Banner in front says 600,000 IDR ($40) room with free breakfast, sauna, parking, facility (gym, sauna, more? No dates given so you have to contact them.
Strange I ever read any Malio hotel reports.
Can't book online is the reason.
It's been a while but if you (or anyone) can add an image of the banner I'll take one for the team and stay there for a night.
Yes, I stayed there my first time because the price difference vs lower tier rooms when I booked was rather small, the room with worktable looked big, I wanted the included free coffee since I worked from my room most of the day, and was curious if I could use the lounge to entertain visiting girls. Every time there was a new receptionist in the "lounge" it entailed some discussion about whether the coffee really was free all day or not however, and this quickly got boring as I had to wait for them to call somebody to confirm. They were polite about it, as everyone else at the hotel, but it become a bit boring since it happened almost every day.
Apart from that I sometimes visited for the evening snack (some fruit, and some other stuff I don't remember what was, except I didn't want to order it), and once a girl visited during the afternoon and I ordered us both a cup of coffee delivered to my room as we walked past the lounge. The lounge itself is too small and quiet to entertain any girl without awkwardness, and except the once a day evening snack at a specific time, the only thing you can order there is some variant of coffee or tea if I remember correctly.
When I booked, I too think I remember reading something about separate breakfast there for those so entitled, but it was not the case when I was staying there, so instead I had to eat with the riff-raff.
On my second stay I didn't bother with a "club room", booked a lower tier room, and aero-pressed my own coffee in the room as needed instead.
Breakfast I thought was decent the first two days, but the rest of the days it was more or less the same and it became incredibly boring. The extremely boring breakfast is the main reason I've booked at another hotel quite a bit further away from Classic for my next stay, though it may sound a bit silly and I may still change my mind. I also enjoy walking, but I'm guessing I'll have to taxi / motobike taxi over to Classic next time, as while Redtop to Classic is a fast 10 minute walk on a more or less decent path, at least if you've walked it once in the daytime, I'm not so optimistic regarding the longer route from my next hotel.
Anyone happen to know if grab motorbike taxis are required, and usually do, bring with them a passenger helmet in Indonesia?
Thanks for the reply. It's still at the top of my list, but I guess I won't really be bothered if it happens that the club level is booked. My schedule is a bit up in the air, but the the 2nd is still a week away so I guess I'll see. Seems a decent spot and has in room massage with FS, which is on my bucket list LOL, and the pool seems decent. Seems the best along with Movenpick for being able to walk to the brothel, and taxi or grab for Kota.
Has anyone stayed at the Redtop in the Plaza club rooms, I'm mostly interested in if the lounge is worth the extra price? Seems they have a better breakfast and evening snacks. I'm planning to explore and whatnot but at least three days I just want to pool, maybe hotel spa, workout, eat, brothel, done. Redtop seems like a decent fit, but I'm open to suggestions for other 4-5 star that is a hotel you can chill in for a day or three with minor excursions. Appreciate replies.
I'm also looking at Movenpick, but their pool looks pretty not great or Holiday Inn which looks quite large with a decent pool. Holiday Inn is taxi to Classic but close to Kota although probably a grab too, not sure if it really matters. I just figured Redtop or Movenpick could be a nice walk to Classic or EMP and I do like walking a bit, but maybe I should just save the walking for the mall or whatever.

Which sites did you use? At booking.com it's still $65 in April and May.
Googling now it's USD 49 for some random date at the booking site in the screenshot. Myself I find Agoda is for some reason often quite a bit cheaper than booking.com in south-east Asia, but this is from trip.com, which I have not used before I think.
If staying for a long time I'd normally prefer airbnb myself though.
Maybe a bit over your stated budget, but I see Redtop hotel price per night down to around USD 40 at some booking sites now. Stayed there twice, working full-time, and did not suffer any problems with wifi, though I do not do stuff that requires a lot of bandwidth, so not sure about the speed. A fast 10 minute walk to Classic, and importantly for me, decently sized rooms with a good desk and chair to work from on both my stays.

Looking for recommendations of properties with strong, reliable wifi in the Classic. Travel area. Price range USD 20-40. Don't give a crap about pools, spas or any of that. I'll be working while I'm there for a couple of months so wifi is critical. Thanks in advance.
