This is interesting as I'll be in Rio in a few weeks and staying within a very short walk to Centaurus. Did you end up checking out the other first line termas like Monte Carlo, Solarium and 4 x4 to compare them as well to Centaurus? I'm sure I'll take in at least one of these but from reports so far 4 x4 seems to be the one must visit.

On my most recent visit, I thought 4 X4 and Monte Carlo had better talent than Centaurus. But termas go in phases. One week one is great, then a few weeks later, mediocre. My advice if you're in Rio for a week or more is to hit all the major ones. M Carlo, 4 x4, Centaurus, Solarium, etc. 2-3 of them will be great and the others maybe possibly disappointing.

Scandallo vs termas is apples to oranges. They're very different experiences. I love them both which is why I usually do both Rio and SP in my Brazil trips. IMO both are things a guy must do in his lifetime.

While no scandalo I went there Wednesday night it was pouring rain luckily I'm staying around the corner so not far to walk and many overhangs to hide from the rain. Interesting you say this as Centaurus has had a bad reputation in recent years as being overpriced and overhyped. On google scandalo gets stunning reviews, can you elaborate on your assessment of both places? I'm in Rio now and was contemplating a short trip to scandalo as I have never been and thought I owed myself a visit.
