I'm facing this issue when I go to get a hotel room, the lady at the reception without the glasses playfully calls me "Safado" meaning pervert / rascal. Safado is actually a bit of a compliment in Brazil, means naughty but mostly used in a good way in this kind of environment.

Thanks, I've been getting mixed signals if speaking proto is truly needed. Thailand while Thai is the native language so many people their just learn english growning up and used to westerners visiting all the time. It's funny, I tried speaking Thai and my Thai friends just laughed and told me straight up not to bother and just speak English. They don't care, most the signage in the country is in English, it's the languge of business and would rather hang around me for free practice but I am not getting the impression the SP has the same enviornment. Maybe I am wrong?

Anyway, I'll make the trip at some point. Is everyone here just going to solo to the club and then just seeing where things land? Is there anything else similiar clubs worth checking out or close that's interesting? It's just a little odd how I hear about this one mentioned but none others? I don't know about others but visiting the RLD in Amsterdam or Soi 6 is Bangkok is great time but it's totally safe. Is there decent nightlife where you can meet people? Or is it mostly private nightlife indoors and there just isn't much open to the public late at night like some Eastern European Countries?

It's much more difficult to get by in Sao Paulo w / o Portuguese than Thailand w / o Thai. That is unless you are staying at western hotels (I. E. Marriott, Hyatt all staff are English fluent) and mostly going to Scandallo (maybe 50-% of girls speak 'some' English). Afterall, Brazil has 200 M plus people and an extremely large and relatively independent economy. In Thailand nearly everyone in tourism speaks decent English, especially in places like Bangkok or Pattaya. I'd also note that Portuguese is a relatively easy language to learn (Latin based) versus Thai. You could learn a lot of common phrases and hold a convo after just 8-10 hours of work.

People here go to multiple clubs and it's a mix of going solo or with others after you've met up on a couple trips. This all noted, and some may disagree, but Sao Paul (and Rio more so) is much more dangerous than Eastern Europe, at least for the past 20 years. You can find some outdoor life if you're looking for non-pros, but many areas are very quiet late at night (i.e. after 11pm / 12am). Plenty of dance clubs and bars open to 3 or 4am, but most here are on limited time so they go to places where there are working girls. The brothel / clubs also have very tight security, so you have much less to worry about from a crime standpoint.

Nice short report. What was the typical starting asking prices at Casarao, Gauguin, and Scandallo respectively? And is the premium room at Casarao really that much nicer? I would think it would be a little hard to get on a busy night due to long wait times.

Well do you speak Thai? If not but you probably still got through your trip there okay. If you saw my reports on my recent trip you will see that I had a pretty good time and I can barely manage Porto. I spent a few months on Duolingo so I was able to speak a couple of useful travel phrases but as soon as girls and other locals started talking, I was lost. Duolingo is not so good at teaching us to listen to conversational languages compared to speaking or reading them. But Google Translate can to the rescue and aided the communication almost effortlessly and I didn't find any of my interactions with locals hampered even though there was a language barrier. I still ordered at restos and eateries okay, got help from transit staff when needed, got through tourist attractions (even though a surprisingly alarming number of staff who work in these areas don't speak English) and enjoyed my sessions with the girls of which only one throughout my entire trip spoke any English.

The only drawback with minimal Porto is that I wouldn't be able to enjoy an extended period if I were to invite a girl overnight and / or for a day to be like a vacation girlfriend as communication totally dependent on Google Translate would be kind of crappy for that long a time period. But it was never my intention to do any wifing up on my first trip to Brazil. Having said that, if I do return to Brazil with the intention of wifing anyone up for an extended period of time that I would have to get better at Porto just to have a better connection.

So as others already mentioned, for a first trip just go and see what Brazil is all about. It is still helpful to learn some elementary Porto phrases as it is anywhere in the world with even greetings as you know then locals will be more receptive.

They always do this. The girls have an entire network that lets them know what's going on inclusive of waiters, other girls, the cashiers, and even the security guards. Its a gossip network. Don't let it bother you.

If you want to make her embarrassed a bit. Tell her andão fode comigo. It means don't fuck with me. One lady always gives me a hard time (I was very active in Scandallo. 3-4 girls some nights), but after that they generally stop. I started with no Portuguese, but am now around a B2 and have come to better understand the inner workings of scandallo after a few years.

It's reasonably priced (to me), centrally located, safe, has multiple gyms, and plenty of great restaurants, cafes, and bars within walking distance. I've also found multiple favoritas that live in adjacent neighborhoods. I usually stay there for most of my trips, with 3-5 days on the end in Vila Olimpia (nice, but crowded during week and dead on weekends), or Brooklin (just far from a lot of things. Need to Uber everywhere). Obviously the clinicas help and more than one garota has stopped by my place for a discounted session after her shift at Abbobora. Sloppy sixths for me I suppose lol. At the end of the day, to each their own!

I also like Moema for the reasons you note. Also, it is possible to find a hotel there that is quiet enough from airplane noise. That said, I've gotten bored with Moema and will be staying in another part of town next time just to try something new and make it all a fresh experience for me again.

I know you say "one of the best things" but it really is about the only thing. There's no other advantage to staying in Moema besides the clinicas. I personally don't venture to the clinicas much anymore, it's just not my cup of tea.

In terms of safety and restaurants nearby and all, I've stayed in Brooklin, Campo Belo and Vila Olmpia before and felt perfectly fine in terms of safety when walking around and with enough restaurants nearby too.

Besides the clinicas aspect, I think Moema can be overrated, overpriced and also like you mentioned, have to deal with the airplane sounds.
