Hey guys do the agencies that people speak of here, Lizeth and Julyana, have incall locations where you can see the girls or do they only come to you? I have an airbnb in the centro which I think should be ok but not sure.
If they don't are the others that do?

Posts: 44All good info, just one correction.
I've been using Banamex for about ten years now. Unlike many of the other banks, they don't try to trick you by asking you to accept their awful exchange rate. You already know, but other posters may not, that you should ALWAYS decline the bank's offered exchange rate and you will get the much better Visa exchange rate.

I've withdrawn pesos from Banamex well over a hundred times now and checked the rate. It's always the good rate. I've withdrawn the limit from Banamex and then gone to Santander and withdrawn money too, on multiple occasions, and the exchange rate is the same. Banamex charges about 31 pesos ATM fee I believe.
The only downside to Banamex imo is they have lower limits.

Appreciate the info on the ATMs MV, your information is more of what I was looking for especially the limit on what you can withdraw since I forgot to mention that in my original post. I've been aware of the Schwab account for many years but never had a real need for it. When I lived in Tijuana I would just use Scoitia since they had no fee for BofA customers but that is no longer the case.
Where I stay has many banks close so I'll have to take a closer look and see what ones they are exactly.
Yeah I always visit after 10 pm even in Tijuana because to me it's a better atmosphere. The Wednesday crowd wasn't bad, maybe because on Wednesdays they don't have a cover but it was my first visit and I only saw one girl I liked but she was occupied by someone else and I didn't want to sit there all night waiting for her.
Again I appreciate the info.

Posts: 74I've been living here for 4+ years now so of course I mainly use ATM's and veeerrrry rarely change USD. Some notes on different banks. . .
Santander, my #1 preference. 35 p fee. I think 11 k peso limit per transaction but if I want more than that I just do two transactions one after the other. Almost never fails me.
Banorte, not bad. Fee like 56 p. Also limit 11 k pesos but still nbd. Also almost never fails me.
Banamex. I avoid. The last time I was in a pinch and used one of their ATM's, it never gave me the option to decline their exchange rate, so I got stuck paying the 7% or whatever commission.
BBVA (bancomer) - I also avoid. The lines are long because it's the most popular bank, and they have a low withdrawal limit I believe (probably also because they have so much traffic).
Scotiabank. Not bad, if there were more of them I would probably use them more. Fee and limit in line with Santander I think.
HSBC. Have only used once or twice, don't remember anything out of the ordinary.
Of course I use schwab so I don't really care about the fees anyway. I also use my CC 90% of the time for the rewards and exchange rate. Cash is basically for small purchases and giving envelopes to the chicas. I've been here so long the algorithm has adjusted and I don't even have to put travel alerts on my cards any more.
As far as tapanko on a Wednesday. . . Well I wouldn't expect much action outside of Thurs / Fri / Sat nights, and definitely don't bother going before 1030 p or 11 really. The clubs here don't get going until after the boys go out for the cena, a couple of drinks after, and then they land at the teibol around 11 or 12. They pretty much all have homeboy standing near the bathroom door selling the stuff for 200 p that keeps you going all night if you want.

Thanks for recommending catadorgdl and the Tapanko locations. Will check that website and the bars out.

Me personally, I travel all over Mexico and Central America and use my ATM cards everywhere that I go. I use Schwab and Fidelity and they refund the fees, plus I get the best exchange rate.

Posts: 897I take a coupla' hundred in $USD with me for some internal / madeup / emergency reason, but always bring it home. 100% ATMs. Get a Schwab or Fidelity debit card. Both refund foreign transaction fees.

Question for anyone. I always take cash with me instead of using a ATM just because I don't want to be in a situation that my card won't work and I'm stuck with no cash and only a credit card.
Do most of you take cash or just withdraw from the ATM as you need it or a combination of both?
I know another poster had made posts about a year or so ago about having issues with getting cash at an ATM so just wanted to know if anyone else had issues.

Posts: 1532I visited both Tapanko locations and wasn't impressed with Valaka but I liked the VIP but didn't take the time to stay long. I just wish they had more girls dancing instead of long breaks between dancers. I went on a Wednesday so hopefully the weekend will be better.

My next trip I plan on visiting that place more and maybe getting lucky to find a Chilean girl that I saw last time but didn't pull the trigger on quick enough.

Posts: 74Caesars and Casa de George are basically only for gringos and reaaaally rich locals because the costs are just outrageous IMO. I highly recommend Tapanko for lower costs and better atmosphere, as it attracts a wider range of clients.

Don't confuse it with the Tapanko VIP, which is designed for a higher end clientele:

I also HIGHLY recommend joining catadorgdl (but not drawing attention to yourself as a gringo). There is a TON of info there about casitas, esteticas, love motels and escort agencies. Also join the live telegram group on their home page for escort ads. There is not a lot of attention given to the strip club scene because those places are not really for getting laid, they're more about hanging out and partying with the boys. Sure you can get laid there for 3-4 k pesos for 30 min but the average local on catadorgdl is more about the 400-800 p session or 2 k / HR escort.

Yes, I have been to Casa de George. I like it, but I like Caesar's better. More fun atmosphere, more girls, better looking girls IMHO.
The person who DM'ed me asked if Caesar's was safe. Yes, I believe so. It appeared to be mostly well off locals there and not Americans, but I could be wrong.
Both clubs are good though.

No he's talking about Motel Picasso. It's a very popular "Love Motel" especially in that area because it's close to many of the best strip clubs.
