. Then you can go into immigration and apply for an extension of stay for 30 more days. This will make your total permission to stay 90 days.

For those of you that want to jump off the plane as a tourist and get 90 days permission to stay without doing an extension of stay at immigration, alas there is no tourist visa for that.

Longer term visa options for people who want to stay longer than this or stay with less hassle are as follows:

    1. Elite visa.

    2. MTV (Multiple entry tourist visa).

    3. Non O visa based on retirement or marriage to a Thai.

    4. Non ED visa to study Thai or boxing.

    5. DTV visa.

    6. LTR visa.

Number 5 and 6 have different categories. These are the main options.

    Looking for insight!

And more lies but these are used by falang: "my girl is different".
I am still wondering why this is a lie and why the expression would be used. The only girl that I met that even looked the same as an another girl I knew were identical twins. Yet their personalities were as different as night and day.

    All girls are different!

I welcome input from my fellow ISG brothers on this subject.

Lots of bar girls are sick, just colds and minor diseases, but one came over the other night, and turned out to be in the middle of a cold. So, I am holding off booking anyone new to come over for a couple of days until I determine whether I am infected. I did keep my existing appointments, so I have a lady sleeping over now, and a civvie tonight.

One of my New Year's resolutions is to hit the bars more, so tomorrow night, I plan to go to the Darkside bar, rather than have a lady come to my condo.

    Am I writing in English?

The Royal Thai Embassy in Phnom Penh, Cambodia

Told me that my visa was good for 90-days. Period. Full Stop. They went on further to say that my initial stay was limited to 60 days. Which was congruent to what the website, says. They advised that I could request a EXTENSION OF STAY to receive an additional 30 days in the Kingdom of Thailand.

Now, I only did the application once (so call me new if you like). Others may have more experience with applying from different countries other than Cambodia. But I have not needed apply for a TR visa more than once. That is the official name for it (not 60-day tourist visa) as some have called it.

It was explained to me that my initial stay was for 60 days. Then I could apply for an extension for an additional 30 days. When I applied and had my extension granted it said EXTENSION OF STAY. I was NOT granted a new visa. I was granted an extension of stay for my current visa that was good for 90 days.

Here is what it says in my passport:

EXTENSION OF STAY PERMITTED UP TO XX XXX XXXX (date is stamped in) HOLDER MUST LEAVE THE KINGDOM WITHIN THE DATE SPECIFIED HEREIN. OFFENDERS WILL BE PROSECUTED.
    SIGNED (signature) IMMIGRATION OFFICER

As a said before my experience is limited as I don't need constant tourist visas or extensions since I decided to change my visa status and post up in Thailand for a bit.

Yes, I speak from experience. I have had 60-day tourist visas at least 8 times in past years. While in the Kingdom, I have gone to immigration and extended my stay another 30 days. The Thai Consulate in LOS Angeles told me that the phrase indicating that the visa is good for 90 days means that once the visa is issued, the visa must be used within 90 days. It is up to the discretion of the immigration officer whether the 30-day extension will be granted. So we are basically saying the same thing.
Looks like it so, exactly why are additional questions from the OP being directed at me instead of the The Thai Consulate in LOS Angeles?

I was asking whether there was a way to get the full 90 days at the outset, without having to go to immigration for an extension.
The OP needs to contact the location where he received his visa and ask the Thai Officials who issued his visa to him. I do not speak for the Kingdom of Thailand. I only speak about my personal experiences. When I have needed an extension of stay or renewal of my visa that I currently hold. I have either gone to CHONBURI IMMIGRATION myself. Or I have hired a visa agency here in Pattaya to assist me with the process.

    I hope this helps!

I am seeing some strange lights in the when I walk by the beach. Looks like a drone or that weed I been smoking is wickedly strong and fucking with my head.

    ROTFLMAO!

    Here's a rumor:

There are so many bargirls on Soi 6 with big money walking around after midnight that some bars are hiring Tomboys and Thai men to stand outside and invite in passing bargirls.

I have never applied inside of the United States of America. I suppose the rules could be different for those of you that are applying from the United States of America. After the extension you need to leave the country. So effectively your visa is good for 90 days. As you are not issued a new visa, if your extension is granted. It says right there on the website that the visa is good for 90 days. I speak from experience. Do you?

That would be ideal. I'll have to do some more research on that. If there are suggestions on how to find the 90-day Tourist Visa, I'd love to hear them.

It took moving up two levels of supervision and me signing a waver acknowledging that I may be denied entry and that all costs to return immediately would be borne by me. If I needed to do it again I certainly would have applied for the 90 Day Tourist Visa and avoided that hassle and uncertainty at the airport.
