It's not close to lokasari it's in pasar baru area about a 5 - 10 minute walk south of Classic. I like the area though. Lots of cheap food options and a little less busy than the mangga besar area, especially at night. On gojek it's about 10 k - 15 k to get to lokasari / mangga besar. I noticed tho that there is a metro station nearby called Sawah Besar and the next stop up is mangga besar so I may start trying to take the metro and learn how to ride it. It looks very similar to the metro in Medellin, Colombia which I have extensive experience with so I'm kinda curious to just buy a card and hop on the train and ride around Jakarta and see where it goes LOL..

Absolutely 100%, everybody has to try it at least once.

Get yourself an eVOA and then you can use the Automatic gates. Remember to also do your online customs and health check (although nobody looked at that when I last entered). If you are traveling lite then it is straight out to taxi / Grab within about 30 minutes of landing, if that. Was there last week and the process is quick, I arrived very early morning, and if I only had carry on I would have been land side in 10 minutes! The roads will be busy at 6 pm, even on a dry day. For reference it took me 1-1/2 hours to do the 11 km from North Jakarta to Senayan at 6 pm on a Tuesday, felt sorry for the Grab driver as the fair was only about 7 $.

Don't know about a week in Jakarta though, you may get bored very quickly. It is really a city with fuck all else to do. Probably the other reason why it has never lost its charm from a P4 P perspective. It ain't loaded with tourists. It's a gateway to Indo and business city, that's it. If you wanted to see the sites you are done in a day, even considering the traffic.

In Pattaya, you will be paying more than that, with the bad exchange rate that is now the reality, even 1000 baht is over $30.

Not only is sex cheaper in Jakarta but so is food, lodging and transportation. I pay like 10 k to 15 k for my gojek rides. A complete dinner with ayam goreng, nasi putih, and Tempe Goreng costs me like 25 k from the street tents and my airbnb is like 120 k per day.

In Thailand a steak dinner at Patrick's will run you over $30 and in Jakarta the same quality steak dinner will cost you $8 at Jonisteak.

Venues like classic and travel are straight forward 365 k for the session no bullshit lady drinks to buy beforehand and if you do buy your girl a beer it's the same price as a regular beer you buy for yourself. Jakarta is straight up value and Pattaya is a tourist rip-off trying to milk every baht from your farang man boobs..

The only major con of Jakarta compared to TH is in Jakarta anal may be hard to get. I don't do anal, so not a problem for me.

My flight (from Bangkok) also landed at about that time. No problem taking a taxi to Jalan Peconongan. The ride lasted about 45 minutes. I guess at that time the rush hour is out of town. Since we're driving into town, no problem.

That being said, I do like the convenience of Thai Friendly. Having girls show up to your door at 4 am 20 minutes after first contact is quite impressive. Bareback sex is equally available in both locations. If you like fried pork belly there's more of that in Pattaya however I found a Chinese restaurant actually run by and catering to ethnic Chinese that serves pork belly here in Jakarta and it's actually near lokasari right across the street from hotel safari, alas it was overpriced compared to regular Indonesian food.

It's really going to come down to personal preference, if money is no concern then Pattaya may be better suited to him, but if he wants the most value then I'd go with Jakarta.

I'm considering a trip to Jakarta, for the first time (first time Indonesia as well). I've almost finished reading back from about November last year, but I'm not convinced (yet) if I should do it.
I'm a white guy, early 60's, tall, slim, and not that bad looking if I may say so myself. I hate condoms and am only after BBFSCIP from young ladies, preferably between 18 - 25. As someone who lived in Asia from 2000-2015 and am visiting again right now, I would say Jakarta is where you want to be 100%. I'm also mid-60's, decent looking guy and friendly, so there is no shortage of exactly what you are looking for here. I've done Thailand, Philippines, Vietnam. There's no comparison if you want young, good looking, zero inhibitions girls for as little as 300 k IDR anytime you want. Lokasari is my go-to destination, then Classic, then Travel. But I also spend a lot of time online using Michat and Tantan, which have proven to be gold mines. As far as hotels, I highly recommend Sparks Life or Luminor if you want to be within 3 min walk of Lokasari and only about 5 from Travel. Tons of food around here as well.

There is nothing like Jakarta for its cornucopia of sex options, however the North Jakarta venues which are spoken most about on this thread are utterly unlike Pattaya. The blaring music and chain smoking patrons of venues like Travel, Kota Indah bars and Classic leave me with ringing ears and reeking clothes. Despite some saying that no condom is nearly a given with tipping in Classic or Travel, there are now several contrary reports on the certainty of BBFS at these venues with some girls. So I suggest to negotiate that aspect of the service directly with the girl, discreetly using Google Translate, before committing in these venues.

As for Lokasari, not much to add to what has been said below. I would recommend giving Jakarta a try, even if only for a unique mongering experience. It honestly takes more time and effort to really optimize and expand your options, so don't expect the moon on your first shot. For me, there is something about the talent in Indonesia that keeps me coming back. Classic, Travel etc are technically bars but you won't get pestered if you don't want to. Just be reasonably assertive that you want to sit first and relax.

Cons: Traffic and layout. Jakarta is not walkable and the areas with lots of bars close together are now dead. You go to one club then travel to another. You don't pub crawl all night.
