Bangkok I stayed between nana, soi cowboy. Hotel older but clean, good location, soy 8 but 20% higher than pattaya, no breakfast and breakfast most places near $10. Also many ladyboys and can be tuff to spot. I had a tourguide and couple nights we sat outside of Nana and watched customers, ladyboys cross by us to go to st hotel. So this was last full day. Wake up late, did BF, went to rooftop pool had a wine while I was there and then comeback to room. Took shower and was sitting and Earthquake happened. Stayed in room, went under the table and once it stopped, picked up my passport came outside hotel in huddle area.

First: Negotiation is still possible.

Just because someone quotes you 4000 Baht doesn't mean it's non-negotiable. If the vibe is good and you're respectful, you can often agree on something more reasonable. That said, this isn't Pattaya, expecting 1000-2000 Baht ST quotes from freelancers in Bangkok is out of touch, especially in the more central zones.

Second: City dynamics affect pricing.

Bangkok is big. Girls need to travel, often from across the city, and they're not hopping on a scooter like in Pattaya. They have jobs, routines, and day-to-day lives. In their minds, it needs to be worth the trip, and for many of them, that means higher pricing.

Third: Thai Friendly has a different vibe in Bangkok.

While in Pattaya 90% of TF girls are freelancers or semi-pros, Bangkok is a mix, maybe 50/50, or even less. A lot of "normal" girls are on there looking for dating, language exchange, serious relationships and yes, occasional pay for play. This waters down your options, and when you do find a freelancer, they price accordingly. Again: different city, different market.

Fourth: Tourist zones = tourist pricing, but also quality.

Yes, places like Soi Cowboy, Nana, and Patpong are more expensive. But they also attract some of the most attractive and polished girls. Not always, but often. If you're looking for top-tier looks and service, expect to pay more, and understand why.

Fifth: Other options exist.

Massage shops, BJ bars, and even Thai-style clubs like T-Ded 99 (if you speak Thai) offer much more value. You'll also find girls in areas like Ratchada and Lat Phrao who cater to Thai and Asian clientele, again, the experience is more discreet and uninhibited. Just know: language and local knowledge help a lot in these cases. Ratchada and more specifically Ratchada Soi 17 is just one of these areas. Some of the night clubs will also have freelancers. However, their pricing is all over the map. Some are high and some are more reasonable.

WeChat, Tinder, and other apps?

Lots of ladyboys, lots of scams, and prices can go either way. Proceed with caution.

As for the poster who balked at a 4000 Baht quote:

Assuming he expected 3000 Baht as more reasonable, what followed was a time-wasting adventure with a massage girl he ended up with. Honestly, I would have paid 3500, or maybe countered at 3000, and sealed the deal. Instead, the guy wasted hours and ended up jerking himself off on an ugly girls tits. Final note:

If you want to play in Bangkok with the hottest girls, you need to accept that it's going to cost you. And if you don't want to pay Bangkok prices, Pattaya is two hours away. The market is what it is, either adjust your budget, or find the part of the city that matches it. It's just not realistic to expect the same pricing in Bangkok as it was in 2012 today.

No such problems using TF in Bangkok. Bigger place so more girls to choose from, always plenty available 24/7 and if traffic is bad most hop on the back of a bike anyway. Don't create imaginary hurdles that don't actually exist!

It seems that Jarjarmissa didnt have quite as easy of a time with Thai Friendly in Bangkok as the above poster claims. I dont even think Bangkok has more girls on TF than Pattaya does. This is a stat I would like to investigate further. I would bet that Pattaya has more girls using TF and most of those girls are selling pay for play. In Bangkok, there are less ladies and only some are selling pay for play. The punters who think every lady on TF is a freelancer in Bangkok and other areas except Pattaya and Phuket are dead wrong and if they dont be careful, they may have issues arising from propositioning a normal girl. There are so many regular girls in Bangkok and they dont all use Thai Friendly. To assume that is crazy. The majority of the girls in Bangkok are not even looking for a foreign boyfriend or a foreign customer. If you think Bangkok revolves around foreign tourists and all the girls are wanting to cater to them, you are so far out of touch with reality that it is not funny.

This is why being realistic is very important. In my opinion 3000 Baht is a realistic starting point and then it can go up from there based on many factors such as venue, location, quality of the girl and the services you require. A massage shop might be a little less and a freelancer or bar girl might be a little more. But if you budget 3000 Baht per encounter, you will be safe. Hope this helps.

Always check your bin when you get a new one after each drink order. If it says 2 drinks (double) have them take the drink and bin back and say you didn't order that. Never be pushed around by bars in Thailand.

I can see this happening often at super tourist Nana and Cowboy. Care to name the gogo bars that do this?

I have never had this happen in a Pattaya gogo bar and I've bought 1000's of LD over the years.
