    Keeping it 100!

This essay keeps it real! Very surprised the Mail got such detailed access and information. Everything I read (although specific to Hua Hin) was dead on point for Thailand.

    Thanks for sharing it!

I have to be in BKK for business for at least 5 days. I know 2 weeks is more than enough to fit in HH but I have to do at least one week in Pattaya and I really like taking a break down to Samet, Koh Chang, Koh Mak or Koh Kood (not for mongering just for the total "escape" So this means I tend not to travel west of BKK.

I have an upcoming trip and am yet again thinking of finally experiencing HH but from the various Youtube videos I get put off. I particularly like the Gents Clubs of Pattaya. It really suits my mongering preferences because of the relaxed laid back vibe, many girls to choose from, frequently encountering total public debauchery with guys on couches getting BBBJs or enjoying a bit of doggie whilst the world gets on with life! For example I love the strip pool competitions in Club Fate where the girls get naked if they lose or the punter buys drinks if they lose. Great fun and adds a fun twist to just agogo dancers giggling smiling and thrusting (all great but gets a bit boring! But is there any equivalent at all in HH? Or for a bit of variety are there any BDSM clubs in HH like Demonia or Octopus in BKK or Castle in Pattaya? If it is bar girls and massage shops and nothing more, I fear it isn't really for me. Just wondered if the experienced senior members who know HH could shed some light on options. Thanks.
Hua Hin is predominantly a resort for middle aged people looking to relax. There are plenty of beer bars and massage parlours, but nothing like the places you are looking for.

G-Hua Hin is a well regarded hotel, which is ideal if all you want to do is wander up Soi 94 and visit Wonderland. Not really walking distance to the town center.

    The dilemma

Each year when I'm planning my several trips to Thailand I contemplate a visit to HH. I tend to come to the LOS for 3 weeks at a time. I've never been to HH. Same question again.

I was looking at below hotels and ditched Anchan and start looking at some more "fancy" hotels.

So a new question, Is G-Hua Hin resort and spa GF, they have some good offers now and down towards soi 94 suites my reason for the trip. Any other suggestion of similar hotels?

Its lending towards Anchan, just out of looking att the bookingsite pictures. Any thoughts about this two hotels? Any other suggestion?

Not that sensitive about prices but Hilton for example don't seem better than the above.

Just one more question: what do you mean by "totally different experience"? Thanks again.
When I'm in Hua Hin I normally use TF to contact girls. The last time I bar fined a girl it was 500 b for the fine and 1,500 b for the girl.

There's less demand in HH so the rates are lower. Fortunately the 5000 b girls in BKK haven't migrated too far south yet.

It's all Thailand, all the time

Don't matter who developed it for who or why, if it's sitting on Thai soil, then it's authentic Thailand. Cause the weather is Thai, the local people who are around are Thai, the food will be Thai for the most part. And if there's beer, there's going to be Chang. Just cause Bangkok is highly modernized and super awesome, doesn't make it any less 'Thai'. Anymore than tall steel buildings in Tokyo make it any less 'Japanese' just cause people ain't walking around dressed in Samurai outfits. It's all Thailand baby, all the time and I love it. Wish I was there. Hell, even the Korean massage joints in Bangkok are authentically Thai, even though they're run by Koreans, cause you know why? Cause it's got Thai chicks plying their trade in an establishment that's sitting on Thai soil. Hence, (drumroll) it's authentically Thai!

Remember what this weird chick said about Thailand, apparently it's entirely built by foreign money from a particular middle eastern country. Who knew?

A couple years ago I took a well educated and well employed Thai lady to a small resort town in Thailand and she said directly "this isn't Thailand". In fact, I agreed. It was a piece of beautiful property within the Kingdom that was developed for farang and run by Thai people. Thai people don’t go there for holiday. Thai culture is largely lost. There are several places in Thailand that are very different from our home countries, but are very different from normal Thailand: Pattaya, Koh Samui, Patong (along with much of Phuket), AoNang, and Hua Hin. Places that feel like Thailand include: Chiang Rai, Roi Et, Koh Samet, Nakhon Si Thammarat, and Chiang Mai. Lower Sukhumvit in Bangkok does not feel like other parts of Bangkok because of the huge tourist industry including P4P; take a 10 to 30 minute BTS/MRT ride in any direction and Bangkok feels like Thailand.

Hua Hin is not Patong or Pattaya

As AggieDad1 stated Hua Hin isn't chaotic like Pattaya or Patong. It is still a tourist town but it has lots of Western expats living there. I think it is one of the better towns to visit once you're done with Pattaya and Patong. I know of someone that has stayed in Pattaya for over a year but has never left there. The reality is he knows nothing about Thailand and hasn't been to the real Thailand IMHO. I'm glad you are interested in other places. Hua Hin is a highly recommended destination in my opinion.

Hua Hin is more laid back than Pattaya or Phuket. Most bars are small and locally owned. More middle and upper class tourists and fewer tour groups.

If you look at the link below you will see only one tide a day. It also shows the strange profile where the tide appears reluctant to go out on some days.

High tide is about 10pm tonight, but it's about 6am tomorrow before it starts going out properly.
