What the f* is going on with Taormina. Not too long ago I stayed for $100 and now its $150. Is this seasonal or they are heading on the highway.

Supply / Demand. They are charging what the market will bear. The seasonal effect may be felt any time now as demand from US / Canada slows during the northern summer. But they will only lower prices when they have empty rooms would be my guess.

In the Philippines, Cebu island, other side of the island near Toledo City, there was no toilet paper in the public men's bathroom off the highway. Just a 50 Gallon container of water and a ladle. After a shit you wiped your ass with your hand. Then you took a ladle of water out of the 50 gallon container and rinsed your fingers with the water, no paper. Yes, some 3 d world countries do not have toilet paper. However, away from civilization is where you get your finest, most innocent young ladies! Watch out if you go to the Philippines and are in the province away from the big cities. Some of the men have sex with dogs in the bathrooms and this is a public nuisance. True.

San Jose. I had been to CR a couple of times on vacation but this was mt first mongering trip. I speak basic Spanish and can have conversations with chicas no problem. Middle aged not many gray hairs and no gut. Most chicas think I am 45 so problems I look around 50. This year I visited Panama City and San Marteen. IMO both of these places are better than CR for combination of chicas plus places to stay and things to do. I have never been to Columbia or Brazil. Planning a trip to Brazil this fall.

Here is what you need to know:

- I stayed at the Taormina. Staff is good and good free breakfast. Probably the best place to stay in centro San Jose. There are not a lot of nice places to stay plus with Taormina you have easy access to chicas. The exterior walls facing the street had no soundproofing. As a result the first two nights had terrible sleep and I asked for a new room. The manager was great and had no problem moving me. So make sure you get a room on 3rd or 4th floor with no street traffic. It's the side opposite the entrance.

- Room at Taormina had a sign not to flush toilet paper down the toilet. There was a small trash can with a lid next to the toilet. That is way too third world for me. Fuck that I flushed the toilet paper. But made sure not to use too much. No problem.

- Used eSIM from Nomad $25 for 10 GB, 5 GB probably would have worked.

- Buy condoms! Was in the room with my first chica and she asks if I have condoms. I was like: WTF. Yes the chicas at Taormina don't appear to have condoms. I had to call the bar and have condoms delivered to my room. LOL.

- Uber is the best form of transport. However, they are prohibited at the airport so may be hard to get one. If you take a taxi negotiate a fee up front as meters are not used. My taxi to the hotel was $35, Uber from hotel to airport was $30. I had to sit with Uber driver in front so we looked like regular commuters.

- Impressed with talent at Taormina. Many hotties, mostly Nicas and Ticas, few Columbiana. Better in my opinion than Panama and San Marteen.

- Taormina breakdown: The sports bar is small with columns and closed spaced tables so hard to see the full space. It's a small counter with about 8-9 chairs. Nice as a bar as it has many TVs. There is also the Jungle bar, which is huge and cool but was empty until Wednesday night. The pick ups happen in the small sports bar. On Monday hit the bar at 9 am and I was impressed with the talent. Make sure to pay in colones. The first time I paid in usd and the waitress really hosed up my change and had to tell her she over charged me by 5 dollars. A lot of the chicas come in pairs. That is no bueno for the solo monger as they often don't want to split off. I saw a lot of groups of dudes and chicas. Chicas looking at there phones and coming and going. This was amazing to me as other places I have been girls swarmed you the minute you sit down. Here is my take: this is not a tourist only location. There are a lot of chicas looking for local dudes. I think they also have local regulars. They also work side gigs as strippers. There is a local criminal crowd as I saw some of the locals are young flashy hoodlums, I. E. Drug dealers. So you may have to wait a while to get a hit. It just depends. It was not just me as I saw a lot of other young dudes sitting alone for a while. The longest it took me was 25 minutes on my first night (Monday) sipping on two beers. But the chica I got with was very fine and 8 for sure. Short petite, blonde dyed hair, thin, big man mades, nice round bubble butt. Totally thought she was a Columbiana but she said she was a Tica. I was in the bar around noon, 9 pm, 10 pm and 12:30 am. At 12:30 am Tuesday 15 chicas but low looks, total of 4 guys including me. I despaired finding a hottie and then Columbiana Tica tapped me on the shoulder. Yep did her again better then first time. Another time I walking to the elevator and popped my head around the corner to see who was in the bar and solid 7 immediately propped me to go with her. Unfortunately I just blew at Pension Monica and was in reload mode. Got her name for later.

- Rates at Taormina HR $100 +20-25 for extras like BBBJ. I had multiple girls quote $150/ HR with extras. Even had one refuse to come down from $150. $15 per girl to take back to room.

- Sportsman's is the expat / foreigner place to hang. More laid back for a beer. Talked to a sweet older chica who spoke good English around 1 pm on Wednesday. Was too old for me.

- Go to Pension Monica. Unfortunately many pensions were closed for holiday. Monica's was open but only 2 girls in the afternoon. Took the less hefty chica, thicker than I like but she was young and sweet. I made the right choice as she had great head game and decent massage. Clean room and good shower. Cost in colones 30000+10000 BBBJ. Well worth it.

- Dude named Christian hangs at Taormina and will bug you at breakfast every morning for a shoe shine. I took him up finally and he did a good job but asked for 40000 colones / $80. Said get the fuck out of here and gave him 5000.

- Little Havana pension / bar / hotel is good. Small place 3 chicas, one was a 7. Talked and had some beers but did not pull a lady was too early in the afternoon.

- I ate well. Check out Jardíand a Lolita. It's a place with many small restaurants and bars, like a food court but upscale. Gilbertas pizza between Little Havana, Taormina is good. Chimposo's street food was good.

Overall good trip. But other places I have been in Latin America I liked better. I would have liked to explore outside more of Taormina if I had more time. San Jose is a little too third world for me and was not a huge fan of the Taormina bar vibe. May be better to day hunt if I didn't work two days. Plus did not realize day before Good Friday was a Holiday.

Some of the gals in the pensiones give massages, but not consistent. They are basically brothels. And in San Jose at least there are no real massage spas per se. But you can get good massages from massage therapists and go somewhere else for sex. As for Jaco others may chime in. I don't go there. Last time was maybe 10 years ago.

Just wrapping up a trip in San Jose. What Zeos said about Pensions is correct. Check out Pension Monica as they give massages plus extra. It's one of the larger pensions so you should have a better selection of chicas. The hotel I stayed at Taormina had a spa. Also near the hotel there were two massage places. I saw prices for $40-$80. I will post a review with more info this weekend.

If you go, let us know who wrote the more full, accurate reports. I suspect only if you monger in the same style as Piman would he get the nod. Most of us don't monger that way.

Arrived in San Jose on March 16-20 Sunday-Thursday.

I am 55 years old, little to no Spanish. I am fit and in shape. As I probably do not look 55 years old. I use google translate.

When I arrived in San Jose- Taxis quotes $40 to the Taormina. Uber app was $27. I chose to rent a car at Budget ($169 for 4 days)($1000 deposit that I got back within 24 hours.

Agree with previous response that these don't exist in CR. There are some in DR, however.

No, none in CR as far as I know. There were some many years ago but were shut down under pimping laws among other things.
