To be clear, there is one, and only one authoritative source of hobbying information on this GYE thread. It is Doombringer321 who also has a partygye website. As I am a strictly bargain basement hobbyist, I don't go to the classier places. Doom is a great guy, who knows all about everything. I didn't look into edibles.

I went to Salome, which is closer to downtown, for nighttime action one time. There was a $5 cover, and a good number of nice chicas for $25 a session, on site. I came and went by UBER and felt completely safe, despite having only limited Spanish speaking abilities. But otherwise, I was going to La 18 once or twice a day, there are at least 100 decent choices there. There are actually two parts, the main one, and directly across the street, a section where they seem to put out to pasture the older providers. I actually went there once and had a really nice session with a MILF / gilf (probably in her 50's) who still had a decent body, and the sweetest smile (I try to only session with providers who return my smile when our eyes first meet). I still haven't forgotten her. From my experience, which is pretty widespread, there is no place like La 18, like a huge entertainment center, but instead of bowling or video games, it has chicas for the entertainment. Very easy, and in my experience, safe, to deal with.

Amazingly enough, La 18 (Adult Entertainment Center) is searchable on Google maps. While I tried a bus once, I found them unpredictable, so usually took an Uber for about $2. 50 each way from my Air BnB. I should be clear that the only reason I could do this trip on my own was because of information gained from Doombringer321 on my previous trip. He has a site partygye and also has many posts on this thread.

Once you see where La 18 is on the map, it is easy to find an Air BnB within a mile or so. There are several in Urdesa, though I stayed a bit closer. I am a bargain hobbyist, so go for the lower end of everything. It is conceivable that you could ask for a phone number to reach a chica outsde of "office hours", but I don't believe there is any removing them during the day. To give a picture of La 18, it is like a big block party, with bars and restaurant on each side of the street, and a wide area between the 2 sides where people are walking around, looking at the chicas on the sides. Many men are sitting around drinking, and some eating. It is totally blocked off at one end, and has an entrance way with security at the other end. I just gave them a dollar every time I went (about 10 or 11 times during a week), and walked right in. Others were having their IDs checked. If you tried to take a picture, and were caught, you'd never see your phone again, and probably be banned from the place.

Are you saying people are also getting drugged in GYE or was that just in reference to Colombia? Also, how are things going down in GYE now days? I've been itching to find somewhere other than Colombia but I saw that the US military was down there assisting the Ecuadorian government against cartels (news). Is it like Colombia with all the bombings lately but never in metropolitan areas where I would actually end up?

As far as warzones, no brothels are zoned specifically there. Are you a scared rabbit? Go to Colombia, according to some, it's paradise except for the minor inconvenience of people getting dragged every other day, but hey, there is some private places open, call the boys at https://www.partygye.com/ they I think have guided tour options.
