Thanks to all for the support and help from the forum members here, I have made required bookings for a trip in later half of the year. Since for this year my holidays were limited and me going to Mada for first time, I have made a booking for 1 week only, will book for longer duration may be next year on wards (depending on how this trip goes).

With my flights and accomodation booked and paid for already, and based on the cost / girl encounter ( approx. 40 k ariary), would 500 USD be a good budget for 1 week or you think I should have more buffer. Exchange rate wise is it better to carry USD or Eur?

The unknowns for me are the food and daily supplies, transportation, sim card+plan costs.

While most people have said things to be cheap in Mada, the cost for a good hotel near the centre of action didn't exactly come cheap, so I am a little concerned about unfactored price surprises.

Missed adding one important point, I will be anchored down in Tana for 1 week, wouldn't be moving anywhere else.

Summary: Go if you can and straight away to nosy be. Don't be a showoff because no one knows you, so it doesn't matter. Don't overpay because you don't have to. Just enjoy the almost free pussy, post travel and lodging expenses, and if your married, try to work your partner in to make each experience a memory you can share with someone! We are already planning and looking forward to a second, more streamlined & densely packed adventure to Nosy Be.

Flight: Long but manageable flight from NY to Paris to Tana. Damage $1100 per person.

Taxi: app inDrive worked great and relatively cheap. You bid on rides.

Lodging: by recommendation of Vavy Lover we stayed at Sakamanga Hotel in tana and Sable Blanc in Nosy Be. We got the 'best room' in Sakamanga which means queen bed, ac and pretty high ceilings. WE got the "best room" in Sable Blanc which means kitchen bedroom ac and balancy on beach.

Communication: French is language so be civil and Google translate to local. Malagasy is the secondary.

Day One: I arrive exhausted from the 22-hour travel time, unable to unpack and can't wait to sleep in something other then a chair, however, my wife is completely refreshed, as she popped an Ambien, and sleep the better part of 18 hours. Against my better judgement I acquiesce and 10 minutes later we are in Red Night Tana. 10 girls in and out and maybe 4 guys including myself. All average except for 1 hot and doable although I am too tired my steps to the plate and starts chatting with her. We ended up disengaging but worked her down from 200,000 to 40,000. This information is gold for me as I know tomorrow my price is 20,000. Home bad pizza on the way and sleep alas. Note we got a round of free drinks at the bar, not sure why, and 2 drunk guys bought us a round of beers. All in all no action but nice time and all people we meet where nice as well.

Day Two: Working remotely. Note; even the hotels and coffee shops with good internet is all bad and slow internet. Though shalt not work in Mada! Wife Sleeps & I roam the city to get a feel for how dangerous it is, how much I stick out as a white guy and to see if there are any real and present dangers or threats. I go to 2 different money exchanges. The one called Master Exchange had the best rate of 4181 Ariary to 1 USD a couple of roaming eyes but nothing extraordinary. Buy some trinkets & back to hotel. Eat, sleep and we back out; this time to taxi be. We chatted with about 6 girls and price was all over place. About 2 hours in we find a gem, young, pretty, thin with a nice ass. We negotiate and back to hotel. Slight anxiety about bringing first girl into hotel. What if they stop us? What if they give us strange looks because we are a white couple bringing a black pro to our hotel room at 2 am. What will we do. No issue. We walk in, they say Hello, & offer our guest some fresh juice love it. Back upstairs we unpeel the desert and it is spectacular. We wash her down and have a nice 40-minute session with her. Back of room open to the beach. Accommodation is worn down, think 1970's Miami Beach apartment, roads are all but none existent, power goes off 4 times a day but none of that matters. This is the most heavenly place. Here we take toktok everywhere, cheap fast & plentiful. We find ourselves in taxi be once again about 5 minute ride from our hotel. Here you have to do a bit more negotiation to get the price to your mark, I presume some spoilage from too many westerners, although I did not see all that many personally. We snag bag and bang and have a great night sleep.

Day Six: We enjoy the sun, beach walking locally. Again I was very surprised at how nice, kind and welcoming everyone is, not just the ones making money of us. No sense of danger although always follow common sense rules nothing flashy, no jewelry, no watches etc. We venture to Chris Tate. Memories: Packed! Hot! Lots of BO! Perhaps if I were 20 years younger. We make our way to Afrobar pick up two girls. Again, heavy negotiation to get to our mark eventually we strike a deal and have a nice foursome again this time there was a bit of post orgy "need taxi money to go home" but I let me wife deal with that nonsense. But I have a question on housing: Are there any places that are reasonably private (no walk of shame) that have some kind of solar power for the inevitable blackouts? My last 2 trips, probably about 40% of the time I had no electricity. One of the places even ran out of water on my last day. I have stayed at the Maison Ylang Dive resort. The air conditioning is fantastic and 100% solar. But they are not exactly girl friendly (you have to sign your girl in in front of all the european families hanging out at the bar. And they cover the whole place in a heavy tarp after closing time around midnight). I know I sound like a wuss that I can't live without AC. But when I overheat, sex doesn't feel nearly as good. So it's a big deal for me. What about other hotels or airbnbs?
