Not usually a poster but thought the info was worth sharing & given the varying reports and rumours that have been posted previously thought the truth would help clarify the situation....49'ers is closed due to a contractual dispute between the owner of the Dana hotel & the owner of the lease to the 49'ers bar/restaurant. The original lease ended in Dec and the owner has seen the obvious cashflow (internal and WG!!) and wants to take it back. Naturally this has caused some conflict with the existing tennant and it is going to be resolved in court. My source indicates this will be before the end of Feb if an agreement can be reached, whereupon 49'ers will re-open immediately.

Never been a huge fan myself so not missed it much but given the lack of equivalent venues then obviously the sooner it re-opens the better for all concerned.
