It is a scam. When that guy came to Thailand to start operations I brought up the location in Santo Domingo thinking it was his place and he got mad at me because it was a different place. He had a big meeting to open the location here in Pattaya telling us how everything would be free and there would be events and stuff.

They had good events. Then a buddy of mine asked to see the bill for his free massage because it is free to us because they bill the US government. They did not want to show him but finally did. He said they were charging $700. Meanwhile there are maybe literally 4,000 massage shops around here where a 1 hour massage is $5. (Yesterday I went for a 3 hour massage for $15 and gave the girl a $6 tip.) Anyway, nobody has been to the place here since knowing how shady it is because we do not want to fuck up our benefits.

6 $ for a fuckin beer in DR? I think I was last there in 2019, I could swear it was like 1-2 bucks for a Presidente at Classico.

You say they are starting at 150%, are they dropping down to 100 quickly or it depends? I was recently in Panama and the girls were quick to take 100 as business was slow.

Do cops fuck with with tourists walking around with obvious girls of the night, or they just targeting hatians? Overall would you return? At $150 a fuck, I would not even consider Sosua, at 100 I could consider for reasons of nostalgia. Love the Su as it was my first monger trip.

You can get beer cheap walking into any of the beach tiendas. Girls are 2500-3000 as long as you tell them the price and don't ask and have even marginal negotiation skills. I was there just some months back and will be there again next month. Trust me, the Haitians will be there. That's my primary choice. Don't get worked up on the doom and gloom reports. Reading reports like the ones posted by Michael1967 I just had to shake my head. That's a prime example of the phrase, "No dar papaya. " The cops won't mess with you. In fact, you might get girls clinging to you, so the cops won't mess with them. Was in Panama last year at La Bocatorena, the going rate was $15 a pop, or $30 for a double time. I pulled some good ones out of there. As with anything it all depends on where you go and how you roll.

This trip to Sosua proved better than anticipated, but it will be the last for me.

On a positive note, the strip is coming back to life. Chicas. There also seems to be a better variety of females from whom to choose. The last time we visited, Sosua was overpopulated with rather full-figured, particularly in the rear, women full of tattoos and lacking social skills. This time, there was a better variety from all shapes and sizes with no particular group dominating the scene (other than many had tattoos). Many of the waitresses on Sosua beach made it more than obvious they were available after work for a price. One attractive waitress working at spot 66 stated whatever one wanted was no problem. In contrast to the past, this is fairly bold for semi-pros; or perhaps she was a pro with a side job as a server to solicit future clients. Music. The music seems to have returned to Caribbean style, which is a positive, in lieu of an overabundance of American varieties. Videography. Thankfully, far fewer people were recording videos for posting on YouTube and other places on the Internet than in the past. Behaviors. Mongers seemed better control of their behaviors than when things centered around the Ahnvee Hotel.

The neutral. Restaurants. The variety of restaurants proved to be fairly consistent, with nothing standing out, but there are many that we never tried. Though many restaurants closed (like Sinatra's), the replacements in the same locations seemed to offer identical menu options. The fare at Hotel Alecia proved decent and inexpensive for breakfast, but they are only open for breakfast. New Garden offers a safe bet for meals, but is over-priced. Lodging. My travel mate plans to return for two weeks just after the new year. He's been able to talk with a variety of hosts who offer a discount for that period if you talk with them directly in lieu of using the Internet for inquiries. He also prefers a small area to explore prior to booking, one with familiarity. Perla de Sosua offered him a decent rate, but it's not the highest quality. People. We noted many of the people in Sosua remember us from the past, including names. It was impressive how they remember people.

The bad. Prices. The pricing in Sosua significantly increased from the past, and my travel mate and I can eat in the United States or any monger travel destination for the current pricing in Sosua. The same is true for the hotel or AirBnB pricing. The women, well they are always costly, in one way or another, no matter the place. My mate tells me they are trying to negotiate from $150 and the proves consistent with what other mongers stated when eating meals. My travel mate drinks beer and alcohol and indicated pricing for beer in Sosua runs about 350 pesos, or $6. Transportation. Quad runners were everywhere on this trip with mongering drivers who likely never drove one in the past.

So why is this likely the last trip? Other places, such as Colombia, offer a better bang for the buck and more to do. Next stop, Medellin.

Food isn't expensive if you look for local alternatives to gringo prices. Try "Comedor El Campito Tropical" on Google maps for Sosua. A pleasant Comedor in a tropical garden near Highway 5 in El Batey. Every meal less than $250 pesos. You do have to accept local limits too. Get there by noon or choices start to run out. They open at 11:30 close by 1:30 PM.

I completely agree with you on this, the prices are extremely high in that town. Restaurants charge between $700-2500 pesos for food. Having a hotel that has a stove is a plus. At least you can go grocery shopping. A while back I written a detailed report on why the women of Sosua charge high rates. They have to pay folks to watch their kids, store their clothes, pay rent in two different accommodations, pay the high prices for food and last but not least break off their padrote and mamadorte. Pimps in Latin terms, if it wasn't me having a business tied to Dominican Republic more than likely I wouldn't never return. Don't get me wrong I love my women Haitian black all the way too mulataa and very bottom heavy. But hell I'm not going to be paying $65-140 for some the same ass I can get in the motherland for $2-15! I don't won't this place to die because so many people worked so hard to build it up. I think after this year I won't never return to Sosua never again too.
