I am currently shopping for a motorcycle. I am a new rider. I actually would prefer to represent, but Harley Davison is selling an inferior product at a premium price. I am looking at Zontes and CFMoto. But offering ton of tech, more power AND a lower price than even the current Japanese Brands. My vote of my USD has much more power than my vote at the ballot box. I am exercising that power as I pursue my happiness.
Now Elvis 2008 and MarquisdeSade1 would have me pay more just to buy American. In the United States of America that I grew up with that mentality is in opposition to the capitalist system I learned about and then finally mastered late in life. I should pay more so that the capitalists can impoverish me even more than they currently are doing.
Remember I am just a poor (insert color of your choice here) man trying to make it in a (insert color of your choice here) world. I need to save every dollar I can!

That is a price to income ratio of 50! What was happening is European banks particularly French ones were doing the lending and unlike American banks, they have not taken their haircuts. A lot of the reason the USA gets flak is our honesty with the numbers (well, before Biden anyway).
Right now, Greece, remember them, has lower interest rates than the USA. Now do you think that is because they are a better credit risk or they are hiding their debt? A free market is based on honesty, and the Greeks have never been honest.
When I went to Latin countries and asked why they were so poor, the reason I was given was corruption. That implies it is government and not the fault of the people though. What I saw by going to Venezuela is Hugo Chavez and his stealing was a symptom and not the cause of the issue. The problem was and is the Venezuelan citizens absolutely disdain for the rights of lenders and so no one wants to extend them credit. The corruption part is the government not sticking up for lenders.
So when you talk about the "free market" and China, what are you talking about? What is the credit system in China? Is it open? Is there transparency? Would you loan money to China and if so, how would you assess the risk and the interest rate you should be paid? And with what would you want to be paid back your interest?
One of Warren Buffett's sayings is "Only when the tide goes out do you discover who's been swimming naked". What that means is if the French banks keep on their books that the homes in their Paraguayan real estate portfolio are valued at $300,000 apiece, everything is fine. Only when they are forced to liquidate the asset or the government demands a realistic valuation is when the tide goes out.
And banks are not like other businesses. If they lever up 10:1, then a 10% reduction in asset prices renders them insolvent. So for all your disdain for the American system and how flawed it is, be honest. You have no clue how the Chinese credit system operates. And you know how I know? Because if you did, there is no way in hell you would be pushing China over the USA.

Meanwhile 10's of millions of Americans are living pay check to paycheck. You are in awe of this fuckwit Trump and Musk even though they've done sweet FA on it. What have they done? Saved $160 billion by taking the money from poor and hungry and from critical govt programs and from air traffic controllers? Wow. My dream is to have my hated ones travel into Newark on a Boeing. This from the Vice Joker who claimed he was going to save $1 Trillion (or was it $2 trillion) in the few months he was there.

America's major problem isn't bloated civil service or "social security" or even welfare. It's the fact that you guys have been making choices which you don't have the money for and it's not recent either. Have you heard of Bretton Woods? This was a pact post WW2 by the world's major economies to have the dollar as a reserve currency, their currencies pegged to the dollar and it was pegged to gold. An American dollar had real discernable value, until around 1971 when it was taken off gold. Why? Because the world cottoned off to the fact that America was printing dollars to pay off its costs for Vietnam. After it, America realised that the world would lap up its printed dollars anyway so it thought, this is a sweet deal, I print off a dollar, then I go to the rest of the world, and buy its goods and give them the dollar. They then have to do something with that dollar and there's not enough stuff that I make that they want so they take that dollar and give the dollar back to me and I give them an "IOU". And with that dollar back to me, I can buy a helicopter to shoot down a Vietnamese. Sweet deal, no? And That's what got you guys hooked on debt. It harks back through to getting off the gold standard. There's actually nothing wrong with this, per se. But you've used the debt proceeds for stupid purposes. I've previously given you figures regarding the cost of Iraq debacle of $7 trillion. You could have spent the money on so many other things of value but going around the world instigating unholy wars was not smart. They say Russia lost to the west because it was literally bankrupted and couldn't finance its military. Well, America is going down the same route.
Look, my man. I am not anti American. I think there's a great deal of good things about America as I've articulated before. But you do need to wake and smell the coffee and this wet dream that China is going to collapse or somehow you're going to on shore all the production and become great again is simply unrealistic. Try and look at things objectively. The world's supply chains are incredibly complex and if you are a free market believer you have to also believe that the free market operates rationally. Your TV leave alone your car has many many components from all over the world in a way which is most efficient. America nor any one nation has the capacity to produce all these. Have you heard of Ricardian economics? This is Ricardian economics in operation, and to try to refute this requires something compelling. This batshit President of yours against Ricardo? Come on, bro. The tariffs are simply a tax on Americans and all they will do is accelarate your demise and accelarate China's ascendancy.

In addition, the worst kept secret in the business world is that he was cheating on his wife who had cancer. Everyone knew who his mistress was.
As for the bullshit on raising taxes, he is just towing the Democratic company line. Someone who does math as well as he does knows you cannot tax your way out of the debt / deficit problem. The numbers do not add up.
