I'm inclined to agree with you about the proposed development of the Scandalos site. It's hardly a salubrious area fpr a hotel & business centre with the hoards of street girly infest the poligino. And good luck with clearing them out. They've been trying for years. It's too isolated. That area's mostly industrial parks apart from the small residential island bordered by see / Dolores Ibarruri. So little in the way of shops or restaurants. There is actually a disused station on the Fuengirola-Malaga RENFE line. Platforms are there. Maybe there's some long term plans to change things. But I can't see the Scandalos development failing on planning objections. Who's going to object to it? But I don't think it's a good time time to be doing it. The entirety of the Western economies are beset with serious economic problems & anyone thinks they're going away anytime soon is living in cloud cookoo land. Every indicator is saying they'll get worse.
The question begs answering is the continued existence of the CDS Club section. Actual reports posted by people been in-country are few & irregular. Apparently knowing very little else, you may not appreciate how little interest there is in them these days. Even amongst tourists. You really should look at the local Spanish language forum. And the Spanish are always going to be their main year round paying patrons. They're hardly ever mentioned compared with the tindependents, apartments etc & when they are it's hardly with enthusiasm. Most recent discussions are on how far they've declined in the past couple of decades. I doubt if Scandalos would have any problem relocation. Units in industtrial areas are the norm for Spanish puti clubs & they shouldn't have any problems finding one vacant. It's whether they could attract the clientele to make it worthwhile. Maybe somewhere a lot smaller.

Speaking personally, I have never taken a taxi for half a kilometre in my entire life nor would I. A taxi from E92 to central Fuengirola is nearly 6 kilometres. Yes there are always taxis outside E92 and its not the cost I was referring to but the convenience of being able to walk to a hotel room (Scandalos to Nostrum), even if you've forgotten something or just want to freshen up, or (b) take a girl there. They are happy to walk.
I have stayed in Higueron many times. Have you? I doubt you have because you'the have no need given you don't attend clubs. I'm not sure how you consider yourself able to comment upon it without staying there. For what it's worth, (albeit this forum is degenerating into info about hotels and taxi journeys of half a kilometre) its a decent hotel with a fabulous gym (main feature), a lot of active paddle courts and the breakfast in the basement is exceptional. But it is the steep incline that's the killer. Distance from E92 to Higueron is actually 1. 2 kilometers (0. 75 miles) so more than double your estimated half a kilometre. Elevation Gain is 101 meters (so 328 feet higher than street level outside E92) with a gradient of 8. 3% average incline. By way of example, an average male of say 60 years age has a normal resting heart rate: 6070 bpm. Brisk walking on flat ground equates to 90110 bpm. Brisk uphill walking (moderate exertion): 100130 bpm. High exertion (e. G. Steep pace or poor fitness): Possibly up to 140150 bpm, especially if not accustomed to hills. What that means is that walking a 8. 3% incline some 328 feet above starting point. That’s heavy after a long night in the club, drinking and physical exertion in the room.
For those reasons I take a cab outside E92 into a poor standard hotel in central Fuengirola (which is grim).
I’m not sure how you consider yourself qualified to comment on Higueron as you will never have stayed there not liking clubs. It’s got a great gym and the basement breakfast is superb not to mention the splendid Aston Martin DB5 in reception but the walk is a killer.
Anyway, I reported on Scandalos being (a) open (b) not closing and (c) likely to move if the plans are approved because the foreboding of a closure with glee is (again) wrong.
Member of this forum who like clubs can rest assured it will remain an option.
If anyone has any actual reports of activity in clubs those reports would be very welcome instead of diatribes about closures (false) and half kilometre taxi journeys (yawns).
Anyway - I’m off for a walk!!!!!!

Posts: 631[Deleted by Admin] I've been regularly making half kilometre taxi rides for years with never a complaint. Sometimes several times a week. The fare's a very welcomed 6 euros, currently. It's easier & faster than negotiating the distance with women on tacones. And I don't think I've ever seen the rank opposite E92 without a cab in the early hours. They seem to roost there. The ride I do is probably less attractive for taxistas because the town one way takes longer to get back on the rank. (Traffic lights) Higueron's an unimpeded up down. They may even be lucky, jump the queue & get an E92 going to Centro as a bonus.

Posts: 1928Not closing. Certainly no time soon.
Visited Scandalos last night (Wednesday). Spoke to several longstanding bar staff, two managers, one mamasan, two door staff known to me and a host of girls asking every one of them when the club was closing. Didn't even get one of them saying "don't know". Nobody has resigned. Nobody seemed to planning to resign apart from one female bar staff member whose Mother has become very ill and requires care. So nothing to do with the club closing. Asked Roberto (Manager) how come the architect plans have been posted on the internet etc. He confirmed that a planning application has been made which if successful will mean the Club's current lease (not due to expire until 2029) may not (rather than will not as reported) be renewed. If the owners of the Nostrum get permission and want the club as it is to close, it would mean buying off the remainder of the lease which would literally cost €millions. As such, he and all the staff expect the club to be open until at least 2029, though there could be a negotiation to allow it to remain as the owners DO intend to retain a "nightclub" as part of a new hotel complex if they get permission and find the staggering cost of investment.
Several I spoke to expressed similar reservations mirroring those set out by The Cane below that a 4 star hotel located on that industrial site would be a ghost town doomed to fail. The notion of "conference centre" is also quite bizarre as it is a deeply unattractive part of town, parking is atrocious (perhaps could be part of the new plans but would take a huge area) and as The Cane rightly stated, there is zero development in the immediate vicinity such that the delegates would have nothing at all to go outside to at least on foot. All in all it just all seems a bit pie in the sky. As Sur in English correctly reported the planning process has only just begun and could well face rejection or a host of problems including the huge cost of investment in what appears to be an entirely misconceived project.
However, it really all matters not. The current owners of Scandalos intend to relocate the Club very nearby even if it does have to move from its current site. The is zero appetite for total closure not least due to the significant profits the club makes.
Enough of the boring stuff! The club was moderately busy with good options though some of the girls are seriously trying to push the price point. The lowest offer I had was from my longtime fav there Lorena (blonde Ro short, very pretty, good body) who offered 250/ hour but accepted my counter offer of 400/2 hours without hesitation. Most wanted 300/hour and one ugly and overweight girl wearing a thong which exposed two buttocks both of which were larger than people’s heads, told me she would do a “discount” for €350/hour!!! I hadn’t even asked the price and told her I was “waiting for a girl I know and see to come down from the room” which was total bull but a way of letting her down lightly!
So it turned out to be the same price as E92 (200e/hour) which currently has significantly more girls working than Scandalos on this showing.
Was very tempted by the stunning Valeria (blonde and spinner but her ass was too large for me!) who wore a floating negligee, bikini knickers (CK) and nothing else. Very tempting but for the Brazilian butt which is not my thing. Anna (glasses is there still but there was no sign of the Romanian sisters). Several girls have arrived from clubs in Madrid for the summer.
When paying at the kiosk at the top of the stairs I made the point of showing my watch, pointing to the fact it was showing 12.05 am and actually took a screenshot there and then and enjoyed a joke with the mamasan / receptionist who I showed the image to to support my plea that nobody should call to end the session before 2. 05 am. You guessed it - 1. 45 am the phone rings. She recognises my voice when I tell her that my screenshot shows I still have 20 minutes left. "S una bromita ma, quillo. " she responded (just my little joke dude!) Hmmmm. The phone rang again at 2. 04 and I couldn't be bothered to moan because I was dressed by then and on the way out.
Zero upsell by Lorena for a drink and great service as ever.
So all the hype about it being the end is no more than that. Yes there is a planning application under way. If granted the owners face either paying off the club and it will relocate, or retaining it. There appears to be quite a bit of life in the club yet. All that said, for me, it's not a patch on E92. Sure the girls are of better visual quality, but the very stark rooms are miserable. Nothing but the bed in most other than room 124 - ask for it as it contains a long red chaise longue which makes for some interesting positions! Add to this the early calling by the receptionist, lady drinks at an eye watering 50 e. (combatted by "I keep my money for upstairs rather than waste it down here" which was universally accepted).
There are only two things Scandalos has over its Fuengirola rival. Firstly, better visual optics at first glance (though the abundance of fat asses is not great if you don't like them) and secondly, its nice to have a hotel right next door rather than cabbing it back from E92 to some dump of a hotel in central Fuengirola. There really isn't one 5 star in the entire area. Higueron is reasonable but no taxi wants that short journey up the hill and it's a bloody steep walk from the club after a few drinks. Not suggesting Malaga Nostrum is more than 3 star (its not) but at least its on the door step and if you want, you can pay to take the girl out of the club to next door so the room isn't so stark and the phone doesn't ring! Before now, I've taken a girl to Nostrum to enjoy a couple of “normal” drinks at totally normal prices in the hotel bar/casino before heading to the room. None of that is possible at E92 - but then when you've paid the 10 e for the sheets you go to the girls own room in E92 which is usually far more homely and she controls the time rather than an over zealous receptionist.
Scandalos will be around for quite some time yet - either on the current site, or, in the unlikely event of it having to move, very close by.

I'm surprised E92 continues to survive. It really is a very inefficient use of the capital asset. Mostly it operates at a fraction of capacity. It could produce greater net revenue offering regular accommodation.

Like I said before. Managements will tell you what you want to hear. And you're just another guiri tourist.
The whole business starts with the two basic lies.
She lies she enjoys you fucking her.
You lie to yourself that you believe her.
The gullible are always welcome.
The news stories are barely two months old. No retractions. No denials. And someone's spent a lot of money commissioning artists impressions of the new development. Which implies architects' designs, which don't come cheap.

Posts: 13Opportunities between Estepona and Gibraltar
Gentlemen, again many thanks for all the suggestions re the areas of Marbella and Malaga made my start here at the CDS a lot easier! I am now considering moving a bit down the coast, past Estepona to avoid the crowds that descend upon the Marbella area during high season. Are there any good mongering opportunities beyond Estepona, incl. Clubs, villas, pick-up spots etc? Many thanks in advance.

I only referred to it as a casino because that's what the club calls it! I've enjoyed many casinos around the World and for sure this is not a true "casino". But then not many now are casinos in the modern you would have enjoyed at Crockfords. In Australia (Sydney and Melbourne) and Singapore, old fashioned casinos are dead and have been replaced by huge "casinos" which are entertainment complexes with live music / bands / and rows and rows of machines with very attractive male and female "callers" out front. And that is how roulette is now played with the punters located in those crescent shaped rows of machines. Awful. Germany still has "casinos". A good example being the one at Bad Homburg (my go to before venturing to FKK Oase) where entry is only permitted with black jacket, and every table is double croupiered. Quite how they remember with every player playing the same coloured chips I'll never know but they seem to.
Back to E92. For me, it's doing just fine, the options are decent if not exceptional and it was very busy for a Thursday night. I'm really not interested in whether it is a club a girl knows she can make money at or not. I'm there to enjoy it and spend money not to worry about whether the girls are making enough. But then whether a girl can make enough in large measure depends on what she looks like and how she behaves.

As for my description of the club as we found it at 1 AM on a midweek evening, that's mostly the opinion of my amiga. She's worked that club, can recognise a likely remunerative prospect at a glance. Knows whether it's a club she can make money at. (When I met her, her going rate was 200/ h plus & a long list of regular clients here & several other Spanish cities. But, apparently, money isn't everything.) And girls need to be earning the whole week through not just at weekends. Describing the E92 slot arcade as a "casino", please! I'm a habitue of Mayfair's Crockford's. (Mainly for food & social) Even Torrequebrada's is stretching the definition. Or is your benchmark in the Tottemham Court Road?

First visit to E92 since January last night. Interesting start to the evening as the new policy in place involves closing the club / disco section until around 11 pm. I asked Juan (Manager) the reason. He explained that previously the casino section of the club was barely used by customers and the change in policy is an attempt to alter that and generate income from customers playing the machines and roulette rather than just stand or sit around the main bar area doing nothing. I was sceptical until I came to play roulette myself and found only one seat available whereas previously they all would be free. So maybe early doors keeping the punters in the games area might indeed increase revenues. What was perhaps most interesting about this change was that when it was made clear that the club area was now open, there was no rush from the casino area and many of the punters and girls remained in the casino area for some time.
I was surprised by just how many new girls have arrived – mostly from South America. Back in the day, E92 was 90% Romanian. Now, I would imagine the EEs are in the minority. There were many new Columbian, Brazilian and Paraguayan girls. That said, many will be away still for Orthodox Easter. There were some attractive additions to the roster. Despite this I ended up doing a threesome with one of my long-time favourites Bianca and her friend Adina. Both slim brunettes. Great fun.
The police raid. Spoke to Juan (Manager), Nacho (senior bar staff) and several girls about it. Apparently, one of the girls who the club evicted (I couldn't find out why) made a formal complaint about drugs freely being used in the club not only in the private rooms but in the public areas. So the actions of a disgruntled girl told she could no longer work at the club. Juan explained that it is correct that police visits are very normal, and occur on a frequent basis. It transpired that no drugs were located / found and (contrary to previous reports) there were no arrests or people (including girls) discarded. I was somewhat surprised they found no drugs at all and it tells me they didn't try very hard to find any. I don't partake- not my thing, but if I had 100 euros for every time I've been offered charlie in clubs I would be very rich! And without wishing to be judgemental, it is a fact that SA girls tend to enjoy farlopa perhaps more than their European associates. I just cannot believe on a night when there was an unannounced "landing" / caida, that police found nothing at all. That leads me to one of two possible conclusions: (a) I wasn't being told the truth and in fact branca was found or (b) I was told the truth in which case they didn't look too hard! Not sure much can be gleaned from any of the above but one thing was certain which is that not one of the staff, management team or girls were the slightest bit bothered at all by any of it – which they consider to be no more than something that goes hand in hand with the industry. One of the newly arrived Columbian girls who had been working in Club Vive in Madrid explained to me that Vive regularly has police visits. In many respects, it's a good thing – better to ensure any substance use is minimised, and any rowdy customers are dealt with. That said the newly installed Assistant Manager at an imposing 6 ft 6" didn't look like someone most guys would want to fall out with!
The club is doing fine, there were plenty of customers for a Thursday evening and I didn't hear many of the common moans about a lack of punters. So there is optimism for the summer months. All the more so given the closure of Miladys and the impending closure of Scandalos which I understand is now only open on certain nights each week.
