Posts: 224Had about 2 black-outs per day, but I'll assume the hotel generator kicked in within a minute. So, it wasn't an issue.

Only encountered 1 police / military road block and that was on the way to the airport. Nothing serious, just asking my tour guide where we were going.
Apple Bar was on my to-do-list, but it's a bit out of town and didn't find the time. It was a short visit and Emperor was more than enough fun for me.

Posts: 1093Superb report. I have been on the lookout for on-the-ground intel as I have a long overdue plan to visit ex-colleagues in Yangon. Park Royal is a good choice with its proximity to Emperor. From your report, it seems that the 270 k girl price has moved exactly in line with the 4350 black market exchange rate. Pretty much same same as the THB2000 I was paying pre coup, assuming the black market exchange rate.

It was a pity that you didn't fit Apple Bar into your agenda. I have seen a couple online reviews that suggest the price of girls is lower. To be fair, I appreciate that really involves getting a hotel in the north, or more practically staying at the Diamond Lake. Suspect it would be too risky with evening police and military checkpoints to traverse the city to get back to your hotel. Even pre-coup, my wingman and I would split our visit into 2 parts. The first few days staying in Chinatown to be close to Emperor. Then the next couple days staying at Diamond Lake for access to the delights of Apple Bar and easy exit to the airport nearby. Again, many thanks for the report. AR.

Posts: 2244 days, 3 nights in yangon
Just returned from a short bucket list visit to Yangon (got the Myanmar stamp in my passport), hoping to get Indonesia and either Bhutan or Tibet before years end.
Pretty simple requirements: E-visa, Arrival Card (provided on the flight), no problems with immigration or customs. On customs, if you're traveling with a bunch of luggage plan on it taking sometime. Even with nothing to declare. Waited for over an hour for an Australian couple that I offered to give them a ride into town, while I just had my standard carry-on bag and breezed thru.
Money Exchange: Got 4350 to 1 USD at a money exchange place my guide took me to. There's also a money exchange place directly behind the Park Royal that gave the same rate and also exchanged my remaining Kyat to Thai Baht (expect it would be possible to also exchange Kyat to USD, if you wanted).
Stayed at the Park Royal Hotel in a Club room (highly recommend getting a club room, a bit more expensive. But in my opinion worth it. Just for the free evening snacks and drinks). If you do get a club room, check-in is on the 8th Floor and you'll require on of the doorman to escort you there (elevator requires a key card). Rooms aren't big, there's no bathtub and water pressure isn't as strong as I like it. However, room is very functional and clean with a very comfortable bed / pillows / linen. Overall, staff is very well trained.
Note: First two nights there, no one cared if you walked in with 2 or 3 ladies. On the 3rd night, I got stopped and lady was required to surrender her ID and next morning while getting a cig noticed armed police hanging around outside the hotel.
Overall felt safe and didn't have any issues. Except for two KTV ladies doing a midnight departure on me after agreeing to stay until 7 am.
Only visited 1 KTV, looked like a mid-range place. Pricing: 50 k Basic, 70 K Regular and 90 K VIP Room for 1 Hour. Both snacks and drinks were expensive (as you would expect). To take the girl out you had to spend 350 k (50 k per lady you select, so it's easy to meet the 350 k spending limit) and then pay each lady 350 k (price is for all night until 7 am the next day). Would like not repeat doing this, as it's a bit expensive and ladies were on par with the ladies available to Emperor.
Visited 2 spas, both sucked. Luxury Yacht Hotel's Spa and Yangon Airport Hotel. Both places were mentioned / recommended on another forum.
Emperor. Visited 2 nights, really liked this place. Highly recommend you show up around 7 pm (loud music doesn't start until 7:45-8 pm). Yes, it's dark but they do a showing of the ladies. Normally, 4-5 at a time. My waiter indicated there were 140 ladies working, I'd estimate it was more like 60-80. Pricing: 30 k Entrance Fee with 1 free drink, 270 k Lady (paying 70 k upfront and 200 k to the lady the next morning). No matter your taste, you'll find something. Didn't see any 9's or 10's. There were a good number of 8's.
Note: If you don't mind paying an additional 40 k per lady, I'd recommend during the showing have high prospects sit with you while you cycle thru all the ladies. I didn't pick one lady because I wanted to see the entire line-up, did have the waiter mark her as a high prospect (you let the waiter know what ladies you're interested in and he'll note them and bring them back for another showing). After seeing the entire line-up, asked the waiter to bring back the 4 ladies I was interested in. Only 3 showed up and as expected it was my top pick that was missing. Another customer pulled her.
Note: During the entire process every waiting will be asking for tips or offering you condoms (for a tip).
Visited 3 bars / clubs. Strand Shakies (or something like that), Just a regular highend bar with food. Wiki Wiki Sky Bar (what a dump). ASL at the Park Royal, 35 k entrance fee with very expensive drinks and snacks. Not much on offer in the way of freelancers.
Read prior to my visit about packs of dogs late at night, my tour guide confirmed this and returning to the hotel at night. There were in fact packs of dogs out and about.
Departure: Highly recommend getting to the airport at least 2 hours before your flight (might of just been the upcoming Myanmar New Year) as lines for both screening and check-in were crazy long and slow.
In Short: I enjoyed my time in Yangon, next trip will just stick to Emperor for ladies.
Shit, almost forgot. Did spend a day touring temples and churches with a tour guide. Tour guide was very good, if you want his contact info just private msg me.

Posts: 11My workmate got woken up at 12 am by the police banging on his door at the hotel. A bunch of police were checking rooms and took away the girl he was with as she was not registered to be in the room. That kind of stuff is just part of the scene there I'm afraid.

Posts: 11There are no girls at Sedona or Chatrium. Safehouse, the nightclub at Sedona is a high end techno club favoured by the wealthy. If there are any available girls there, I'd expect high prices and princess attitudes. Theres nothing at all at Chatrium. Perhaps he was thinking of the old Club 5 at the Park Royal, it had girls. It's closed and is now another techno club for the rich. It's called ASL.

Posts: 4I'm curious whether the dingy hotel above Apple KTV has safes in the rooms. And is it true that they turn off the electricity there during the day?
The information about the Royal Holiday Hotel is completely new. Until now, it was only known that you could meet girls at the Sedona and Chatrium hotels. The Royal Holiday seems to be closed; apparently, you can't book a room there. I'd be interested to know what kind of rates they charge for the girls there.

Side Note: Have also purchased my airline tickets and hotel for a June Angeles City visit. Was worried that ticket prices would spike and a friend info'd me that hotels in Angeles and Subic City are normally very busy in June.

I am currently in Yangon.
Yangon remains not a very good mongering destination. Everything closes early, prices are high and hygiene is bad. Perhaps if one stays here for a long time and manages to develop som really good local contacts, it could be better. There are lots of refugees in town, youth unemployment is sky high and it is difficult to get out of the country. But it is certainly not a good place for short time encounters and there is no way of making it efficient.
Emporium is as it always has been: big lineup, hard to choose (little room for dialogue), closes early, expensive, many pushy waiters and touts who all press you for tips, service unpredictable and often really bad, can only take a girl for the whole night. But there are many girls there.
Apple is far away from downtown, in the direction of the airport. A lot of girls and high prices. It is supposed to have taken over from the old JJ, which was what once made Yangon an interesting mongering destination. Apple has quite a big selection. There is a hotel in the same building, but it is pretty rough (smelly, big wet, mouldy patch in the corner of my room, grubby shower). So either you have to put up with that, or take a girl back to your hotel and keep her for the whole night. The girls don't like taking taxis in the middle of the night. Beware that there are several places in Yangon called Apple. I think the correct Apple Bar location should be this one https://maps.app.goo.gl/FCy4Fjeg8CD1c4dm8.
Royal Holiday is a hotel. On the top floors there is a brothel. Many strange smells before you get there (rotten fish, sweat, urine. ? Lots of (wannabe) tough-looking guys meet you. They have a good lineup and prices are not as bad as Emporium or Apple. They show pictures and then you choose on that basis. But it is also possible to ask for a lineup. There were about 40 girls present when I was there.
I visited the floating hotel referred to in recent posts here on the forum. It is hard to get to and definitely not an area one would want to get lost in at night. They can call in girls, but they said it is only worth staying if it is for the whole night.
The various discos / clubs, like Club 5 and Pioneer, are not very full most of the time, most clients are rich kids, not a working girl in sight.

Posts: 4Telegram / Viber in Yangon
Hi everyone, I'm new to the forum and currently planning my first trip to Yangon in three months. I've been advised to use Telegram channels to date girls in Yangon. Apparently, there are some matchmaking channels that are supposed to be very good. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to find them. Can anyone who knows about Telegram help me with the search? Or does anyone still have good Viber contacts from their last trip? I'm looking for pretty, slim girls who aren't too professional.
