Okay, it's Day 7 now. Crazy. Time flies. The Tinder girl was fantastic but had her leave after 2. 5 days. I got sick of the translation app all the time. But no complaints whatsoever. Shortly after, it's 6 am in the morning, and I take a stroll by Lleras. I see a beautiful paisa, 26 anos, with a big smile (the smile continued the entire service). 300 k for hour, massage, and everything I like. Great time.

Updates on the smokeshow 35 year old. Have spent time with her twice and not even a kiss. She also has NOT asked for money. She was in love with a 55 year old guy from Miami, white dude with money, who even tried to get her finance visa but the Visa was denied. She is still in love with this guy. Definitely do recommend Tinder / bumble over Seeking. Seeking is not worth it in Colombia I do recommend Haven Hotel, though. Have met several travelers on the Rooftop Bar at Haven Hotel with great connections for ladies and other things in Medellin. They allow 1 guest per 25 hours or it's an additional 125 k for additional guests. Oh, I can't say I recommend any clubs / restaurants directly around Parque Llares. There's the big restaurant at the corner at the entrance of the park. Well I sit down and literally nobody comes for 10 minutes (and the place is not busy). So I walk up to the guy and he wants to charge me 30 k for a tiny beer (half the size of a normal beer). Well, the restaurant has good views of the park, so I take out my card and he says "no card" and then I take out a 100 k bill (all I had) and he says "no change". Which is all bullshit of course. Dude didn't like me because I'm a gringo is my opinion. It's the biggest restaurant in the park and they have no change for 100 k? I stared the dude down hard knowing what was up and left. Would not ever go there again and recommend you don't, as well.

Sorry, not the best report, but it's 6:41 am, I'm a bit hungover, but wanted to provided some recent boots to the ground updates nonetheless.

When I travel I stay in different hotels almost every night because I have lots of free nights and points to use from different chains and I don't mind bouncing around I find it fun. I also get late checkout and early check in sometimes so I don't have to wait around between check out and check in..

OK 👍 guys theres nothing wrong with giving a gift to these poor girls. Mr. No personality doesn't have a clue to developing some good kharma. With me. Being an expert of course. It is just that the expectations of Colombian women on dates is usually pretty low.

And there is getting out of the American mind set about women where if a woman is upset or offended, the whole world must stop. If you do not like a woman and do not want to spend time with her, who cares how she feels? This whole notion that men cause women to have certain feelings versus the women having themselves herself is nuts. Her feelings are her issue not yours, but I can see why you think that would be a potential problem. There is literally no situation in the USA where a woman cannot be a victim and men are the reason for female suffering.

When I have seen Colombian women out of line with what they want, they get slapped right back into place by other women. There is not a legal system that rewards "victims". I do not embrace all of this, but believe me, when I came to Colombia, this lack of the victim mindset and accepting responsibility for your feelings and behavior was a welcome change. You are not going to hear the incessant complaining about men in public spaces like you do in the USA.

Shakira's tour name reflected that mentality. The name of her tour translates to real women do not cry, they earn and pay the bills.

The victim mindset is why I swore off American women.

I know delusions can be alluring. But when reality hits they can be painful or worse damaging also.

If a good looking Colombiana is dating you, there is a motive. Whatever that maybe. An upgrade. A green card. A scam. Financial help or whatever.

The delusion is that if you're a middle aged male that knows little Spanish and thinks you're entering some organic relationship. Take your blinders off.

That's not reality. All I'm saying is enjoy the fantasy, see it for what it is and stop with the lecturing.

Alternatively double down and know you deserve what you have coming. It's no more complicated than that.

Now if you're 20's, a fit good looking, solid Spanish speaker with US income and was pulling estrato 6 young women, you know the ones that get out of their Toyota forerunner SUVs with their amiga and have 2 cute well groomed dogs with them. I'm not saying the same. But they are not going to date the miggle aged overweight gringo. So a dose of reality is needed.

There's many other scenarios where a good looking Colombian will show you a good time but for most of us its a love fantasy.

I agree with the first part. Again, covered in my loooong ass trip report on days 5 and 6 but the girl I met on tinder turned out to be a total civilian also had a the time of her life, never mentioned money or marriage and cried multiple times that I had to leave. But she never tried to get me to stay or keep things going with her long distance or send her money or anything. She just had a great time.

Not every girl in Colombia is a hooker. But I agree it feels sort of rare when you are scrolling through semi pro and pro dating app profiles. Gives you a skewed perspective.

Has she mentioned marriage? If she's 35 she could be thinking about that but YOU are possibly overthinking it. It sounds like you are enjoying your trip so you will probably be back. Just take it one step a time and sample the full scene.
