Regardless of what you hear in the news, there is still major economic trade between Colombia and the United States. So there is a lot of regular travel, not just for tourism, but also for business and even for families. The Colombian peso remains quite strong against the USA Dollar compared to how it was a year ago, and the current news haven't changed it much. There are always people pulled aside at customs who just don't feel or look right. And there are always custom officers who will claim whatever reason for it. I don't think that there is any current action happening directly because of the politics between both countries. And by the way, President Petro can travel to the USA In his role as President of Colombia. He cannot, however, travel as a private visitor, which he wasn't planning to do since he is President. In other words, the visa that they pulled was his personal travel visa, not his diplomatic one. When something real happens that actually affects the Colombian economy in a significant way, I think you will see it by a significant change in the exchange rate beyond the current small dips and rises.

While I am indeed an optimist, I think you're downplaying this a bit. I wasn't sure if there was a diff in Petro's personal or Diplomatic visa now tht you mentioned it, and it's actually all his access that's revoked incl Diplomatic after I searched. Then the Col foreign minister also voluntarily renounced her visa, and Petro rebutted that he doesn't care and has Intl access to any UN base and that's that. You talk of trade, and you already know higher tariffs are next. Just like China and that's already in the works, per the devil's mouth himself. In January I lost a shitload amount in my investments in the market bc I was thinking like you, was nonchalant about the tariffs blah blah. Then market went to crap and incurred extremely huge losses. This dude in our WH doesn't play and shit is boiling w Colombia. Two days 10/19 he said prez Petro's an illegal drug dealer, already signed exec order to suspend funds, and also to increase trade tariffs. Hasn't taken effect yet and it's why the COL peso didn't tank yet. We about to have a disaster. Already in the works.

Just saying I'd have more of a watchful eye while I still hope your right and I can come spend another 6 Months as usual Come December.

Concerning Immigration at MDE, my next trip, I will enter Colombia via Bogot, not because of possible searches at MDE, but because MDE Immigration has multi-hour lines. Last time I went, there was only one person working Immigration at MDE.

How long ago was that? Because recent reports indicate that they seem to have added extra people and the lines have gotten a lot shorter.

Is it safer to not take a trip there? Especially with the heavy headbutts happening between Prez Petro and Ours? Heck based on a YT vid, one of the guys held up and interrogated at the Airport was told by the officer that they're doing that bc of what our guy is doing in the WH to them. Like the crack down against dr. You GS or the cash subsidy being withheld. Even a US passport revocation of Prez Petro LOL. Yes, incorrect. It is a normal, somewhat upscale area populated 98% by Colombians. I recommend it because it is reasonably safe, reasonably central, and has good restaurants and shopping.

And some might prefer it because it's relatively flat which makes for easier walking. Which is unusual in Medellin.

No where is safe in SF.

Basic safety: don't drink or drug with locals and girls, modest=old clothes, don't stand out from the crowd, don't attract attention. Don't think that you are the coolest guy, and forget about North American attitude that you can say whatever you want because the police are protecting you. One murder in the area doesn't mean anything, people die in car accidents more often. If you get robbed, it's not fatal either. Say thanks for the experience and go home and enjoy life.

The guy was not just randomly killed. That is just like saying Utah Valley University is not safe because Charlie Kirk got killed there or The Ford Theater is not safe because President Lincoln got killed there. Those were targeted hits, not random acts of violence.

Yep, I agree with you-- the clubs and probably everything else is cartels-- a club owner was hit while driving in SF a few yrs back.

I mostly stay downtown. Two times I have not stayed downtown, I have stayed in Laureles. There really isn't an expat area. Expats stay all over. The tourist area is Poblado. The only thing different about there is that there are tourist prices for accommodations and food. As far as anything being convenient from a tourist perspective, I would say they are all the same. The difference I would say is that if you are up in the hood somewhere it takes longer to get the rideshare to come amd of course there are less restaurants and stuff. But Laureles is just as good for tourists as Poblado.

I'm not claiming I can chat up any girl in any surroundings (far from it) but a lot of girls find it charming that you're making the effort to talk with them without knowing the language. Being willing to look a fool can go a long way.

I tend to date people for real. I am 53 and last night I went out with a chick who is 22. There was no conspicuousness about it. I told her mom on video that she would stay with me last night. Her mom said no but that I could come stay at their house. That is not unusual for me around here. Almost 20 years ago I had a girlfriend who just turned 18 and her parents used to like me to stay at their house.

I'm not going to lie, fucking a girl less than half my age while her parents are in the next room sounds like a huge turn on, but I'm not really interested in "dating" anyone on this trip. I doubt many parents would be too keen on me popping over to drain myself inside their daughter and then leaving, never to see them again.

Pretty much every place you see named except Gustos will be what you are looking for. Put casa in the search bar and the reports with those places should come up. I have had no problem with mileroticos. If you see the pictures have changed then it is more than likely because the ad and contact number is of a casa / brothel where there are multiple women.
