Why did I return to Oaxaca again?

This was my forth trip to the best city in Mexico (IMHO). A few reasons: The city has the best food in Mexico and has many monger venues to explore.

For other information, refer to my other trip reports.

Airport transportation:

I took an airport taxi and the cost was 490. There were colectivos available. I took a taxi when I returned to the airport and the cost was 350. Each way was around 20-25 minutes.

Getting around town:

I used taxis throughout my stay. The taxis were not metered, but the prices were rather reasonable. Uber was not available in Oaxaca, but DiDi was available. I only used taxis during this romp because DiDi sucks!

Hotel:

Again, I stayed at the Hotel Casa Quiote close to El Zocalo. It was an adult only hotel and was very quiet. Was it girl friendly? Yes, I brought in several chicas during my stay. And two chicas were no problem as well.

Restaurants:

I did a lot of research before I left and I decided to focus on new restaurants. I did return to Memelas San Agustin because the chow is great.

Casa Mook. Excellent.

LOS Pacos Very good.

LOS Danzantes. Outstanding.

Ancestral Tradition Cuisine. Excellent.

Dassani. Outstanding.

Memelas San Agustin. Great.

During my stay, I only went to one new club and returned to a few other clubs.

Club: Imperio (also known as Club Deseo).

Comments: I reported on another club called Imperio during my last couple of romps; that one no longer exist. This club was a bit far and it took around 20 minutes by taxi. This was a good size place and the chicas and staff were friendly.

Returning clubs:

Club: El Carrizal: I spent a good amount of time in this place. Primarily because I have been with the same chica for the last three years. I like this club, but be careful of the robbing meseros. Do not start a tab, pay for the drink / s as they arrive.

Club: Salon Victoria There were still too many chunky chicas on station. It is a safe and friendly club.

Club: Baraimas I love this place because of the duel dancers on a long stage. There were too many chicas to count. This is the best club in Oaxaca.

Club: El Jefe. Closed.

I went to a regular club called Blackcherry because it was across the street from my hotel. A really nice place and there were many chicas there that were alone, mostly in groups of two. At my age, I have no game left in me. For the young studs, it would be worth checking out. BTW, bring your Spanish.

Street scene:

On Friday afternoon, I was trying to go to Calle Galeana, but the taxi took me to the Zaragoza street girl area. I counted 7-8 chicas. I talked to two of them and they both wanted 1500 for 30 minutes; I passed. The street was Calle de Ignacio Zaragoza and the cross road was Diaz Ordaz.

My plan was to go to Calle Galeana on Saturday afternoon, but it rained hard like gatos and putas most of the day. Sorry, just saw these questions.

1. Hotel Quiote is pricy and all the rooms have a safe. It is an adult hotel and very quiet (no pinche ninos). I booked this hotel 3 times, but through Hotels.com. The prices are a lot cheaper, almost 1/2 the Hotel website.

2. It is a short walk to Calle Galeana. No need to worry, Oaxaca City is very safe.

3. There is a great mixed street scene. I would say 1/2 of the chicas were in their twenties.

Went here a couple of weeks ago. I've been to Puebla and the street scene seems similar; however it is in a rough part of town. Passed by there twice but there wasn't anything very appealing.

Went to two strips clubs mentioned: El Carrizal and Baraimas.

First went to Baraimas since our taxi driver said it was beer. In terms of quality, hell ya, but enthusiasm it was lackluster. Why did I return to Oaxaca?

A few reasons: The city has the best food in Mexico (IMHO), the place is very rich in culture, and monger venues are abundant.

Note: I flew to Oaxaca out of Tijuana and back only using my passport card. A passport book is not required.

All the money I quote is in pesos, unless you see the dollar sign.

I used CBX from Otay to the Tijuana airport and back. CBX round trip was around 38 bucks. CBX prices are seasonal. They have a low season, regular season, and high season. I crossed during the low season.

After clearing immigration at the Tijuana airport, I relaxed in the lounge for some chow and adult beverages. Returning, there was a VIP lounge outside of security.

Getting there:

I flew Aeromexico round-trip to Oaxaca. Each way, there was a layover in Mexico City. All of my flights were on time; what a concept!

Airport transportation:

I took an airport taxi and the cost was 465. There were colectivos available and the cost was 120. Because I am impatient and do not like being stuff in a van, I only take colectivos when there are no others options. I took a taxi when I returned to the airport and the cost was 250. Each way was around 20-25 minutes.

Restaurants:

I did a lot of research before I left and I decided to focus on the street food; small shops, trucks, and stands. Here are my thoughts on the food scene:

Tortilleria Monedo.

- Teleta de Corazon Papa.

- Tlacoyode Chicharron.

- Memela with beans, cheese, and mushrooms.

This is a very small place that had amazing chow. One of my favorites.

Tortas de Hormiga.

- Queso de Puerco.

This is a food truck located in a park with great tortas.

Royeros.

- Supreme.

This place is a bit away from El Centro and I thought it was not worth the travel time.

Memelas san Agustin.

- Pollo, frijoles, and queso.

This is a small stand a couple of blocks from El Zocolo. It was another favorite of mine.

Empanadas del Carmen.

- Empanada de amarillo con cilantro mole.

The empanada did not have yellow mole, but did have red mole and it was excellent.

Lechoncito de Oro.

- Lechon con chicharron taco.

- Lechon con pierna torta.

This is a very popular food stand that only serves pork; good chow.

Tacos Roy (Av Maria Morelas).

- Taco pastor con queso.

- Alambre.

This is a very small taco place and the food was pretty damn good.

Casa Oaxaca (restaurant).

-Quesadilla de tortilla de papa de la sierra sur.

-Conejo.

-Sinfonia de mamey.

This was the only restaurant I went to during my stay. Only because I went to the place during my last romp and the food was amazing!

Spanish:

I thought because Oaxaca was a tourist destination, English would be widely spoken. That was not the case, only some English was spoken, which included in the hotel, restaurants, drivers, and the staff in the clubs.
