I think your right. 50 k is about the real cost of a ride if she's not too far. Typically scammers ask for multiples of the true cost. Eg: I'm in the Philippines now and a girl just asked me to send her 'only' P500 upfront for a P18 trike ride to come and see me.

For me Michat did not work very well.

I stay mainly to the south west of Jakarta center (Kebayoran Lama area, close to Block M) and the traffic there is not very good quality-wise.

I have seen hundreds of ugly girls and a few ok ones in the search nearby feature.

Pretty much every single account with a pretty girl is either a scammer, sells vcs (adult videos) or outright tries to get some form of deposit from you.

I usually ask the girls with unclear face or body to send more photos, and invariably they either send different photos from the girl, or disappear, or you realise they are ugly.

After going through hundreds of profiles I managed to arrange 2 meetings so far, both in their hotel (thankfully both places were very close to me).

Of course, I haven't done video calling confirmation and it bit me in the ass. Now I know better.

The 1st turned out to be bait and switch (waited 15 minutes in the lobby), so I left.

The 2nd turned out to be a scammer that as soon as she confirmed I am sitting in the hotel waiting, sent me details to send her 100 K online first with some bullshit excuse that she can't meet until transaction is complete. (She was actually quite smart to get me to the hotel, as she posted a lot of clear photos of the girl and spoke good english (initially) and answered all of my questions in a nice way and also agreed for a price reduction.).

Of course that was on me.

But the amount of scams and uglies on Michat is crazy. (Anecdotally, 3 very pretty girls on eurogirlescort site also turned out to be scammers. Even very high price doesn't guarantee quality).

I don't know if it is my location or my inexperience with Michat, but even as is, I scoured hundreds of profiles, had tens of connection requests and I barely have a few contacts saved for when I am desperate enough to go for some average girl. Nothing else to show for it.

Oh, and don't get me started on the Match feature that consists only of scammers (I suspect platform itself is trying to show you tons of matches to get you subscribed). Nothing came out of it at all.

Standard Classic or Kotah Indah bars are hundred times better in that sense. At least in my experience.

I will hang out in the north area soon and hopefully Michat there will be better.

Final advice for Michat: ALWAYS video call the girl before meeting. I learned the hard way. (Bad) Michat Experience.

I assume you need an indo Sim card with SMS functionality. A Telkomsel SIM data only will not do. You need to buy one with data + voice. I remember the sellers at the airport asking whether I wanted "only data".

Correct, you need an Indonesian Sim or esim with phone number as well. I bought mine online as I detailed elsewhere in another post.

Maybe a way to avoid them getting scammed out of a round-trip with somebody who's not actually going to meet them, or who will send them away without money if he doesn't like what he sees, or just to hopefully get some extra taxi money. If I was a working girl, I'd probably also insist my customer pays taxi.

Offering to book grab for them from your own account like Safado70 said is probably the best choice. If they're outright scammers who wouldn't even show, they'll decline of course, while if they're real you can see on your phone exactly when they will arrive, which is also a good thing.

Girls from the street or apps who "just turned 18" trigger some paranoia in me though, and I'd not trust my own judgment to be sure whether someone is 17 or 18, so I'd want to see some ID in cases like that. Fortunately it does not seem, from a quick google search, that this particular type of blackmail is particularly popular in Indonesia, but who knows.

Yeah sending them to grab is not an issue to me. Out of all the girls I've seen from Michat though only one has asked for transport.

As far as asking for a girl's ID chances are about 95% that they won't have one.

Correct, and thanks for the important reminder. The Indo e-sim must be the type with a local phone number.

There are tons of willing women on MiChat at all hours but in order to install the app you need an Indo sim card or E-sim card, which is what I'm Telkomsel. Buy online from their website then wait a couple of days for it to be activated. You have to fill out some kind of online government form but it's definitely well worth the trouble.
