Years ago a friend from the US invited me to brunch at Sweet Georgia Brown, the American themed greasy spoon style restaurant. It's not the sort of food I like. I went to keep my friend company. While we were sitting at a table waiting for service, a random gringo walked over to us an introduced himself. Immediately after introductions he started questioning us about our pretty much everything then offered a business card in case we "need help with anything. " I played along until he asked for my telephone number. At that point I said I would contact him at the number he gave me. I'm ok being judged as paranoid.

It is prudent to recognize patterns of interaction. Given the demographic composition of this country, the frequency with which English-speaking individuals initiate contact may warrant careful consideration. My personal preference in Spanish-speaking regions is to engage primarily with local language speakers. Whenever I come to Colombia, I never worry or think about what other guys are doing or paying. It is just silly because it is not within your control. You can't dictate what other guys will do. Just focus on what you want to do, see the girls that you want to see and pay what you can afford to pay. Now I know some of you will say well, these idiots are ruining the market. I would say the market is big enough to still see the type of girls that you like for the price that you want to pay. However, it is true that sometimes you have to recognize that the prices you paid a few years ago are not longer market rates and you need to adapt.
