Indians have always been known as the cultural leaders when it comes to partying. That's a playa mentality. There is a saying that goes "ain't no party like an Indian party, because a Piddy party ain't shit. " Take the Air Asia flight that made news several months ago when Punjabs were living it up on the flight to Thailand. Well this may be partly true. While people from isaan are always up for a party, people from the north, center, and South are generally more reserved and less likely to enjoy those types of festivities except on rare occasions.

NP and other MP's were closed only for the day when EQ happened and most likely because of traffic delays and train stoppage. Assuming ladies and wait staff were unable to make it in time for 7 pm opening. Earthquake happened around 1 pm.

It was a very normal morning the next day, as I flew out the next afternoon.

Luckily no major casualties in Thailand. Burma thought got hot really hard.

Suggest you add at least one more app to your smartphone: Google Translate. That will allow you to communicate with Thai ladies using either translated text or translated voice. It even has a camera function that will translate words on signs, menus, etc. It's not perfect but it works pretty good and will eliminate dealing with interpreters. It's indispensable when trying to make arrangements with the deaf freelancers on Soi 4 and other places.

So this was last full day. Wake up late, did BF, went to rooftop pool had a wine while I was there and then comeback to room. Took shower and was sitting and Earthquake happened. Stayed in room, went under the table and once it stopped, picked up my passport came outside hotel in huddle area.

Some of the patrons in the bar were a german couple, britt and American gentlemen and we just chatted and talked about what happened and shared some experiences.

So an Indian fine seems natural. I have personally paid it at Crazy Horse even though it is humiliating but I understand the reason.

Firstly, Crazy House has been charging the 500 baht entry fee from Indians since long before visa was exempted for Indians. On top of it, they make Indians pay double for a lady drink. Staff straight up asks them to ignore the price written on the menu.

Secondly, there are less racist ways to ensure the customer entering is a paying one. Baccara at Soi Cowboy asks, or at least used to ask, Indians to buy one drink each before entering. If that is not extravagant enough, as I have said many times before, adjustment of a reasonable "entry fee" in the actual bar bill is one way. Easily doable with a coupon system. Even then, the freedom to take a quick look inside the bar is curtailed. But that is a more acceptable compromise.

Finally, please do not justify racism, even if it is against your own kind. I try my best to dress / smell fine, greet the staff with palms joined and be as ideal a customer as I can be without throwing wads of cash around. I do NOT deserve the suspicious and disgusting looks. The only saving grace is the fact that there are still plenty of women in Thailand who do not care about the color of my skin.

Regarding your question about "brown" mongers, I will share my observations from my trip. Most of this pertains to Indian mongers, I'm not as sure how a black or African customer might be received.

In Pattaya Indian guys were stopped at the entrance to walking street gogo bars. I think most were not permitted to enter. I heard from some of these guys that bouncers apparently told them there was a 5 k baht entrance fee. I didn't have anything like this happen to me, just walked right into the gogo bars, no fee and no ID check. My hunch is that Indian guys will have an even harder time with P2 P in Pattaya than in Bangkok. The reason being that there are just a ton of Indians in Pattaya, and the girls / clubs tend to disfavor them as customers.

It's a similar story in Bangkok. I observed that near the entrance to nana plaza, many Indian guys would be stopped. Again, I had no issues and would just walk right into nana. But I saw other guys get stopped, questioned and they would have to show ID or maybe were even asked to pay an entrance fee. I did see a few Indian or "brown" guys inside the bars at Nana plaza..

I am a mixed race, and for the last 5 years, I have been spending most of my time in India.

From what I can say, most Indians are self aware of what's going on.

Indians had been getting a bad rep for more than 2 decades in Thailand.

Rise of Social Media with messaging apps amplified it and there was some truth in it.

But, there are a lot of gogo bars, that don't mind them. They are mostly worried about a group of Indians.

I've seen a lot of Indian men pick up hot women from Nana and Soi Cowboy.

The thing they want is money.

The lower class of Indians, especially the ones who end up in Pattaya are offered cheap tour packages by Indian agents and thrown into a street full of dance / gogo bars and hookers lining up the street and.

They have never seen anything like that. So, they behave badly and since they lack any sense of personal space combined with their boy odor is annoying as hell. Then the fact that many of them have just about enough money to eat and get back to their return flight, will the bargain of the century.

This is very energy consuming.

But, there are Indians who through a lot of money away. I have seen in places like MIXX where Indians spend 20-40 k in just 2-3 hours.

I was surprised with how poorly Indian customers seemed to be treated by the bars / girls given how prevalent Indians are in Bangkok and Pattaya especially. Anyways, food for thought before you get on a plane and spend your time / money visiting Thailand.

A year or so ago, Thailand made it visa free entry for Indians. Since then, I have been seeing a marked increase in Indians in the videos on YT from lower classes. Now the general mentality of Indians (and I'm saying this as one) is trying to get something for nothing so you can imagine the frustration of the Thais when they won't even buy a drink at the bar but stay there to ogle at the women & probably make some cheap passes at them or play them along & leave. Now imagine this multiplied due to the increase in Indians due to visa free entry. So an Indian fine seems natural. I have personally paid it at Crazy Horse even though it is humiliating but I understand the reason. This new type of Indian tourist has simply made it more difficult for those who play by both the written & unwritten rules.

It's the only high-rise building in Bangkok that collapsed in the earthquake, even only partially constructed. How worse can it be when more weight are added with floors, walls, roof, equipment, furninsing ect.

Preliminary suspects are the beamless, flat-slab floors structure design which did not hold columns rigid in the earth movement. Substandard reinforced steel is also a suspect. Would be very scary to live in buildings with all those extremely heavy flat-slab floors potentially pancake down in earthquakes.

Hi, I wanted to get some clarity from fellow forum members. I keep reading conflicting messages about providers refusing Indian and African descent gentlemen. For example, in the original message I got the impression that a non-Asian / non-Caucasian man might have some luck at Therme. But the above quoted reply points to the more limited choice. Most posts I have read imply it would be completely stupid to go to Thermae if you are not of Asian descent.

My question is more about high end soapy massages or escort services.
