Posts: 6685Everything is for sale in the Dis-United States of America
Now Musk through a legal maneuver is attempting to gain control of a State Park in Texas: Boca Chica Beach.
Space X has proposed incorporating the area which would give them control of the State Park within their jurisdiction.
The vote has been approved. They are going to name their new town Spaceport.
How did Musk convince people to come live on his corporate plantation? Are my fellow citizens so dumb they dont realize they are economic slaves?.

Just because you can see how a place is doing things in a superior fashion over the Dis-United States of America does not mean that you want to live there. You love rimming Xi so much why don't you live there

Posts: 4634LOL. I think you are talking about illegals and "due process". The Democratic douches want to give illegals the same rights as citizens. That does not exist. This is from a lawyer who has been talking on MSNBC. https://dannycevallos.substack.com/p...ss-is-actually.

The law that allowed pregnant Mexican women to cross the border and have their kids here and become American citizens is the 14th Amendment. The reason for the 14th Amendment was Southern states after the Civil war tried to deny citizenship to slaves. As they should have, lower courts have upheld the law giving citizenship to these birthed citizens as it is above their pay grade. Eventually, the Supreme Court will tackle this. To me, it is a no brainer to plug this hole. American citizenship has been valued in the millions and it should not just be given away as a right to a child whose parent is breaking the law.
The funny thing is I think Republicans are more pro-immigrant than Democrats. We just want legal and productive citizens and not the criminals that cross the border and whose only talents are selling drugs and voting Democrat.
As for China, a lot of countries have done well moving from the farm to the factory. China is in debt up to their eyeballs. Someone is paying for those empty cities, and the federal government of China has pushed the debt to the state and local level. Unlike Japan, there is no free flow of currency into the dollar and Euro, and the Chinese people have had little alternative other than to pile into real estate, and the Chinese lie their asses off with economic data, https://www.zerohedge.com/markets/be...nomic-collapse.
American savings are immense. They are just in the bond and stock market not banks, so I do not make that big of a deal with Americans and their lack of "savings".
While you acknowledge the real estate bubble, I do not think you get how bad it is. The rule of thumb used to be when buying a house you take your income and double it, so the price to income ratio should be 2. That is your house would cost double your income if you put every dollar you earned into your hose.
One reason and perhaps THE reason the great Biden economy is such a lie is that prices of stocks and real estate rose but not income with housing and not earnings with the stock market. When prices go up but not income or earnings, that is just money printing at work.
Now look at price to income ratios around the world. New York is fucking crazy at 14, but Shangai is at 34, and that is down from what it was. But you have Phoenix at 4 and Orlando and Dallas at 3, and you can see why everyone is moving there from New York and California. China is nowhere near done dealing with their real estate bubble.
Usually their home is the biggest asset most people own. You mention monetary policies and deflation but the root cause of deflation is falling demand, and that is a natural consequence of aging. Once people quit being parents, demand falls down. China is in the first inning of its deflationary bubble.
Japan and Western complacency? Come on, man. Japan kicked China's butt in WW2 and even today, Japan is way more organized, productive, and safe than China. Japan's issue is they are the oldest nation in the world. The first thing that happens when you go from the country to the city is kids go from being free labor to an expense. The USA has not followed that path. We have adjusted to lower births by allowing immigration. Like I said, the difference between Republicans and Democrats is not over immigration. It is over illegal immigration. For God's sake, Trump is on his second foreign wife.
And yeah, Japan made shit cars in the 1970's and upped their game in the 1980's. I remember being blown away by the Datsun 280 ZX in the 80's just like Chinese cars are blowing me away today. This is a wakeup call not just for American car companies but the world's car companies.
As for bringing home production, that was already happening after Covid. Trump is just accelerating that trend. I do not get this crap with stuff doubling in price. Iphones could be made in the USA for $30 more not double and with most goods, the cost of labor is tiny.
Some guy with TDS was saying the USA could not make shoes. I was laughing. Since when can the USA not make fucking shoes? Henry Ford invented the assembly line. A guy who looked into making shoes said an automated USA factory could produce shoes for 7% more than not China but even lower cost Vietnam. Once the right incentives are in place, I am sure the USA can produce not just equal but better quality shoes than Vietnam for less.
Do you think anyone in 2004 was saying the USA would be self sufficient in crude oil fifteen years later? How did that happen? Did Americans just trip over oil? We developed a new way to drill for crude which went from being expensive to cost effective. China has huge shale reserves, and they have not been able to tap into them in any meaningful way, and all you talk about is Western complacency.
You think the USA cannot build phone and shoe factories but China can get off oil and coal at break net speed? Please! Here are the numbers.
https://www.eia.gov/todayinenergy/detail.php?id=64544 China's refiners imported 11.1 million be / the of crude oil and processed 14.2 million be / the. Both crude oil imports and refinery runs decreased in China from record levels in 2023, when the country imported 11.3 million be / the of crude oil and processed 14.8 million be / the.
In 2023, China's coal consumption reached 91.94 exajoules, marking a new high. In 2022, China's coal consumption grew by 4. 6 percent to a new all-time high of 4. 5 billion metric tons, nearly nine times higher than the United States.
Coal consumption went down in 2024 like oil did but there is nothing break net about that reduction, and China is the biggest coal importer in the world. If China invades Taiwan, the American navy cuts off China's crude and coal and their economy tanks in days.
I think I am realistic on China. It has huge issues that the USA does not have. Most of American's foreign policy was based on energy security and oil importation. We no longer have that issue and China does, and for some reason, you just want to blow that off. What happened with American oil production will happen in manufacturing. There were more cynics on oil production, I called them the peak oil nuts, then there are cynics on manufacturing. If Americans have the right incentive system, we can do almost anything better than anyone.

From the 1990's manufactured moral panic over “political correctness”, to 2025's D.E.I. backlash, it's one ginned-up, boogeyman culture-war after another:
• Political Correctness (PC)
• Cancel Culture
• Wokeism
• Critical Race Theory (CRT)
And the latest, pejorative assault, on minorities;
• D.E.I.
The rinse and repeat cycle of the right-wing "culture-wars" and PC boogeyman merry-go-around, perpetrated by the billionaire robber baron class, so as to easily "pick-the-pockets" of the gullible MAGA/Repub working class, while further enriching themselves, from the ensuing polarization and things like failed Trump Tariff Taxes (TTT).

This cycle thrives on manufactured outrage to obscure economic grievances. As Barbara Epstein, observed in the 1990s, fears about "American culture disintegrating" were channeled into anti-PC rhetoric rather than critiques of capitalism and a greater, better and more egalitarian society, we'd rather live in.

Oh sure, they would! Bet your ass, just like many of those conservative robber barons, would just love to privatize Social Security (SS).

But the idea to privatize SS, under the typical guise that "the private financial industry would better manage SS" has been a long standing "honey pot", they'd love to get their greedy, malicious, pilfering, grifting and inevitable bankruptcy hands on.
The ravenous, greedy robber barons, under their Fuhrer's institution gutting admin, may well get their wish w/r to social security. But like the "too big to fail" banks, the robber barons know, that should they get their ugly mitts on SS, that after the inevitably gutting, raping and pillaging of SS, the gov't would bail them out, in a "too big to fail" bank like fashion.
After every financial intermediary, management and administrative accountant has "pick the pockets" of SS and taken "their cut" or "fees", for so called "managing" Social Security, all that left in the end, is a hallowed husk, on their way out the door.
This is how, for many libertarians or conservatives, privatizing SS is a step toward dismantling "the welfare state" entirely and the so called "handouts"!

Posts: 6685A Permanent Resident is a guest!
A guest in my county of the Dis-United States of America like the dumb mother fuck you keep mentioning should have known the law and followed it. If he did not know the law he should have been advised by his immigration attorney that he used to get his permanent residence status in the first place. Oh, he didn't have an attorney, so sorry for him. That is just plan stupid.

Musk has caused problems at Newark Airport for a week now. Decreasing staff and cutting off funding for new equipment that would shore up the technology that the Air Traffic Controllers use to keep planes separated and safe in the air. FAA is putting ground holds on planes leaving from and leaving for Newark. Causing a snarl in the movement of aircraft that was a well oiled machine before Musk took his chainsaw to FAA operations.

Posts: 6685A rare point of agreement
Actually a point of agreement. Several of my fellow Americans speak of China without knowledge or facts of the situation. I have to admit to ignorance until I spend extensive time on this side of the world. China exports products to the entire world. I have seen BYD vehicles up close and in person as I have been picked up in them when I have had the occasion to use the Bolt ride service. They roll fire equipment off the line faster and for much lower cost than companies in the United States of America. USA Fire Departments cannot buy Chinese Equipment by law. China exports them to the rest of the world. They have a new commercial airliner that will be available for customers on this side of the world.

Chinese motorcycle are hitting the market with high quality, more tech, more power, lest cost. Way less cost than other manufacturers. The USA is a big market. But for China it is not the only market out there.
As for the predicted decline in the USA, it is already happening. But like anything else in life a turn around is possible. Don't know if I will live long enough to see who wins that bet. But is does not matter. I am excising my Constitutional rights and pursuing my happiness.

Over simplification and failure to read and understand the law of the land (in this case the Dis-United States of America) causes lack of understanding of the legal processes that occur in that land.
It does not matter how slowly I read something. If POTUS does not uphold his OATH there is recourse available as laid out in the the Constitution of the United States of America.

Impeachment
https://www.senate.gov/about/powers-...mpeachment.htmThe United States Constitution provides that the House of Representatives "shall have the sole Power of Impeachment" (Article I, section 2) and "the Senate shall have the sole Power to try all Impeachments but no person shall be convicted without the Concurrence of two-thirds of the Members present" (Article I, section 3). The president, vice president, and all civil officers of the United States are subject to impeachment.
If you are a guest and you get sideways with the law you are going to get deported. If you are arguing the fine point of Constitutional Law with a citizen of the Dis-United States of America you are going to have to back up your statements with quotes from the Constitution. Over simplification is your problem HotDog666. Start with the what the Constitution says then the law.

Posts: 250To add to this- yes, the debt fuelled real estate build is one of the dumbest things the CCP has presided over and it's destroyed trillions of $ in this. It's had and will continue to have a significant drag on their economic performance. However, I don't see their following the Japanese into a deflationary spiral for two reasons: firstly, they have an immense amount of dry powder being the world's biggest debtor and the world's biggest saver. In fact this is their biggest weakness in that they just save way too much and consume too little, but it's also their biggest strength with regards to America being the world's biggest creditor. Who would you rather be given the choice? The second reason is admittedly less objective but still valid: it's their culture. They unlike the Japanese who have succumbed to a westernesque complacency, have still a chip on their shoulder, something to prove, a hunger and a drive and passion that the Japanese abandoned a long time ago. They are still suffering from the humiliation of the opium wars and a burning desire to wash off that humiliation through growth. They do this through both noble and ignoble means in my experience. The latter is how they waste food to indicate their wealth (the trauma of starvation from the 60's still lives in the national psyche) and this is something I've been very unimpressed by.
